Great news ! Once the native revive system evolves we won't need any mods for basic and advanced medical treatment - this will make medics truly useful and essential on the battlefield. The attention detail is really amazing - the suspension and drive chain is super impressive. Now all we need is working window wipers!
Ace3 and especially KAT improve the medical system much more than this basic system. But yes, it went further than A3 medical system. This is great, because it will allow better medical opportunities for the modders

I’m very happy BI are baby-stepping their improvements. It like they’re going down every armaholics wishlist and implementing stuff one by one. Holding my breathe this all works (and looks as smoothly with 50+ players on a server:)
The UAZ-452 edited to show it going 60 km/h as if that’s some blisteringly quick speed is the funniest thing I’ll see all day. Hope this game keeps improving.
Think it was to show off functional dashboards and sensors, the undercarriage, drive train fully rendered with suspension system. Modders could have field day with this.
Had a really great experience with this update recently. My squad got in a huge firefight at one of the major military installations. The enemy was set up on the second story of one building while we were in the command building across the street. After having some close calls, I finally got hit by a grenade launcher round and was bleeding out fast. Two of my teammates finally realized through the din of battle what happened and huddled around my body. They quickly were fumbling for what medical supplies to use, with each bandaging a different limb, but not knowing how to use the tourniquet. Since I was in shock, I couldn’t guide them through how to apply one to slow the bleed. I eventually died as a result. Now that sounds horrible, but it reminded me of a chat I had with a MARSOC officer about tending to casualties. The scenario really encapsulated the burden a wounded man can have on a small unit like our squad. Another man had died instantly earlier, but it didn’t stop us from fighting, but once I was wounded, it essentially made our unit combat ineffective. If we hadn’t started out with fire superiority, we would have been overwhelmed. It really elevated the gameplay, and made the stakes feel a lot higher with trying to keep your buddies alive. I hope it’s not the last tweak to this system (I hope they add dragging, carrying, actual bandage and tourniquet models on wounded characters), but it’s a fantastic start!
I would not really agree to that. Scum is a game that does a lot in a similar authentic approach, even though it is not a war theme, so there are major differences of course. However they do lots of the things in an Arma kind of way and they do it damn well. I have not played Reforger yet, but if it feels similar to Arma3 than i would say Scum does the gun play and overall character stuff with inventory and so on a lot better. And you even have an actual methabolism simulation, these medic gimmicks of Reforger are kind of cute in comparison. So Bohemia is definetely not ahead of the curve in that area. It might even be that Scum could become a competitor in the aviations.
@@nullchannnel Exactly. Bohemia does a lot of great stuff and compared to some AAA publishers(that ban mods), Bohemia is awesome. But they also give 0 support most of the time for the most popular mods.
These are great features and I hope more content is added in future patches. But something missing that impacts my experience is improvements to the AI. Reforger may not be a SP focused game, but as the testing ground for Enfusion I am surprised at how little AI showcase work is done. I would think that because AI was a major roadblock in A3’s performance, it would be core to Reforger/Enfusions marketing and/or development. Hopefully BI will surprise us with improvements in a few patches.
Nice to see that you guys have added body armor, I hope you've also added the Alphenflage armored vest for the FIA faction. (There not many original vests left to find but I have a real one and will be happy to send them to you guys so it will be also included in to the game.
I'd like to see more content for the FIA, like M16A1s smuggled by the USA (even if it was phased out by 1986, it was still used by US Sea bees), perhaps other exclusive vehicles, return of the Sopwith camel biplane from Cold War Assault, etc.

I dont know if its possible, but America's Army 3 had a training system where you had to pass certain checks(like learning how to be a medic) in order to play medic(or other roles). Now, I dont want that in ARMA cause it doesnt make sense. But a similar tutorial for the newer players would be great, specially with the introduction of the new systems.

Yeah! That was amazing! I remember once crawling for an hour to escape the dirty commies! Who would think that was a memorable highlight, but 20 years later I still remember! Great memories! 😂

We were on the multiplayer mission War Cry, from the Operation Flashpoint resistance expansion, the one where you can either play as the main squad, the APC crew, or the snipers. We of course choose the snipers, I had the MP5SD and my bro had the M14 sniper. We were crawling across the field trying to not get detected by the Russian BMP. It spotted my bro and shot his legs out, but we both barely managed to scramble behind a hill for cover before it could kill us both. We decided it would be better if we ran the long way around rather than try to take the shortcut but risk being killed by the BMP. But when my brother tried to stand up, his character screamed in pain and fell back down. We were so confused because we never saw this mechanic before. We had to slowly move inch by inch towards the Chapel with the soviet car so that we could attack the main city, it took us what felt like hours of crawling to get there. Needless to say we were laughing the entire time. These games gave me so many great memories!
The most immersive/realistic thing you guys can do is implement the tourniquet and bleed out features through which ever limb your shot in. This is most small arms casualties

I love that u've put a way to have a revive possibilities. I've made a mod for that but it required so much deep modification on the character config and health that it was totally pointless to release it. Every update my code was due to break.
thanks for the mod, i think guys like u are doing a better job than the devs considering they are paid while u are not. cannot give them an ounce of credit at all when ppl which are improving /fixing the game for free are doing a better job.
@@MrNajibrazak I don't think my mod was better in any ways to what they made tbh the game was just no ready for having a revive feature. It was a lot of work arround and rewrittings a shit load of stuff related to stop the player from ragdolling. Because if u ragdoll ur character was impossible to change state and comeback to alive. It's a short explanation not totally accurate of the real thing.

An advanced medical feature is what Arma has been lacking all along. The mods were really only a bandaid to that, hope we see this feature develop to be far more advanced
In Arma 3 you didn't actually have to lock your bipod to the piece of cover to get the recoil reduction bonus and you also had varying levels of recoil reduction any time you stood behind/near cover like windows, walls, pillars etc. Is this still the case in Reforger? If not, and if you have to actually lock your bipod down like this which limits your camera angles, this is a step back - Not forward.
I consider A3 solution subpar in most of cases. Only exception is weapon resting against vertical edges. That may happen eventually in Reforger. As for being stuck in position - I think that's actually advantage of Reforger over A3 where deployment looks more fake and limits you into artificial ellipse. In Reforger it's up to player to find good firing position. You can even relocate your deployment point with standard move inputs
I am so excited for this game to come to ps5. I remember the hype and the wait for dayz to come to playstation and ever since its released, ive spent HUNDREDS of hours and many late night playing with friends and strangers having an absolute blast. Cant wait to play arma reforger on console and i hope it comes soon because ive been paying attention since day 1 of release and feel like i cant wait for it anymore! Lets hope by update 1.0 its released for ps5!
official servers are now only 10v10 on that huge map. you're mistaken if you think I'm going to wait on being healed by someone more than a hundred meters away. I'd rather redeploy. or maybe the server will crash before the medic even gets to me. it's great that new features are being added, but all I really want is a stable game engine. I'm getting nervous that this will never lead to a stable game release.
Finally! this is the big update and system add that needed to be in game. Looking forward to how ease of use the medical system is to use when in a vehicle. Hope MEDEVAC helicopters come soon also. DUST OFF!
I reinstalled the game and managed to play the game without a crash or server disconnect which was a whole match. It felt amazing, specially when it got to night and yet players could see me laying down in the pitch black… confusing but I did enjoy the game. So I will play more considering I had a full match. 😊 Snow and more atmosphere would be good! Get a storm and rain for on the go

And add to the Soviet Soldiers detachments in camouflage "Bhutan", otherwise the Americans run in their camouflage, although in the USSR by the end of the 80s the army had already used a lot of camouflage "Bhutan", at least the Marines, Airborne Forces and Internal Troops were almost completely dressed in camouflage, and not in a one-color uniform. Motorized rifle Troops were also 80% disguised in "Bhutan" camouflage. Pleaseee.)))
Are they adding any mechanic type roles? Where certain vehicles could be driven out too and could either be towed away back to your base for heavy repairs or you’d be able to do smaller lighter repairs right there with tools either from the truck or from your person.
I was hoping for many more details, such as whether concussions or what causes unconsciousness, whether internal organs matter, whether you can keep magically healing or if it accumulates into untreatable injury and death, etc.
I wish they would reduce the weapon sway just a little. Just does not seem realistic. I think using snipers from a crouched position should be manageable
Cool cool. But can we get the other promised content from the road from last year ? Like Infantry fighting vehicles. Helicopters, destruction. We appreciate the bug fixed and all that but we seriously want more content already

This is EXACTLY what we've always wanted in a simulation game like this! I know mods exist, but this saves us a step!

Are they adding any mechanic type roles? Where certain vehicles could be driven out too and could either be towed away back to your base for heavy repairs or you’d be able to do smaller lighter repairs right there with tools either from the truck or from your person.
Would be nice to see other anti-tank things like landmines

Physics-based body armor penetration is THE feature. You should have started with it and the Reforger launch would have been a lot more well-received.

I was hoping for many more details, such as whether concussions or what causes unconsciousness, whether internal organs matter, whether you can keep magically healing or if it accumulates into untreatable injury and death, etc.
Rumour has it Jesper is the Director, designer, artist, coder and all of the other roles.

No, when you mount your gun there is next to no weapon sway though
I wish they would reduce the weapon sway just a little. Just does not seem realistic. I think using snipers from a crouched position should be manageable
Cool cool. But can we get the other promised content from the road from last year ? Like Infantry fighting vehicles. Helicopters, destruction. We appreciate the bug fixed and all that but we seriously want more content already

They're supposed to add the LAV-25 soon but I doubt they have any plans for tanks for jets to be added at all
