- Before we transition into the new year and dive into even more exciting things to come, a final, more personal reflection took place here at Hodinkee. Our staff banded together from New York City to Atlanta, to Canada, and even Japan to take part in a beloved year-end tradition: sharing the watches they wore most this year.

“This doesn’t look like much” £50k platinum daydate haha I love it. What a killer piece
😂😂😂😅
I’ve been watching these annual roundups for many years now. It’s striking to me how large and corporate contemporary Hodinkee has become.
so true. I basically do not know anybody anymore.
The Zenith worn by the Japanese lady is a great looking piece. Also like the GO Pano and Ben’s day date.
Japanese they know what they do!
Agreed! That zenith was THE watch in the video that made me say "whoa"
Did anyone managed to catch what Zenith model is that?
@@AforATY Zenith Star
I thought the same. Loved it. Will have to get one for my wife in the future and steal it t just wear round the house. Love the dial!!
Hodinkee Japan won! They had most interesting watches
Ikr. No boring Rolexes
They elevate horology to a new level
36mm day date and Omega Snoopy. If I had those two, I think that would do me fine. What a fine round up from the team 👏🏻
That IWC Ingenieur, Explorers and Day date are just amazing classic watches.
The Zenith was the best one 7:21
Killer
The cintree is to die for 😍
I don’t know why, but I am almost surprised, and pleased, to see Hodinkee staff wearing interesting mechanical watches, and not only plastic Casio and Apple watches. Great.
I‘m more surprised to see the variety of brands rather than everybody wearing a rolex
Nothing wrong with Casio. Hodinkee would say so themselves!
I look forward to this episode every year! Hodinkee…please never stop these ‘watch I wore most….’ Videos!
Thank you for bringing us another year of content and for sharing your team members’ favorites. I love the continued message of smaller watches and especially to see several Rolex Explorers. Ben, the Day Date is perfect: both on its own but more so because of the sentimental value.
“My mom gave me this [Rolex] in high school…” 😳 Clearly there’s a world out there I’ve not experienced.
That world and Benjamins are something i have never experienced too!!! However, when he said I have never been gifted a watch, I expected him to say he received it from someone outside his family and then he would say it’s his wife, that made me realize how he’s pretty much in his own bubble after the hodinkee success! Whatever bubble he’s in, i envy it and dream of it😂!!
He’s definitely in a bubble. A very expensive bubble.
That Cintree is so beautiful.
Spotify wrapped for watch lovers
The watch I wore 98% of the time in 2001 was a Rolex Explorer ll. Ditto every year since. It just works and works and works. Buy right, buy once, love the increasing value, pass on to a grandson - eventually. I say it again, buy right first time, and that'll also turn out to be the last time. That's real value.
🔥 Love this video every year 👏🏾😍 Happy New Year Watch Fam!🎉
bugari wow..sarpent! and the cartier tank cintree
it was an interesting year, Hodinkee. Thanks - keep those socks on!
Brutal work putting the subtitles on Yu, his english is fine
That was great! 😁
What makes this World so special is the diverse interests.
My infactuation is with motorcycles, mostly old Triumphs.
and I kinda need my Garmin Instinct 1 for work (I need wrist noifications and cardio, etc)
But I can sure appreciate timepieces. 🥰
Cheers to all and Happy New Year!
Glashutte Original Panomaticlunar is top for me
I have to accept that with time comes change. Only three faces I recognize from the early days of hodinkee in this video. Love the variety of pieces shown through the vid.
So nice that it’s not just one dive watch after another. Happy New Year!
Keep up this series! Love it every single year
Love this hodinkee tradition!
Really great video, love the diversity of watches and how cool they all are😊😊
Happy 2024, thanks for your videos and keep it up.
The Japanese are the most stylish, creative and quirky of the international community.❤
Thanks for sharing! I loved this video.
Love those 2 Explorer 1016's. Wow so nice... Talk about a one and done!
I loved seeing the watches of the behind the scenes crew, rather than on-air personalities or reviewers. Great compilation from enthusiasts who happen to work in the industry. BTW that Bulgari Serpenti is stunning!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year fam!
LOVE FREESTYLE
Yellow Gold Bvlgari Serpenti 🔥😯🔥😯🔥
loved the video, thank you Hodinkee, Happy New Year 🎄
Love the Daydate!
That Tudor Pelagos 39 with the grey Nato strap is my choice, just a stunning legible watch 👍 Au
This deserves a million views!
It's official: Ben Clymer lives in a complete different planet.
If one builds wealth fair and square, so what? It is great to live in a world where one can make great income from a passion. Good for Ben.
True!
I don’t think he meant wealth - perhaps just that Ben has an awesome watch😂
@@deltropico7 I don't think the previous comment was a criticism of anyone's success, I think it was an observation that he started his segment with "this doesn't look like much" whilst holding a Day-Date and then went on to say how he was given an expensive items as a gift. That's something most people on the planet will never experience.
Very true. Nothing humbling about Ben. He’s always flexing.
A Konstantin Chaykin Clown watch also reminds me of the faces of Hodinkee readers
Another shout out to the Timex Q 1978!!
Yes, just another Quartz, but the dimensions are so perfect, the thick/bubble acrylic crystal is just amazing, the textured champagne dial, could be a little more textured and colour rich (sometimes I think its gives off an almost pink-ish hue, depending on the light), but I easily get as much pleasure from this watch, as others spending well into the thousands!
The Quartz movement in it, also appears solid, no loud ticks, and keeps excellent time!
Fun fact: The original watch, from the 1970s was produced at the old Timex factory in Dundee, Scotland, which I kind of feel, gives me some connection to, as I'm also from the UK.
I'm with Isa! I absolutely love Titanium, it's my favorite watch material.
Grabs a drink and settles in to watch 🍻
great variety!
So many great watches
I appreciate the diversity of watch brands from the staff.
Japan wins! And ouch, Mutagami-san, about dropping that gorgeous Glashütte. Best of luck!
Nice!
Hodinkee must pay huge signing bonuses; I count at least four who bought a grail watch on their first day!
Cartier small watches are so confortable to wear ❤ I wore my Tank Française SM with mother of pearl face daily
I would love to work at Hodinkee. I don’t even care what the job would be. Just to be around people who also love watches and be involved in watches would be amazing.
Would be great until they lay you off.
Are you woke enough
Work in ATL or Japan, those people seem legit
That snoopy is stunning
Knew it was the platinum. One of my favorite Rolex’s. 36mm and looks stainless to us trained eye and like white gold as the WG one is identical. Subtle. Cool!
I'm not much of a Rolex guy, but how beautiful is that 1963 Explorer at 7:40?
That GO PanoMaticLunar is really sharp.
I love the 36mm daydate from Ben...wow
love that explorer
This must be the entire Hodinkee work force
I knew that Day Date was platinum and not white gold! 😂
The watch I wore the most this year is the Seiko SKX007. Runs great, never gets old
“Doesn’t look like much” - solid gold day date 🤦♂️
Fluted bezel day-date flies under the radar...right...
A lot of staff 😮
That European spec Mercedes W124 @11:30 though!!
I wore my Link Chronograph the most this year.
1016 is pure class
Came for Brandon M, was disappointed he's not here
Never seen a Zenith dial like that before
Who doesnt recognize a rolex day/date? Its the epitome of a classy watch.
Platinum Day-Date "doesn't look like much" 😅
Them Japanese really has good taste
I wore my fitbit the most
Some great watches here! Did I miss something because Brandon was absent from this video, does he no longer work for Hodinkee?
The Rolex Explorer 1016 for me...also I noticed not really any hype watches is this on purpose...all are relatively affordable.
That’s cute that Ben’s favorite watch is from Cara
Cara bought the watch with Bens money. Oh so cute.
@@SuperWhofan1 What do you mean? They’re married… it’s both their money dude.
Like the fact that many of the watches are older models and Rolex designs from a forgotten time. Only saw the 1 ultra modern Pepsi and at least the guy wears it.
Not one single grand seiko… says a lot…
shark freestyle for the mf win
the snake watch
Need me a Cara Barrett before my 40th birthday.
What a happy surprise that both Quartz and lower-cost brands were represented. Rowlecks and to a lesser degree Tudor are the boring predictable choices.
No day dates fly under the radar
And in high school damn, only thing my mother gave me was a resilient liver
RE: Mayer "collaboration".
"Look, I can choose colors!"
I collaborated!
Heartbroken for the guy who dropped and scratched his Glashutte, hope he doesn’t feel too bad, but we’ve been there (in my case my Casio WH 1200 Worldtimer and Swatch Citrime - not Hodinkee worthy but heartbreaking nonetheless).
Wait...does Ben Clymer drive a W124?
The watch I wore most in 2023 is a Shinola Vinton
Lol that's so classic. Founder of the company has the worst camera setup, just used his macbook webcam.
You got it on the same day as your birthday, so your birthday then right?
Hmm. Not a single seiko in japan
I am curious why Hodinkee has had some real misses re: their attempt at collaborations? Just seems like 2023 was off for them. Was it a design issue? Concept issue? Make these unfortunate creations as a way to talk about Hodinkee? I can't quite put my finger on it.
Did not see Brandon Menancio...
Yeah no one will notice that one Ben
Interesting that most of the Hodinkee guys have actual interesting watches (except for sales and ad department - what else to expect) and that the Japanese guys punch too levels about the other in individualism and style.
It shows the massive payroll Hodinkee has and how unbiased needs to be with LVMH
Hodinkee lemme get a job.
Okay I watched this video twice..... WHERE IS BRANDON???? 😢
Sadly it seems the most interesting and grounded hodinkee guy has left!!
Reading “family” related to employees is just cringe, they laid off lots of people in 2023. Can’t do that in a family Ben
How can a Style Editor have a tenths pf thousands of dollars Bvlgari serpentine…?
So... everybody's gone?
Is it just me or does anyone else see Rolex as the Toyota of pricey watches ?
