I like the way you showed the most humane, best way to bring the crabs 🦀 body temperature down so they’ll feel less pain. Growing up in the Virginia Beach area my mother would take us crabbing & fishing often. York town VA was a popular place for us as well. That’s nice to see you both letting your children experience the process of crabbing. Those memories will stay with them as they get older the same way I have those memories with my mother. May her soul Rest In Peace & Power. I enjoyed your video. Thank you 😊
U guys went all the way to Yorktown? All u had to was come to Norfolk. Didn't even have to use bait in some places. Just a net needed. May your mother and mines Rest in Heavenly Peace
One thing that would help with increasing your catch numbers would be if you would put the trap in not upside down Because the tunnels go on the ground
we do it that way now, with a better understanding of why traps are designed that way. We didn't get drastically different results, but always best to go with nature since the crabs want to escape 'up.' thanks for watching Jeff! Check out our newer crabbing video if you're interested!
@@Woods2Table funnels and more importantly the bait box goes to the bottom. As rigged in the video the crabs can sit on top and eat bait from the outside.
It’s crossed my mind, but I sincerely hope that’s not what happened. I think pulling someone else’s trap is against the law in some areas too but you’d probably have to be right there to catch them doing it.
@@Woods2Table some say to mark your above water buoys, not sure, but you’re enjoying with your kids and they’re enjoying....so let’s hope positive and there are more good than poacher people and they won’t affect you. Besides all viewing have probably learned from your cook ingredients and I must try it. Thanks.

Love the prayer at the end. More people should pray and give the Glory to God.
God bless
May God bless you as well Chris!
looked good
thank you very much!
Hard to beat a good Crab Boil
Now that’s the truth!
Awesome!
thank you very much!!
That ice bath actually kills the crabs. You should put them on ice, but keep the drain plug on. That will put them to sleep without killing them.
Family Goals.. Thanks for sharing 🦀🐚🌼
The house with dock is beautiful around Chanel. Where is it
Have you tried or know someone who tried using both fish and chicken in the same trap as bait?
I have. It didn’t seem to impact results positively or negatively.

Well DONE... Timing the addition of each food is CRUCIAL to the right consistency. Seafood last of course! WELL DONE!
thank you very much!!
Surprised you caught any setting your pots upside down clips go on other side top side
Where are you crabbing in this video?
So this might not be the best time to think of a trip to Ocean Isle 😳, but maybe the next best thing!!! Great memories!
amazing trip, great memories! can't wait to do it again. wish all the folks the best in areas affected by the storm
You have the traps upside down. The funnels should be on the bottom.
that actually explains a lot...thanks!

Show dat Ring ......
A five day soak is too long me thinks. You could have checked at the third day, re- bait fresh/moved, pull on 5th day.
Subing now
That’s awesome - thank you very much Orlando and welcome to the channel!
Why you put your traps upside down.
Back then, didn’t know any better. Live and learn!
Your throwing it upside down throw it with the bait well down just the opposite from what you are throwing it you will catch a lot more
He should have said "As soon as you break the carapace, it is dead". Just to keep the nerds away.
I do this for a living, ur traps are upside down lol the job has to face up and bait box on the bottom buddy lol
I know it, live and learn right! Where are you crabbing? We are glad to connect with a pro!
Great video. I thank you. Can you post the companies name who created those pots? I keep searching and I can't find any that are legal in Va.
I wish I knew! We searched for a long time and eventually stumbled onto these at a gas station!
Can you share the name/location of the gas station that had those traps?
We got them from Sheffields. I am not sure if its something they stock regularly, or if we hit it just right...
You realize that there are poachers that rob your cages unfortunately when finding empty cage.. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to you.
