- #travel to Six Flags Great America to ride #demon from the classic manufacturer #arrowdynamics .This ride is still very smooth, has immense theming for any ride in the #sixflags chain and proves to be such an enjoyable but sometimes forgettable ride in Gurnees high power lineup. The Six Flags version has great theming, the California version had some of its theming stripped during the Paramount era.
California's version has evil laughter and a church bell sound in the first tunnel while leaving the station. The lights and screaming in the second tunnel are arguably better in the California version too. I think the demon rock face looks better in Cali. Does the Illinois version have mist year round? Cali only has the mist and red waterfall turned on around Halloween. Other than the rockwork around the loops (cali's was removed a long time ago) I disagree with your assessment on the theming. California's Great America takes better care of the track too. It's very smooth compared to most arrow loopers this old.
Still a fun ride but missing a lot of the original special effects
why does no one talk abt how good the first drop is? also it reopened yesterday but without rockwork.
My favorite coaster of all time. The death ejector on the first drop is insane. The rockwork was crumbling and unsafe so they removed it.

Lucky! I've gone to Six Flags GA like 10 times this year and it was closed every time wtf?! I know SFGA announced the new Zamperla SKY Stryker, but earlier this year right I was there ready to launch on Viper and a staff member grabbed the PA and hinted of a new ride. I immediately thought Demon would be a goner since it was never open. He also mentioned that Viper would get a makeover and would be "record breaking". I have no idea what that meant. I guess since Sky Stryker was revealed and there is no further news of anything involving Viper, nothing is going to happen. I do wish they'd update American Eagle. I miss the days they'd run both sides at the same time. They used to even run both backwards at one point.
