Whenever I see someone with a disability I figure if they need help they'll ask for it, but there is always that little fear in my head that they'll yell at me for walking by and assuming they're capable of doing what they're doing. I have anxiety issues though.

Actually I think that pretty well sums up what a lot of feel -- but a lot of people offer the help anyway. Which is fine and nice but I think what you're saying is spot on. If someone needs help, they'll ask. And you'd be the sort of person who would be nice enough to say yes to that request

So this video adds some new punchlines to a story I've been telling for many years (the airline story) with an entirely new bit I've been working on about why I can't go running for exercise

I just realize that all these stories are about transportation methods: Flying ✈ running 🦿and uber 🚗
That wasn't on purpose BUT LET'S JUST PRETEND IT WAS

I just broke a bone in my foot and I'm on crutches. I now have a little insight to being disabled (temporarily) and how everyone seems to hold the door. It's cool at first, but there's not always going to be someone around to help, so it's best to get used to maneuvering around on your own with no help. If I drop something publicly, people help me usually. If I drop something at home, now I have to try to balance and figure out how to get it. So getting help is a curse and a blessing

I use crutches cuz joints are bleh but got two legs and people are so extra nice and it gets on my nerves so often xD I can open this door, thanks for doing it for me but how do you think I get around when you aren't there? Walking down stairs instead of taking the really gross elevator at the train station "Oh are you ok? Need help? Oh poor thing so young" like bruh you have a genetic disorder and live with it all your life, nothing new, I'm not super brave for existing like some have said.

Really, this happens to people with mental disabilities, too, and I know it’s frustrating to a lot of them. It kind of comes across as condescension, when you think about it. “Helping the less fortunate” isn’t a bad mentality, but not sll people with disabilities are less fortunate!
