A Pizza Noob well I cancelled the order off of Amazon and ordered the exact same Saber from AliExpress.com at half the price and half the shipping time! Yes it was absolutely amazing, it charges quick, sounds nice, has loads of colors, and is just overall good quality
Much better review than the others that I've found on YT. Much appreciated. I was looking for a good set of sabers to mess around with my 7 year old son and I really do think that this fits the bill. Practicing with sabers has been a great father to son bonding experience and I'm looking forward to trying these with him. I've looked at initiate sabers with shorter blades and they are still just a bit too expensive for the type of sparing that we do. We've been through many of the Hasbro sabers and even a few of the Replica SW sabers and that is not heavy-weight contact fighting.
1st off, solid review..appreciate your feedback. I was reading some of the Amazon reviews and alot of people swear by this saber being duel ready. A few stated casual dueling but not tournament dueling for the basic series, so I will be doing my own review and seeing what the true durability is. Unlike other videos out there, you actually have the saber disassembled so we all can see what the internals are looking like as well as promoting a pretty straightforward breakdown should someone decide to go the "custom hilt using these guts" route...good looking out on the peek inside. The components look pretty solid to be honest...decent wiring, the speaker is solid and the sound board isnt a dinky target light saber board, so all and all not at bad sub $110 saber!
Update. Very happy with the internals, far better than I would have expected for a "basic saber". Could their be more sounds...sure. Could the speaker be bigger...sure. But all & all very workable. You COULD gut this saber and use it in a custom hilt from the hardware store builds or other. Some scratches on the blade from basic hits, but it seems to hold up ok. I havent went berserk with it, but wacking it upside walls and chairs isnt breaking the blade so far. Very impressed. Going to try a light duel session and update again. Keep the vids coming!
Got mine in the mail a few days ago. I love it. I've completely neglected my more expensive Force FX lightsabers since I got it. The Kyber is just so much better for tricks and even more durable for dueling than the Force FX. The Force FX will now just become replicas for show, since we've beat the crap out of a couple of them already and it's not always easy to find replacement part for them. And they are nice to look at, at least. Already looking at the Grand Master dual pack for me and my little brother. You just can't beat Kyber's prices right now, ESPECIALLY for RGB. Thanks for the review, definitely helped me navigate the options on my basic right out of the box.
It’s necessary because of all the features. A lot of thought and testing has gone into that, and aside from a secondary button (which would increase the cost too significantly) it’s either ditch a lot of the features or keep the annoying power off 5 pulse. Now, depending on what one personally wants, they may say “ditch the features”. But, this is a broad spectrum product aimed at personal customization via a budget saber.

I'm thinking about getting my first saber ever, and I was going to get an UltraSaber but for all these features, the price would probably give me a heart attack. I think I'll have to go with this one
@@OoWINDEXoO If you haven't already gone through with it, I would highly suggest at least going with the Kyber basic first, and then move on to someone like UltraSaber or Saber Forge down the road. I got my basic a few days ago and for the price I'm honestly impressed. I looked at a RGB saber from Saber Forge today and it was almost $800. I think Kyber could definitely stand to add some more customization and hilt options though. They would really be a competitor to the more expensive guys then.
@@rogueleader90 yeah I completely agree. I ended up getting 2 kyber soresus and joined them together, it's awesome. It's a fraction of what the others charge for all the features. I ended painting mine to customize it even more and it looks sick

Came in after only 2 days when it was expected to be delivered in 3 weeks. Also, I took mine outside, put some masking tape over the switch and charging port, also shoved some paper down in the emitter, then hit it with some gold spray paint. I then put on the black wrap and it looks gorgeous. The texture of the saber isn’t “machined” so it has a almost microscopic bumpy texture to it. You can only notice it when you apply paint to it, which I think it adds to the finished look when paint is applied. It’s a dull, but shimmery gold finish. I didn’t add a clear coat to it, which was the plan. I then stored it in my drawer that had a few other things in it, those items actually scratched the paint a little bit, the more I twirled it, the more paint came off, which actually gave it a very natural and beautiful weather to it. THEN I added the clear coat to maintain that weathered look. So it’s gold, but you can see some silver coming through, along with the wrap, it makes it look like a well used and worn saber. I’m in love with this thing. I highly recommend getting one.

I love mine, got it a few weeks ago. Free shipping and got coupon so it was $100. Sounds really nice, good addition to my other sabers. Not as nice as my emerald saber from ultra sabers, but color changing without needing a computer is very nice, and cheaper than kyberlight.
@@Matevo_66 I can see some clear spots in the blade, the reflective wrapping in the blade crinkles a bit, and it's getting harder to hold the button right, but after two months it's still useable.
As others have said, This is a really great review! Extremely informative and comprehensive in features/functions and operating, so thanks for that! I already bought one of these as it just looks cool as hell for such a cheap (in comparison) lightsabre. I also like the fact that its design is original and not a "replica" which in my opinion makes it even more authentic for cosplay if you are your own original character instead of one of thousands of anakins or what ever character you like. Actually I prefer this design to the classic Skywalker blade from episode IV, cant wait to get mine :D
Not exactly an original design is based off General Rahm Kota’s saber from Force Unleashed. But I agree it’s simple design and the fact that it’s design is more abscure and not instantly recognized by a causal fan is why it appeals to me.
Decided to get this as my first ever saber. For the features and price you can't complain but I have heard some bad stories about them. If all goes well I'll definitely buy from kybers again. I wish they had a cruved saber like dooku has but I'm not sure if that will happen.

Really looking into getting this. The only thing I'm not liking is waiting 5 seconds to turn it off. In a quick combat scenario if the saber gets knocked out of my hand, I can't quickly just press it.
I have two, a single color and a RGB, and the kids love sword fighting with them. The single color is noticeably brighter, but neither is dim. My only complaint is the one button for all features. I would have like to see a separate button from the power button for toggling features.

There should be three buttons on this thing, one should be a rotary dial for volume, the second should be an on/off push button, and the third should be a button to cycle through the different light features, Righty Right?
How would you go about troubleshooting the saber in case it doesn't change color cause mine doesn't I've pressed the button and vibrated three times but never changed color
Make sure you have the color changing version. There is one that does not have that feature. If you get it on aliexpress, it is hard to know which you are getting, that is why I prefer amazon. If it only takes 4 pulses to power off, you have the single color version. If it takes 5 pulses, then you have the color changer. If you have the color changer and it does not change color, send it back and get a replacement.
Ordered one of these through the Wish app about a week ago, it's on its way now. Only one color, though (blue). Can't wait to get it. I might upload a review of it once I tinker around with it.
I had the same one, but a month later after not using it for a few days, they stopped working, the light on the button still works and is fading in/fading out. It won't do any of the things it shows in the instructions. Any help? Thanks!

if it makes the flash noise and flickers, but does not flash white, you may have the single color version. if it does not clash at all, then the board may be defective and you should contact the seller.
Yeah, it's color changing but no flash on clash. I will contact kyber. My son is getting the other part of his Force FX Darth maul saber. The kyber was for my daughter. My favorite is my rebel saber. I wanted a ultra saber but dang, they are expensive.
On the basic, not really. On some of the models, you can swap parts between them. Also sometimes, LGT based parts will fit. But with the basics, it is pretty much what it is.
If it is lasting an hour and a half or so at least, that just might be the draw for that saber. Some last longer than others. If it is not lasting that long, it is likely a defective battery and you should speak to the seller.
im looking for the most balanced stunt saber for sword flow... flowsaber are in limbo during the pandemic... what would you suggest? i have a couple ultra sabers which i do like. but they are not balanced at all. i could add some weighted pommels i guess. the price point for the sound is crazy compared to the ultrasabers which is why mine have no sound... i would like to see ultrasabers adopt a recharge port rather than the 4 AAA batteries. Nice video though really considering getting one of these now. thanks for the info.

Darth Cephalus thanks for replying I have another question though. Should I worry if there is a slight rattle in my blade? Also the two screws on the left die of the hilt are in aligned so the screw on the left side of the emitter is farther back than the other one. Also for some reason whenever I twist the bottom back on the saber the cords get coiled up. They got so coiled once that they started coming off the white thermal paste. Should I worry about any of this or should I just enjoy my saber?

Kyberlight is a solid choice. Do a search and you'll see 4 or 5 reviews of different generations of their saber I have done over time. They cost more than something like this, but are more customizable.
if you got it on aliexpress rather than Amazon, it might be a different install even if the body looks the same. some of the cheaper ones are single color as well.
Hey I'm needing help with mine because I dont know what happened but my lightsaber is now only on blues and greens I I want it on pink can you help with that ons
I took the 7/8th inch blade that it came with off and replaced it with my kyberlight blade, I used a rubber O ring and some sports tape to keep it in place so I'm sure it's not sparring capable, but I can swing it around as hard as I need to and even whack it against things and it makes the FOC activate and everything.. a little ramshackle but surprisingly decent!
How's the brightness comparison between say a Ultrasabers with a midgrade blade? I'm in the market for a first one, and it's between this and a stunt saber from Ultrasabers. It'd be nice to have sound which makes this one appealing, but I am really wanting the best and brightest look from the blade over sound.
I wouldn’t recommend trying. contact the saber manufacturer and see if there is anything they can do or any directions they can give you. trying to wing it will cause more harm than good generally.
I know this may be a little late, but is the pommel and emitter detachable? I was hoping to change them out with Ultrasabers. It would look and sound like an expensive saber but for only 100 bucks.
If I were to change the colour to say purple would it light up purple again straight away after I turn it off or would I have to cycle threw colours again?
not quite. the hilt body is the same, but the aliexpress ones are usually LGT. in my experience, they are not as bright. sound fonts are comparable, but the install is a bit different.

It is not. The Aliexpress things sometimes use the same hilt but with different electronics. If it is $25 there is a reason. At that price, it will probobly be plastic when you get it in.

@@darkhabits6904 In a well lit room, the single color is a 10 and the rgb is a 7. In the dark, they both look great.

There should be three buttons on this thing, one should be a rotary dial for volume, the second should be an on/off push button, and the third should be a button to cycle through the different light features, Righty Right?
How would you go about troubleshooting the saber in case it doesn't change color cause mine doesn't I've pressed the button and vibrated three times but never changed color

Make sure you have the color changing version. There is one that does not have that feature. If you get it on aliexpress, it is hard to know which you are getting, that is why I prefer amazon. If it only takes 4 pulses to power off, you have the single color version. If it takes 5 pulses, then you have the color changer. If you have the color changer and it does not change color, send it back and get a replacement.
This is my second lightsaber I have bought and it has the same problem as my first one. It won’t charge
if you are using the usb that came with it and it does not charge, contact the seller or send it back. Amazon has a return/exchange policy.
Ordered one of these through the Wish app about a week ago, it's on its way now. Only one color, though (blue). Can't wait to get it. I might upload a review of it once I tinker around with it.

I had the same one, but a month later after not using it for a few days, they stopped working, the light on the button still works and is fading in/fading out. It won't do any of the things it shows in the instructions. Any help? Thanks!

nope. it is all hard programmed into the board. no memory card.

yes. there is a slight discrepancy from maker to maker sometimes, but nothing that cannot be sorted with a bit of sandpaper.

if it makes the flash noise and flickers, but does not flash white, you may have the single color version. if it does not clash at all, then the board may be defective and you should contact the seller.
Yeah, it's color changing but no flash on clash. I will contact kyber. My son is getting the other part of his Force FX Darth maul saber. The kyber was for my daughter. My favorite is my rebel saber. I wanted a ultra saber but dang, they are expensive.
Is there any custom attachments one can get with it? I know the connector peices but what about hilt emitter etc ?
On the basic, not really. On some of the models, you can swap parts between them. Also sometimes, LGT based parts will fit. But with the basics, it is pretty much what it is.

If it is lasting an hour and a half or so at least, that just might be the draw for that saber. Some last longer than others. If it is not lasting that long, it is likely a defective battery and you should speak to the seller.
im looking for the most balanced stunt saber for sword flow... flowsaber are in limbo during the pandemic... what would you suggest? i have a couple ultra sabers which i do like. but they are not balanced at all. i could add some weighted pommels i guess. the price point for the sound is crazy compared to the ultrasabers which is why mine have no sound... i would like to see ultrasabers adopt a recharge port rather than the 4 AAA batteries. Sounds like the battery is loose. You might check the connection to it, if you are comfortable with doing so.

no. The basic series uses a 7/8" blade. Ultrasabers uses a 1"

On these cheaper sabers (kyber/ydd/aliexpress) can you attach neopixel sabers on them?
technically, you can attach neopixel to anything, but not without completely gutting and reinstalling them.

Depends on what you want it for. Savi sabers are for display, not for actual use.

Darth Cephalus thanks for replying I have another question though. Should I worry if there is a slight rattle in my blade? Also the two screws on the left die of the hilt are in aligned so the screw on the left side of the emitter is farther back than the other one. Also for some reason whenever I twist the bottom back on the saber the cords get coiled up. They got so coiled once that they started coming off the white thermal paste. Should I worry about any of this or should I just enjoy my saber?

Kyberlight is a solid choice. Do a search and you'll see 4 or 5 reviews of different generations of their saber I have done over time. They cost more than something like this, but are more customizable.
I've tried doing flash on clash with mine but there's no flash I'm wondering if the basic series does actually include flash on clash ?
if you got it on aliexpress rather than Amazon, it might be a different install even if the body looks the same. some of the cheaper ones are single color as well.

If you go black, you can sand it down to weathered grey.

I just got one, the only things I dont like is it's a little light and the blade is too short but still pretty good!
I took the 7/8th inch blade that it came with off and replaced it with my kyberlight blade, I used a rubber O ring and some sports tape to keep it in place so I'm sure it's not sparring capable, but I can swing it around as hard as I need to and even whack it against things and it makes the FOC activate and everything.. a little ramshackle but surprisingly decent!
My only question is how long does the battery last
quite a while actually. the no frills board has less draw. Since they are using the same battery as a lot of other makers, the battery life is great.
Which saber can use for duel? Like kinda hit hard.
Most of the premium brands, but the most bang for the buck is an Ultrasabers Grab Bag saber. That is the cheapest and most durable entry level.
How's the brightness comparison between say a Ultrasabers with a midgrade blade? I'm in the market for a first one, and it's between this and a stunt saber from Ultrasabers. It'd be nice to have sound which makes this one appealing, but I am really wanting the best and brightest look from the blade over sound.

I wouldn’t recommend trying. contact the saber manufacturer and see if there is anything they can do or any directions they can give you. trying to wing it will cause more harm than good generally.

I know this may be a little late, but is the pommel and emitter detachable? I was hoping to change them out with Ultrasabers. It would look and sound like an expensive saber but for only 100 bucks.
They are detachable but nowhere near the same size. This will fit inside an MHS saber like Ultrasabers makes.

Just a grip is good for me. This saber is a workhorse that is never going to be a shelf queen in my opinion. It is a great budget saber though.
If I were to change the colour to say purple would it light up purple again straight away after I turn it off or would I have to cycle threw colours again?
Until you have to recharge the battery, it will stay the last color you set it at.

Still working great. I have 2 and they are my primary staff. I don't duel with them but I do drop them all the time.

not quite. the hilt body is the same, but the aliexpress ones are usually LGT. in my experience, they are not as bright. sound fonts are comparable, but the install is a bit different.

Possibly a long shot here, but do you know if this is the same thing, or comparable, to the LGTOY version on Alibaba or Aliexpress? It is not. The Aliexpress things sometimes use the same hilt but with different electronics. If it is $25 there is a reason. At that price, it will probobly be plastic when you get it in.
Hey I’ve heard that there is voices when you turn it on is that true? And can you turn it off?
Not when you turn it on. The newer board has a voice that says "charging" when you plug it in.
is circuit board and the activation switch already installed? (any soldering involved?) just me being curious (planning on buying one myself but doing research first)
Everything is pre-assembled. You don't have to do any soldering unless you pull something loose.

I would love to, but I am a bit far away to make it to the park myself. Time will tell if I can get my hands on one or not, but I plan to try.
that saber can out a belt clip accessorie???
You would have to drill a hole to install one if you wanted it, but the belt clips can be found through a lot of different vendors.
