OMG. Goosebumps!!!!!! I first listened to it when I was 5-6 years old on a CRT monitor on my uncle's pc 😭.
He passed away but the nostalgia is still there.
Something about this song is so innocent and special and transports you back to simpler, better times x
It's the fact that it's about youthful romance (youthful as signified by "you father's map", indicating they are still probably teens); combined with the nature imagery (milky twilight, bearded barley, trail, moonlit floor, silver moon sparkling, treehouse and hanging tire would be outside and likely in the woods), which is romantic, and suggests youthtful connection to nature because young people spend more time than adults in those outside, natural settings, plus, the connection to nature suggests a more innocent time of man, when there was less technology, and innocent sexuality (just kissing, open hand).

the 90s and early 00's was a really interesting time in terms of pop culture (I am of the belief that Western culture peaked around the mid 2000's and that is backed up by the fact that (for the most part) the amount of quality bands/songs/movies has gone down dramatically since then.
Interesting that this same time period coincided with the end of the Cold War where the US emerged as the dominate superpower, but since then somewhere along the way the "High" wore off and things seem to be trending down ever since.

When I listen to this song, I remember my childhood friends, going with my mom to her friends place for lunch and my dad bringing home cool 90s toys and snacks on his way home from work!! 90s was amazing. This song makes me want to create the same type of place for my kids if I ever get married!!

It's Songs Like This maybe you haven't heard it in a while but when you do. Time stands still for a moment. It immediately takes you back to a Feeling of thought a memory. It is impossible to think anything negative when you're in that zone. The power of music is the most amazing thing we have on Earth. Songs like this that make me forget about my busy life where I have to be when and how all the sudden doesn't matter for a few minutes. Or maybe I'll just sit and listen to this song over and over and it doesn't get old. It's a temporary fix to a life full of problems that will always be there day after day year after year. That's life and you deal with it and you move on and you do the best you can and songs like this warm your heart and give you a feeling of peace and calmness that you can only feel through music. It's something personal or the best part is sharing it with a friend or loved one and letting them know how it makes you feel and why you like that song explaining that keeps us communicating something this world is lacking right now if we could all just take time out feel the feeling that I feel when I listen to a song like this. Would stop a lot of problems in situations that add stress to our daily life

The 80s and the 90s were a better time. A cultural treasure trove compared to the constant dumpster fire of today. I really feel bad for kids that have to grow up in the cultural wasteland of 2021. This song reminds me of a cold evening outing in my old Volvo with my close buddies searching places to eat and chill. We would drive endlessly throughout the city searching for coffee and food with no care in the world. The five of us would drink and chat all through the night until the sun comes out! I was sick kid in the country. We had to drive almost 2 hours one way to make me better 3 times a week since I was 8 to 18. My beautiful strong Mother drove me all those miles and this is one of those songs that'd come on whatever radio station she had on. She loved music. When I got older I wanted to play my songs. She was eager to hear what I liked. But throughout the long trips I'd crave her nostalgia and this banger of a song seemed to always be on when we tuned into her station. I wouldn't have survived childhood much less teens if I didn't get the shots she took me to get. She has survived cancer twice. We often go to the park with my son and play together. She made it just like me. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of the times when it was just me and her and my future was bleak. I love you Mommacita.
