I'd say it's better to rather fail the mock tests and increase the possibility of passing the proper test than not being ready and fail the actual test which will ruin the confidence. I've failed almost all my mock tests, but passed my actual test from 1st attemp. It was a very good way to learn.
My boss years ago passed his test on his first try. Kept rubbing it in because most of us were taking and failing ours. Inside a week he totalled his car. Dunno what happened to him, but I'd imagine he's probably dead now from terrible driving.
Mock tests are designed to fail. My instructor said he was going to mark me a lot harsher than an examiner. I passed first time with 4 minors last November
@@DrivingSchoolTV congrats bro! well done still so much fun lively energy and knowledgeable info :)) although i passed ages ago now still watch for you lol
There is an unwritten rule that one must never criticise someone else's car when you are a guest in it. I can't believe she didn't like Mike. What a travesty!
Cassandra needs to learn MSPSL for junctions. I’m really surprised it was never taught in that 26 hour period of turns. Mirror, Signal, Position, Speed, Look. Not Speed, maybe Mirror, maybe Signal, turn. 🙂
As a motorcyclist oi some years, I saw a lot of things that would worry me in her driving habits and routines. Partticularly, she fails RIGHT at the START because she did NOT make good observations before pulling away. On almost EVERY roundabout, she failed to check her left mirror to exit. I don't think she once checked her blindspot before changing lanes. She didn't signal most of the lane changes. I understand that she is a learner, but she still has a ways to go, honestly.
Your video with that other female instructor about the 6 lamppost rules actually done passed me. I was never sure what speed roads were then i saw that and it literally lifted all my remaining stresses with driving. Passed first time few days ago.
I passed 2 years ago at the age of 48, your never to old to learn, when I was having my lessons my instructor was telling me a lady had passed at the age of 65. Congratulations by the way 🚗🚗🚗🚗
lol yeah an examiner would've probably marked it sensibly. but it was also the stalling, rolling forwards and reverse observations that would've been marked a fail as well
This instructor is great but he should reduce chatting with the learners to increase their concentration. If I should do a mock test with you I would tell you that I wouldn't want to chat with you while driving.
@@DrivingSchoolTVvery true!! It’s just frustrating that she has wasted so much money not being taught properly. She might have been ready soon if she had 🤷♂️
Learned to drive at 32 years young this year. Passed 1st time with 2 minors, I don't feel like age plays apart its just your willingness to learn. I did an intensive course so 35 hours in 10 days, best thing I decided to ever do. Don't know why you stayed for 26 hours when all you were doing is left/right turns, what prompted you to finally switch?. I was on the road with cars within like my 2nd hour, albeit quiet and pretty slow roads but nonetheless I was with traffic doing junctions/traffic lights etc at school drop off time (it was scary). But good luck for your test, just don't go in too confident but confident enough to pass (if that makes sense).
Very well done 👏🏻 Congratulations 🎉 I've got at least ten years on you 😅 I learnt in the 90s but gave it up due to a horrific trauma which resulted in the fatality of my brother (it wasn't an accident) but I'm trying again, I have a lot of triggers but I'm getting there! My test is in October and I'm excited but also a bit terrified. I've found I'm more cautious than I was when I was younger, I'm more worried about negative reactions from other drivers but it's kind of understandable considering what happened.

Spent the whole time covering the clutch with left foot, though not a fault it is something that I encourage students to get out of the habit of doing as it prevents accidental pressure on the clutch and also becomes really uncomfortable for your leg particularly on long journeys.
'Rather fail every mock test so that we can learn' I completely agree... I passed my mock tests and failed my real driving test due to panicking on my parallel park after making 1 mistake. The drive was perfect but 1 serious on the parallel as nerves took over.
Yesss congrats!! I always think if they don't fail a mock test are they really learning anything. you can gain confidence by passing them but thats about it
She didn't realise how important the observation is even in the last roundabout she still didn't check the left mirror while she exited it after Francis advised her.
Relatable regarding scam instructor Literally just finished my first 10 hours of learning, all we’ve done is drive round and round at snails pace doing the turns Also told me I’d need more than 30, he went on a preachy tangent while we were parked (which happened A LOT as in WASTING TIME) that it’d be more like 50 hours He wanted more money 🤑 I’ve just changed instructor lol Fingers crossed this one is more productive
It's a mix. I've now learned to drive in 6 different cars and they are all different. I hated my previous instructors VW Golf and I love my 14 year old Suzuki SX4. My current instructors Seat Ibiza is ok but I wouldn't buy one.
Hello Francis, at 29:19. There are markings on the road on the right. Please can you explain what they are for as I’ve seen them on a few roads but cannot find them in the Highway Code.
Im 31 thought I was old to learn i just passed my test first time yesterday with 2 minors hoenstly i panicked at the sound of the test, but it is not as bad as we think... good luck to everyone 😊
At the point you signal is almost pointless as you've already slowed down. The car behind should be aware or the junction to the left. So should actually know you're turning left. The thing is most people only look atvyiur rear lights when following instead of past you. That's why you need to signal so they don't get caught out. Even thought they should work it out byvyou slowing and the brake lights. I'm not saying don't signal more not too stare at the back of the car in front but look past them and if they are slowing ask yourself could they be turning into a junction or house
She seems to be a pretty decent driver just the basic habits that haven’t been drilled in yet, I really hope she manages to pass first time (also it’s so easy to forget on a test mirrors and signals, I kept thinking I’d forgot to do mine. You’re so focused on everything that it’s a bit of a fever dream) Also the car thing is funny, sometimes you just don’t get on. I remember having that conversation with my instructor about a corsa. I just HATED the gearbox. We drove a lot of different cars as I was learning because she had car troubles, but I’ll never forget that horrific yellow corsa. Hearing the story about the instructor made me so grateful for mine, truly she was a gem who didn’t just teach me to pass a test but how to drive properly in day to day traffic. You also seem to be a great instructor from this video (it’s my first time watching you) so I’m glad she was able to have proper feedback given to hopefully get a pass first time!
I watched a learner while on my break and I'm sure all the did was 4 left turn around a lap a quite residential street as they went past every 5 minutes and all you would be able to do is go left in that time. I felt sorry for the young girl. I'm pretty sure in that area the instructor could have added right turns as it was quiet residential street.
Maybe she just started you have to learn to turn one way before the other turning right means you have to cross oncoming traffic so is harder for new learners
Complains about her previous instructor not progressing past left and right turns because “she wasn’t ready” but still repeatedly fails to signal left or right in this mock test. Maybe he had a point? Either that or he was just a lousy teacher.
12:16 sad to hear some driving instructors out there are waste of time and are a scam Seems most roads in purley way mitcham test centre is forty for dual carriageways in this new test area, twenty in minor side roads and thirty in major roads such as high streets.
