I put a capo on my phone, and now all the songs in my music library play 2 keys higher.
9.8/10
Hilarious 😂
😂😂😂
Hilarious lmfao
🤣🤣🤣
The Lil Wayne part was absolutely hilarious.
I LOL'd pretty loudly... and I'm at work.
I've looked for tabs for that and I can't find them anywhere.
@@1911Savage Gotta slow down that blazing shred so we can figure it out XD
indeed
Bro he literally just plays like three notes the whole time
Me under 21 buying alcohol:
“It’s for my sick guitar moves I promise”
They’d probably think you’re already drunk😂
xD
Haha here in germany we can buy beer at 16
Just go down to the hardware store they have the same thing without the beer!
2 great tips that helped me for learning from youtube videos:
1. 'K' on the keyboard pauses the video. 'J' and 'L' skip back or forward 10 secs. Left & right arrow do the same but 5 secs
2. when the video is paused, you can move back or forward one frame at a time with the ',' or '.' buttons on the keyboard. Great to slowmo solos.
That was really useful. Thanks for the tip!
whoa that one frame really useful...thanks for that !
My pleasure, glad it helps!
Press Shift + < or > to slowdown or speedup.
@@DanXD21 Thanks pal!
"You can't play Wonderwall anymore"
I see this as an absolute win
Lucas Wang this is also the joke...
Lexon
Lol I know right
@Lucas Wang woosh
Suomi perkele
Nope, I like playing wonderwall 👍🏻
OMG that capo trick is something I've never thought of!
Yo same. It's so smart. I have the exact same capo too
@@DavidNwokoye There's a million and one smart phone holders on the market.
Jason Liu same here
What's a capo? Oh ya, it's that thing you use when bar chords still hurt
@@chriskeck3689 it also allows you to use open string style chords in different keys
1:50 I need a full version of this!
Mikko same
Yea is there any other track that sounds like this ?
@@shashwatsrivastava3516 Try with Pink Floyd, some stuff from "The Wall" have similliar groove.
Same
It’s sounds like animals or shine on you crazy diamond- I’d listen to those if I were you
“Free straplocks” “go to the grocery store and buy 2 of these”
"Remember kids, there's never a reason not to practice."
Absolutely true, I sliced open the side of my pointer finger on my right hand recently, and I kept practicing anyway.
I have lessons next week and I just did that :/
maybe you should let it heal first
@@Yan-iy6vs Nah, real guitar players play through the pain :p. In all seriousness though, I agree with you Yan. The only time where you should play through the pain is if the cause is not having played in a while so your calluses aren't what they used to be.
Back in the 1970s I sliced the middle finger of my left hand, needed 4 stitches. I did a studio recording for a TV series with a full orchestra. It was so funny. My friend (a Flamenco player) and I were the lead players, and there was I flipping the bird to everyone. Yeah, nothing shouldn't throw you off.
I actually have a life hack if you cut your fingers.
Super glue. Sounds crazy, but it works.
I cut my left index finger on a metal sheet one time, and after like 3 days of not being able to play at all, I just started gluing it shut, and playing until the glue rubbed off.
Bends were still painful and sliding tore through the glue pretty fast, but it's better than either not playing, or trying to play with an open wound where a fingertip should be.
Probably dont pour the superglue in the cut, I mean, I did, but I'm reckless, and kinda stupid sometimes.
I love the capo idea. But i think i need another one capo.
LovesNoah1 i use blue tack (patafix) on an L shaped surface like a piano or desk against rhe wall and works supr fine if u don’t have 2 capos :)
@@watevaa1234567 ohhhh thank you for the idea. ❤
Amazon has packs of 6 for really cheap, and they're identical to the Dunlop brand of speed capo. I bought a pack a few years ago and I'm still using the first one (I thought they would be crappy and break). All different colours. I was really shocked how sturdy they were, and since we have 5 guitars in the house already (and possibly another one tomorrow - a 7-string finally), it's just easier to have one with every guitar. Plus, 2 of us play, so we have to have at least 2 anyway if we jam. This is the Canadian site, but you should be able to find it on your country's site. www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B013UGGAEU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Tuners work too (the clip on ones)
Just get a $2 phone stand... lol
*Does guitar toss to test strap locks to demonstrate how safe your expensive guitar will be
*Uses a squire
I just put washers on. You have to unscrew the pegs, put washers on, put straps on, and screw them back in. The holes in the strap are not big enough to fit over the washer.
@@TheeInjun i tried that, 4 beers later, couldn't find my guitar...lol...jk
something wrong with a squire?
@@evolution9209 not mine, on my jaguar, set the intonation, pickup height, string height and its sweet, very loud pickups
@@pick4u2 thats what i mean
man i love this guy. you see what he did with his phone and the looper??!! so talented
"There's only one downside though, now you can't play Wonderwall anymore."
I see this as an absolute win.
Nothing wrong with Wonderwall. Great techniques and many dynamics to be learned from the song. Is it overplayed? Yes. But this is the simplest comment to make...🤦♂️
@@dcarts5616 its a meme chill
I have two capos
You can totally play it without a capo
Peter Picard loo
First lifehack video with actually helpful hacks.
Hahaha,yep,I agree!
Eh little bit
I believe my favorite was the capo holding the cell phone
I am just starting out learning to play guitar aged 53, every single video has something amazing in it to learn, being a fellow Dutchman the accent makes me yearn for home again! (Living in the UK since a child)
These videos are exceptionally well-made, funny and informative, but it's very hard not to get lost in your eyes. Awesome job!!!
Notice he switch to the squire instead of risking the custom shop! I have zero faith in the DIY straplocks now
Even if they are going to fail in 1 out of a million tries I'd still not risk a really expensive guitar... lol
I wouldn't do it to an expensive guitar even with the most beefy/expensive strap locks.
Just don't do it anyway... :-)
I think if you have a custom shop, you won't care about the price of strap locks.
Spinning a guitar is for idiots.
That said , leather DIY strap locks are the best. Tested and proven for many years. You use to be able to buy them. But they worked so well everyone quit selling them.
I guess I’ll do a video on how to make them.
Thanks for the hacks, Paul, but you forgot one big hack: me
😂😂
Oh hi jared
Keith Rainier Amador Lol Tyler
Hi Tyler what is popping
Ha lol
Your videos are so helpful, been playing guitar over 20 years and you never stop learning. 👍
1:27 many times repeat cuz the music is just unbelievably magical
Can someone share the tabs for this part?
It sounds a bit like Coil by Opeth
GUYS, for #9 (the TH-cam playback speed), to save time, you can skip the clicking altogether by just doing the [ Shift + , ] command to slow down or [ Shift + . ] to speed up. That's holding down the Shift button and then the pressing the comma or full stop button, respectively. You can also see all of these commands by doing [Shift + /]
TempoSlowMo app will play your song from your library at any speed and with markers to make loops. This will not change the key so you can still play Wonderwall.
@@kingrobert1st is it for Android or iOS
@@samroyproductions3476 I have it on iOS don't know about Android.
I'm I the only stupid dude that presses Shift and + because didn't read carefully???
@@samroyproductions3476 Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, it's only for the Desktop version of TH-cam. That said, I only use Windows (10) on my laptop and Android (7.0 Nougat) on my phone so my knowledge of it is limited to these devices.
Finally guitar "hacks" I'll actually use!
That 10th hack was just crazy!!🤯🤯
the looping portion of this video is amazing
Hack 11: always stretch before practicing prevents back pain and lets you play longer:)
Hand stretches before always. Stretching back toward forearm. Also playing right after shower strengthens calluses even more. My longtime bandmate and frontman told me about that one.
Never heard that one. It's helped me extend reach for shuffle chords. Have not experienced any negative effects. Also why would runners stretch before a run if it caused problems in performance?
Dead lift 300 pounds and then you’re ready to go
No, channel the back pain into the blues...
Very helpfull
one day i made the gain so high on my guitar, that you could hear the radio station signal. seriously, i was in shock lol.
This used to happen all the time on my old bass amp
I have that happen from time to time, scared the shit out of me the first time it happened I thought it was ghosts talking
My Randall used to do this but my Marshall has never done it. Neither did my Ampeg. I think it's poor shielding in lower end amps.
That's the most lit way to listen to the radio
@@stpdbtch It happens on my Line 6 the most so I'd agree with that
Always a pleasure to watch you Paul, interesting, informative, and laid back, you can tell you want people to enjoy the joys of guitar playing, big fan, love the tips
That lick with the pickup trick was so sick
"to learn hard licks easier, slow down the video."

No really though, that was a great video

Stratocaster
:D
Haha, yes.
Another GREAT video Paul! That capo hack is genius and I might just have to do the drill hack as well as that would make it A LOT easier to change strings! Thanks for putting together such AWESOME videos as I know it takes a TON of time to put these videos together! Keep rockin' bro! Much respect! :)
The cool thing is that cus im from spain i learn guitar and english lol
If you listen to Paul a little more you'll be great at guitar and your English will have a Spanish-Dutch accent. :)
These are EXCELLENT! I use the phone against the pickup trick all the time in rehearsals when I need to play back a song for reference.
Is it really just blasting the speakers of the phone against the pickup? Or is there more to it? Any more tipps maybe? :-)
@@HerrTimsn Yes it's just that! :)

Yeeeaaa... I'd stick to the Squier for that trick too, Paul. Lol
Awesome video and great sense of a humor as well!!!🙏🙏🙏
One of my favorite of your videos! Thanks! Love the capo idea.
I noticed you done the guitarflip round your back with your Squier and not your Strat, was that just in case? :)
Mark Pritchard haha, yes had the same thoughts
Hhahaha notice the same
But do you blame him? Lol would you do it with an expensive straplocks?
Luke Carmichael no way, I would only attempt this with a beat up old guitar
I've set that Google metronome as my home screen. Every time I open Firefox, the metronome is right there. Now, if only I would start using it.... :|
If only I started* You're welcome
@@ZmeyMusic Actually, his phrasing is fine for what it is.
I have a metronome app on my phone. I've listented to it. Does that count as "using" it?
I hate metronomes.
I love all videos of paul.
Everytime comes with something creative.
Dude you're killing it with these videos
I'm 18 and I've been using the beer rubber seals as strap locks for years all thanks to my guitar teacher. I really do recommend, they really do the job.
That moody harmonic sound you make with your looper is absolutely lovely!
Best Channel for GuitarNerds
The one about the pick up is the best thing EVER!!
GONNA TRY IT RIGHT AWAY
You can buy string winder drill bits on eBay for a few bucks
His Festool string tool is more expensive than my guitarr 😂
The guitar and voice can seduce me from oceans away I feel so serenated
That's seriously the best guitar channel on TH-cam
Great stuff Paul,.... Absolutely fantastic things i truly didn't know and I'm sure a lot of others didn't either!! Keep up the good work, and thanks again for the tips! :)
Ahh I've stayed kinda a plain and straightforward guitarist for a long while now, and this definitely lightens up and mixes the guitarist lifestyle up a lot for the better! Definitely will try these hacks soon!
Loved this video! Thanks
That was so helpful thanks Paul!
Thanks for the "slowing down" tip - I've been trying to work out that Lil Wayne guitar solo for ages!
5:56 WOW this dude is ROCKING!!
I'm just gonna say it, I love you man, that capo hack just changed my life
this one was one of your bests Paul. thanks a lot.
Noticed he used a Squire on the strap lock test! This is why he's the teacher! 😁
Haha, this video was way more entertaining and useful than I expected it to be. Other than lead on the nut, the emergency "go bag", and the string boiling...it was all new stuff I haven't seen or tried before. Cheers
I was so happy to see you have the same alu suitcase for your stuff as I do! Slowing down La Wayne's solo was a very very insider joke, laughed out loud when I saw that :D
This was one of the most useful videos I have seen in a long time. Was of those I watched in its entire length.
Dude the vibe of this vid is so professional and good. Love it!
Extremely helpful things! Bravo. Especially your metal box)
Is that a Festool drill to tighten guitar strings? Those badboys sell for like 350-400 bucks here in Canada!
thanks for these hacks, your my fav guitar youtuber!
Love u man, u deserve success ...u r a true artist and a very friendly person...i feel the love u put in your videos. THANKS!!!
Ha- love it! So glad I’m not the only one who keeps picks in his watch pocket!
I didn't realize that some people still but watches in their pick pocket! 😋
Oh ma gosh :) great stuff, thanks... Love all of these
This is gold, thanks Paul
really showed off your humor on this one, Paul. Great tips! Some of these have saved my life a billion times, at least!

Helpful, well done, professional video! Thank you!
When I saw the “life hacks” and “all guitarists should know”, I thought here we go with some lame ass things that aren’t really useful at all......... but actually this vid was really cool and actually did have some cool tips for amateurs like me :)
Nice one Davids.
If you're an amateur guitar player, all those lame ass things are probably for your benefit bro
Paul your editing skills are better than Hollywood producers!
You are amazing. You inspire me every single time.
Fabulous! Thank you!
Love you for showing the Grolsch hack hahaha you the man
OH THE LIL WAYNE PART OMG. OH YOU WENT THERE. Well played, sir. /salute
Great editing skills👏🏻
Not only is this useful, it's highly entertaining as well! Thanks Paul!
Guitar hack #11: Use a yoga block as a neck rest as you change strings. ;)
“Now you can’t play wonderwall anymore”.
Mark Agnesi likes this element.
Some of them were really useful for me!!
Great tips. Thanks
Man, that beer commercial warning😂😂
I absolutely love how he was "attempting" to play Lil Wayne on the slow it down tip. 😂
Love the Grolsch bottle straploks. Brilliant!
Thanks Paul!
You know Paul lives dangerously when you see him guitar spin a Squier.
He also used to outplay the metronome, so beware of the man...
Didn't know of the slow speed button. Thanks. Really fun to see you tip # 10 in 50% . You seem to have consumed all the bear in a previous tip :-)
Protip: hold down shift and press comma to slow the video down. Shift and period speeds it up.
If you use google chrome check this plug in for pitch, speed, and loop tools on youtube "Transpose ▲▼ pitch ▹ speed ▹ loop for videos" not sure if links work but that's the name it has a yellow logo

Great video Paul..never thought I'd learned more guitar tricks today !
