Hi Pat, maybe you can answer this question for me. I get confused with the foundation papers why do they make the finished size much more prominent. Aren’t we more concerned with the unfinished size because that’s what we’re cutting and that is the main focus in the pattern. I missed using the papers sometimes because I thought it would come out the wrong size. Am I the only one who gets confused with these? Thank you for answering this for me.
Loretta some manufacturers list the finished first, some the unfinished. No reason why. Foundation piecing is SUPER accurate, you get much nicer blocks and they are the perfect size
The trim on your blouse looks like quilt binding. Going to the state fair today and will spend plenty of time admiring quilts. Hope all you Zonies have a great weekend!
Are you aware that scraping any sharp blade sidewise dulls it much more quickly than just cutting with it? It "bends" the sharp edge that does the cutting out of alignment - exactly the opposite effect of honing a blade. Just FYI...
Well, 30 years is a habit that won’t be broken in any case. What blades do you use? Because mine don’t seem to “last a really long time” and I don’t do the sideways scrape. On the other hand, I don’t buy to really high end blades either.
Every time I feel guilty about buying fabric I think about the size of your stash, and all of the fabric buying that you are doing. Okay, quilting is not my business as it is yours, but still, you are an inspiration - lol!
