      Experience does mean something but context it important. Aman has quite a few videos driving in India and appeared to be equally clueless and lost when it came to dealing with situations on Indian roads, the same applies for Indians when they come to the UK, you need time to adjust to different conditions. Simplest analogy I could give you is English cricket pitches are different compared to Indian Pitches, professional players also need time to adjust inspite of playing the sport for a living.
      Take for example Savanah who drives very well according to UK standards,wouldn’t survive a day in any Indian metro city.

      Some new cars do that automatically when going into reverse, and I hate it! Most of the time you have a reverence with another car parked behind you or a long straight bit of curb, than it's not needed. Only in certain specific occasions it's useful.

  • @WayneTulip-zm9gw
    @WayneTulip-zm9gw หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Are experienced drivers better than new drivers? While they have more experience personally in my honest opinion I’d say no, most experienced drivers don’t bother to read through the Highway Code after passing their driving test. 🙃

    • @wrightwoodwork
      @wrightwoodwork หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Don't need to . Experience and understanding how people react in a situation far out weighs reading the highway code again

    • @WayneTulip-zm9gw
      @WayneTulip-zm9gw หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I understand what you’re saying but we can’t guarantee 100% definitely how people will react in any situation because we’re all different and we all react differently to things, no matter how long we’ve been driving I think it’s very important to keep up to date with the Highway Code as like a few years ago for example they brought out rules h1 h2 and h3, without looking through the Highway Code you wouldn’t know they introduced them new rules, also, if you don’t read through the Highway Code from time to time it’s very easy to forget very important information, say for example you haven’t read the Highway Code since passing your driving test you can easily forget extremely important information, you might forget what rule 129 means for example which obviously isn’t good.

    • @wrightwoodwork
      @wrightwoodwork หลายเดือนก่อน

      @WayneTulip-zm9gw as long as people know what is written down and expected if they don't know the rule numbers. I'm not too worried. Most experienced drivers will know the rules but simply choose not to follow because of attitude even if they read it again they would still be the same. If it puts you or others in danger you can't do . If someone does something wrong my mindset is more deal with it than make an issue out of it. Like the dash cam channels that close the gap on the person thst is sleeping at the roundabout and doesn't giveway . Going home safe is the first rule in my head and making sure everyone else goes home is the main things. Experience does help us to understand what people may do. If you think the person is going to do something stupid give them room. Someone drifting I'm lane give a toot if needed. If you see a problem do something about it. Don't be an idiot and mske something dangerous for TH-cam

    The chevron road markings at 13:01 means that you’re in a one direction of flow travel part of the road and vehicles will be passing on both sides of the chevron markings going in the same direction, because they’re bordered with broken white lines on either side both lanes of traffic are allowed to change lanes if it’s safe to do so, the line closest to you always points in the direction of travel and it’s telling you to keep to your side of the road as there could be vehicles next to you in the other lane, so, for example, if you’re to the left of the chevron markings the line closest to you points from bottom right to top left in the direction of travel telling you to keep to the left as there could be vehicles next to you on your right, if you’re to the right of the chevron markings the line closest to you points from bottom left to top right in the direction of travel telling you to keep to the right as there could be vehicles next to you on your left.

    14:40 another driving instructor got this road marking wrong and I had to correct him, he thought the thick broad yellow line along the kerb at the bus stop meant no waiting/ no parking but it actually means no stopping, it’s a bus stop clearway, like with all no stopping clearways you’re allowed to stop due to reasons outside of your control but try to look ahead and plan ahead, if there are road works or a red traffic light or a stationary queue of traffic try to stop before the bus stop and only move forwards when you can clear the bus stop without stopping, the driving instructor said in a stationary queue of traffic you’re allowed to sit and wait on the bus stop which is kind of true, you’re not breaking any rules by doing that but you should plan ahead, you should wait before the bus stop and only start to move forwards when you can clear the bus stop without stopping.

  • @WayneTulip-zm9gw
    @WayneTulip-zm9gw หลายเดือนก่อน

    The hatched markings at 13:56 mean that you’re in a two way flow direction of travel part of the road, the lines always point in the direction of travel and they always point from bottom right to top left no matter if you’re heading northbound or southbound, the line closest to you always point from bottom right to top left so it’s saying to you keep to the left as there could be cars next to you on your right.

  • @WayneTulip-zm9gw
    @WayneTulip-zm9gw หลายเดือนก่อน

    07:11 yes, if there are 2 lanes going in the same direction lane 1 is for normal driving and lane 2 is for overtaking or for turning right, just be very careful and keep an eye on vehicles in lane 2 as you can’t undertake them in free flowing traffic, you can only undertake if they’re signalling to turn right or if it’s slow moving traffic or if lane 2 is stationary and therefore a queue.

      I'm from London and I pretty much agree. After passing i didn't really wanna drive at first and the first shopping centre car park I used was out side of London 😅
