Get ready to witness the rise of an exciting new contender in the compact SUV world-Škoda is about to make waves with the all-new Kylaq, launching in 2025. If you’re looking for a vehicle that blends style, innovation, and a strong connection to one of the most dynamic automotive markets in the world, this is it. Škoda's Kylaq doesn’t just represent another addition to its lineup; it marks a new chapter in the brand’s journey, particularly in India, where the buzz surrounding this SUV is already taking off.
The name Kylaq, chosen through a public voting campaign that involved over 200,000 participants, reflects Škoda’s deep engagement with its global audience. Rooted in the Sanskrit word for crystal, the name also aligns with Škoda's tradition of naming its combustion engine-powered SUVs with names that begin with a K and end with a Q, just like the Kushaq, Karoq, and Kodiaq. This strong identity connects the Kylaq to the brand’s heritage while promising something fresh and unique.
Poised to become Škoda’s entry-level model in India, the Kylaq will sit just below the Kushaq in terms of both size and price. Since the first teaser was released in early 2024, anticipation has been growing, and the latest reveal has shown off the vehicle’s striking profile. Compact yet rugged, the Kylaq’s design is crafted to meet the needs of urban drivers. Its bold silhouette, complete with roof rails and a sturdy stance, perfectly captures Škoda's Modern Solid design language, which emphasizes both strength and precision. This model will also be the first in India to feature Škoda’s distinct LED lighting signature, ensuring it stands out from the competition.
Spy photos from India have confirmed that the Kylaq will be extremely compact, measuring under 4 meters in length. This makes it the smallest Škoda vehicle on the global stage, even smaller than the Kushaq, Fabia, and the Epiq electric model. Its design, featuring short rear overhangs and split LED headlights, is tailor-made for navigating the tight streets of bustling cities. It’s built to be agile and practical, the perfect choice for city dwellers.
The Kylaq is built on Škoda’s locally-developed MQB A0 IN platform, which it shares with the Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. Beneath the hood, drivers can expect a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that generates 113 horsepower. Customers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic, both delivering power to the front wheels.
As it enters the highly competitive compact SUV segment in India, the Kylaq is set to challenge rivals like the Citroen New C3, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. While it is uncertain if the Kylaq will be available outside of India, its launch is a major milestone for Škoda, highlighting its commitment to innovation and excellence in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets.

Skoda n VW please concentrate on increasing boot n space and also provide solution for Rattling, power window machine, AC, quality of plastic used in Kushaq/taigun/Slavia/Virtus... U do not need to release new models.. above models can capture Majority of Indian market.... Last but not least after sales service.... I think u r Indian management is inefficient indeed..
