I do love Still Game, but I do wonder what on earth Americans will make of this. You seem to enjoy it a lot, at least! Even in the UK, at the start, it was thought to be too 'Scottish' to air on anything but TV in Scotland - but later on it got quite popular in England too. Though the show has now ended (with a truly unforgettable and moving final episode last year) the stage shows have been huge sell-out successes in Scotland.
I LOVE the show over here in Canada! My mom is from Glasgow. I've watched all the seasons of Still Game twice. Constantly trying to convince people to watch as it's on Netflix here.
I'm belgian and I absolutely love this show! I find the scottish accent/dialect pretty intuitive for some reason :) I even find it easier to understand then some of our local flemish dialects.

Ah this is one of my favourite episodes.
The best is "Cauld" though. Can't beat those classic first episodes. "That lad frae Timpsons is getting kicked squarely in the nuts!".
I've never analysed it before but we aren't the kinda ppl to hold anything back I guess. We don't suffer fools.
They changed the theme song originally in season 6 (it's the other theme song) - then changed it on the DVD boxset afterwards as well for all episodes but one of the xmas / New Year ones - hence the reason for there being 2 different theme songs.

Mine too. Only thing I hate about the non BBC version is the music changes throughout the episode's. Original version plays Bob marley at the end with Winston.

The first live show was basically a stage play that starred only Jack, Victor & Winston and it was before the TV show started.
The 2nd one starred everyone in the TV version of the show.

The feme choon (little britain reference) in this episode is from early series and later series have the “correct” theme as the ignorant would say, at least thats how it is on my series 1-6 box set cause im a G. I’ve rewatched it countless times if you want it 💁🏻♂️
The early series had the correct theme tune on tv (Cuban Boys 'Cuban boys Go Boom! mix', can be heard halfway through the track). It's just not on the dvds. BBC Scotland probably couldn't fund it. The sample used is 'Cuban Boy' by Frank Chacksfield
MrVidification The first 2-3 series on my dvds is the one in this video, and i haven’t double checked but it might be this one all the way through but im sure it changes to the new one, but it definitely has this older one on in my box set
Crazy, just recommend you watch this on your review of black books! Love this show I have watched this complete series twice, Black books twice, and IDEAl about six times. IDEAL is hard to find, most of the DVD’s are UK only versions. I have found that so many UK sitcoms are great.
Being from the UK I knew of this series but never had a desire to watch it because I thought it would be a bit too Rab C Nesbitt, which I wasn't fond of. But finally gave it a go and fell in love with it after the first episode.
Aww, Kevin Guthrie looks so young, must have been in his teens here. In case you didn't know, he's a pretty successful actor now.
I was 17 when this was aired. Can not believe it was that long ago only recently started watching this. As I had been living in the north of Scotland for my late childhood to 17 when I moved back to Glasgow. I wonder if he maybe the same age as me. I can not believe I'm this old now. 32 3 days ago. Time flies by when fleeing abuse n enduring a lot of hardships to make it where I am now feels like just yesterday.

The Scottish insults you say "Oh my God" to are fairly common in Glasgow and South West of Scotland.
May not say them to a kid... but certainly would to a teen. Especially a nephew who has annoyed sibling "what you done now ya wee prick?"
