The new collection of Traska watches will be for sale Sunday August the 13th here: www.traskawatc... - this is NOT an affiliated link. I don't get anything for recommending this watch. I bought all of them myself.

    Finally got my hands on a 36mm blue summiteer, after missing out last year. I’m really glad I did miss out, as this latest version, is amazing. It hugs my 6.75 wrist perfectly and it looks so classy and refined. After searching details about the Rolex explorer 1963 edition, the similarities here are very obvious and I like the retro look more than the modern explorer. I’m blown away as to how good this watch looks and wears, it by far my most comfortable watch and I’m think I’ve found my perfect watch size. 👍😊🥰

    Amazing watches, I have a Venturer II and I just upgraded to the quick adjust clasp and I'm just very excited about one of my cheapest watches in my collection that is also the workhorse and most worn watch. This company is killing it.

    Well done, accurate review. I just received the 2023 Summiteer 36mm in charcoal. Having owned the 38mm V1, I can confirm this iteration is much more harmonious, balanced and wears better on my 7.25" wrist. The bracelet and its smaller links, truly contours to the wrist. There is a tiny gap/tight tolerance between the lugs and the curved end links giving the feeling of overall solidity and unity without being chunky. Combined with the thinness of the case, this watch is indeed elegant.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this is sure more elegant and true to size. Very comfortable. The black one is the most legible and versatile too.

      Thanks. It's not really deep. I have only a few days using the watches, but all abou the movement and anti scratch things are widely covered and I have had the chance to focus on design. I will make a in depth review though but not sure when. I'm receiving another watch next week.

    If the 12 triangle and 3 6 & 9 were larger I would purchase. I don’t like a void dial like the ranger. Nice watch otherwise. Maybe one day when another revision is done. 36mm size is perfect.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว

      I considered that too, but given the inner circle it is not that large the void as this would suggest and then, also, would look too close to the Explorer 1016.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว

      And you are right about the indices, but the sizes are limited by the 6 numbre and the central circle. Without that they could make something more like the Explorer 124270

  • @KB-vf4gz
    @KB-vf4gz ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I know you must be tired of this question. I have the budget for the explorer, but if you could go back in time and you had to buy either traska Summiteer vs. explorer which would you pick ? I know it’s subjective but it’s really hard for me to decide.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, that's actually not a question I have gotten and in many ways it's rather interesting while very difficult to answer specially because both watches play in very different leagues. Although I plan to compare both watches, they are not really to be compared. One costs 12 times the other. The movement of the Rolex is supposed to be miles ahead of the Miyota the Summiteer carries. If you can afford the Explorer you might as well be able to get the Summiteer too.
      Other way of looking at this watches depends on what you are looking for. Do you want a true adventure rugged watch to use while traveling, in the mountain and day to day while commuting or going to somewhat formal places without worries of breaking or losing or you want a status symbol of great quality that you will be able to pass to your heirs and will continue working with quite precision for years to come? Both can't do both things to be honest. It is either one or the other and are completely different motivations.
      All this reasoning behind in my case comes after a small warranty crisis I got the the Explorer fo the second time and the bitter sweet feeling it left me behind and that I will talk in a future ad hoc video as, yes, you might have guessed, I'm now considering selling the Explorer. So I have a strong bias as I'm considering selling the Explorer, the watch that was my grail, and get a couple of less expensive more micro brand watches and call it a night.
      Not sure of what I will do and what my feelings will be in a couple of months times, so my actual knowledge is really something I got only because I have gotten both watches.
      But in short, the true Explorer is the Summiteer. The Explorer is not an Explorer, it is a beautiful luxury heir investment. and probably one of the best looking watches out there. IMHO.

  • @johnrb9397
    @johnrb9397 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you see how far the indices protrude towards the centre of the dial. 12 3 6 9 finish shorter and therefore look too small.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it is intentional but I could be wrong. They are small to make it a bit less sporty and more elegant. I kind of like it, but it would be great to see how it would look without the inner circle and larger numerals, but as said, it would look too much an Explorer 1016.

    Hi, I just checked the review and loved every second of it. I've been trying to decide between this exact version in 36mm and the Lorier Neptune you also reviewed. On that video, the Lorier appears smaller than 39mm. Do you think the wear somehow similar to each other? I like Lorier so much and that acrylic crystal showing of the glossy black gilt dial, but I have small wrists and the traska seems perfect on that matter. Having owned both, is there any tip you could give to me?

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Santiago, this is a tough one as we are talking about different types of watches both as type of tool as of the spirit behind them. The Lorier does wear smaller, that's is true, because the dial is relatively small as it is surrounded by a bezel. But it's still a 39mm watch on the wrist. It is very comfortable as it's very thin. If you prefer the functionality of a diver, with the bezel, it's a good option. My main complain is the lume surface and depth of the hour hand thus I don't really recommend it for that reason. If you don't mind that, it is a very nice watch indeed and should fit most wrists. Of course you need to consider the acrylic which while is very nice, warm and charming, it's more delicate. I had to be quite careful, the way I don't have to be with the Squale Corso Italiano, which, by the way, while also having a 39mm case has a 40.5mm bezel and wears like a 40-41 watch. In short, the size of the Lorier is near perfect I would say and it is like having a new old stock watch you can actually use swimming.
      The Traska on the other hand has a very nice size, it is very elegant and very resistant to anything you might throw at it. Instead of going for a new old stock look and feel, it is a true representation of what an exploring and adventure mechanical watch should be, like the reincarnation of the Explorer 1016 the true way a modern Explorer should be. And this comes from somebody who own, for the moment, the new 2021 Explorer.
      I believe both watches are great, with the advantage that you can actually use the Summiteer to see the time at night. It is not a diver, but an adventure touch watch. The Lorier is a charming call back to the past in an elegant dressy design with a beautiful bezel.
      It's up to you to decide if you prefer diving vintage or rather go to modern adventure, travel and true functionality.
      I might not have helped you much!

    Received my 36mm Summiteer last week. Disappointed by hand alignment - hour hand not pointing directly at hour markers when minute hand at twelve. Would have sent it back but I adjusted bracelet and removed plastic before I noticed. It’s accurate and feels solid and well made. The instructions are written in a style which I find incredibly annoying eg. “…shaking your watch to get it started will make you look like a lunatic…” and “Your watch is just as excited to meet you as you are to meet it.”
    This is bull-crap as it’s supposed to be a serious tool watch and it’s not cheap, I’m not eight years old with My First Timex.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should contact Traska as that is a QC issue they should be able to solve rather easily. Misaligned hands is something as common as simple to solve by any decent watchmaker in a matter of minutes, but first you need to take care of the guarantee before doing anything. About the instructions manual I didn't read it but I also have seen that in some aspects they kind of make fun in their social networks about the way we use true tool watches in daily life, so I guess they are kind of joking around.

    Una domanda. Meglio il 36 o 38 mm?

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In termini di qualità, movimento e costruzione, si tratta dello stesso orologio ma in due dimensioni. Dipende molto dalle vostre preferenze e dalle dimensioni del vostro polso. Il modello da 36 mm è più classico ed elegante ed è più simile a un orologio da 37 mm.
      Il 38 mm è più simile a un 40 o 41 mm, a dire il vero.
      In ogni caso, entrambe le misure si adattano alla maggior parte dei polsi.

    • @TheWatchFrame
      @TheWatchFrame  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      No, it doesn't. First women watches are around 30mm or less. My wife's ideal size all considered is 34mm and 42 L2L but can wear a 36 if thin enough. This one is 36.5mm and wears like a 37 easily. Great size for an adventure and exploring watch. And only 10.5mm high. But if you prefer larger watches you have the 38.5 wich wears like a 39-40.
