I have owned thousands of albums and CDs, and been to hundreds of concerts. This group was so innovative, and the CD This Beautiful Mess is absolutely brilliant. Its very near the top of my all-time greats.
When I was in bible college, someone had this cassette, and let me borrow to listen to it, It was so good I almost didn't want to give him back the cassette, even though in good conscience I did. This Beautiful Mess is an amazing album.
I remember our local access channel would play a lot of videos late at night - some well known, and some not so much. They never did play "Kiss Me" or anything like that, because they tended to play more grungy/indie rock/alternative rock stuff. I remember them playing this a couple of times (this is after I'd heard "Kiss Me"). I was kind of blown away by this track, as it kind of showed a little bit of a noisier side of the band. I couldn't remember what this song was called for the life of me for ages, but today, I've found it again. That bass at 2:17 is beautiful!
my dad showed me this on MTV videos and I tear up every time I hear it now. He told me how him and his friends would see Sixpence play at a little venue called the Warehouse in Oklahoma with other Christian grunge/rock artists every time they'd come through in the 90's. Makes me wish i could have been there.
@@TheseBitchesWantNikes this is the first song I ever heard from them. I heard it played it once at a festival in 1995. I remembered this hook for almost 30 years, wondering if it I had just imagined it. I could never find it searching TH-cam until someone at another Channel tipped me off to the title.
Crickets rhythmically sing Their mournful melody Of monotone by request But they fail, they fail To soothe the mess Hands rhythmically grope The sheets again for you And off-rhythm the time slows To make moments eternal Moments eternal Is this some kind of holy test To stitch the treadmarks off my chest To get up walk outside my head On a holy search for angeltread The moon within its ball Washes white the darkened wall With a milky veil of silk And I see, I see The spirits lift Now i've lost my fear So i pray that you come near With a million sparkly lights And help me, help me through the night Is this some kind of holy test To stitch the treadmarks off my chest To get up walk outside my head On a holy search for angeltread The milky prints of spirits near I pray that they have lost their fear A million wisps of sparkly light Weaving through the walls Is this some kind of holy test To stitch the treadmarks off my chest To get up walk outside my head On a holy search for angeltread Angeltread Angeltread Angeltread
I have probably watched this video hundreds of times and love this song so much. In this video there is French text at the bottom of the screen. Some of the text I am able to translate to English . Has anyone been able to translate this?

Heavy song for this band!
@My Name Is Dito This song reminds me of Birthmark by Deftones.
Yeah it is. Its kinda weird to think this is from the same band that made Kiss Me and There She Goes.
@@TheseBitchesWantNikes J.J. Plasencio brought a meaty bass sound to their music during his time there!

Tess Willey muito linda
A beautiful video for a beautiful song. Those were true times of blessings.
Crickets rhythmically sing
Their mournful melody
Of monotone by request
But they fail, they fail
To soothe the mess
Hands rhythmically grope
The sheets again for you
And off-rhythm the time slows
To make moments eternal
Moments eternal
Is this some kind of holy test
To stitch the treadmarks off my chest
To get up walk outside my head
On a holy search for angeltread
The moon within its ball
Washes white the darkened wall
With a milky veil of silk
And I see, I see
The spirits lift
Now i've lost my fear
So i pray that you come near
With a million sparkly lights
And help me, help me through the night
Is this some kind of holy test
To stitch the treadmarks off my chest
To get up walk outside my head
On a holy search for angeltread
The milky prints of spirits near
I pray that they have lost their fear
A million wisps of sparkly light
Weaving through the walls
Is this some kind of holy test
To stitch the treadmarks off my chest
To get up walk outside my head
On a holy search for angeltread

I really dig the band, and Leigh's, wonderful, lilting voice, which reminds me of Harriet Wheeler. The song shoild have stayed in ballad mode, imho.
tremendo tema!!!
I really love this video. It's awesome. Are there any other video's the band made for The fatherless and the widow and This beautiful mess-albums?

what is the name of girl with black hair?
Tess Wiley
Does Anybody Know Leigh Personally.
Believe This Song Was Written When Leigh was 16 Years Old.
Andrew Petersen Matt Slocum wrote this.
They need another female member again!
Tess Wiley really brought a certain something to Sixpence. She wrote one of their best songs, "Disconnect," too.
