Ha, I took off my first time window for cleaning. To my surprise when I reinserted window one of the channels popped up, I tried to remove window however the channel was stuck so I gave up. I closed window with channel up :(. Thanks to this video I gave it another shot and was able to slide channel out and redo the window. I figured my mistake the first time was I did not ensure both channels were in the window groove upon reinserting. Thank you!!
Thank you very much. Your videography is not the best but rewinding and looking at your video several times I was able to take it a part! But you made the effort and it is very valuable for thousands of people....
Honestly thank you I always thought mine were broken but they just needed to be reset after I saw nothing broken. Thank you alot saving this video just incase
Thank you for this great video. We had a bathroom window that one channel that was not working. With your video and some silicone lubricant it now works!!
My string looks exactly like yours? But my husband and I still don’t know how to fix it? Do I need to buy another one? And what is it called? So I know
Right! They all break around the same time. So, I can buy a new channel balance, but do you have any suggestions for repairing or lubricating? I'm thinking of replacing the one that broke and seeing if I can repair/lubricate it because I need to do this for about 10 windows in my house that are really getting hard to push.
I think you want to replace these in pairs or it won't be balance in weight. My suggestion is take the good one and match with another window and make pairs that way. I don't know about repair. I'm not an expert on repairing the balance.
@@netman88 Thanks for this ... I was told by our inspector that our windows would need some lubrication 3 years ago when we bought the house and now they're pretty tight and can break. I'll keep doing research on this but maybe just buying new balances is the best way to go.
Thanks for the video. I have a question. That’s the exact size I need on my window. 25 5” but I can’t find it anywhere. Not even at swisco. Where did you get your replacement?
You need to do a better job with your camera work!! It's hard to tell with many of ur close ups as to where you are talking about.......erratic camera moves, etc., just edit ur vid......please
Thank you sooooooooooo much! excellent. This is the best video. Others don't show enough or say enough. Now my windows work like new. I didn't have to ask my husband to fix anything. YIPPY

It’s called the cord. Depends on the price to find it.

Yw, it’s in the description for the vendor

I purchased mines from swisco as I posted in the description. Did you try calling Swisco?
@@netman88 I sent them an email. I’ll give them a call. Thanks again.
Thank you body for the video
Why are there 2 holes for the hook/anchor to go in? Do you use top or bottom hole?
Is your channel balance the same as the one in the video, if so which time position you have a question about?
thanks dude.
I literally broke both of my window balance plastic pieces at the end just now trying to put them in. Can I repair them with super glue
I thought of that before also to repair the strings but it didn't fix it.
Thank you
You're welcome
Is there an online retailer I can buy these from?
I only know the one in description. I fixed 2 windows already.
@@netman88 We ordered some on Amazon, but haven't received them yet. Make sure you get the right size number
Thanks
who invented them? the devil? WORST window hardware ever.
You haven't experienced the joys of coil springs then...

This video was a pain to film btw. No editing would fix it. Odd angles. I only posted to help others.

Now my windows work like new. I didn't have to ask my husband to fix anything. YIPPY
