Just found this show on Netflix a couple weeks ago, and I'm already on my second watch of it! It's pure comedy brilliance! Now I'm waiting for my "Two pints, prick" coffee mug😂
I'm 3 years late here, but Still Game is my comfort telly programme. Like Father Ted, there's no actually a bad episode. And the last one(series 9?) still brings tears to my eyes. They completed the whole years-long story absolutely brilliantly. And I love seeing folk from other climes enjoying the Scottish and English and Irish comedy. (Hiya Wales! Cannae no mention you lovely lyrical folk!) But it's great how comedy is universal and can cross all borders, if that makes sense😂
Some must watch episodes that i recommend 1. "Hatch" The one where Isa thinks Jack & Victor are gay and tells everyone. 2. "Cairds" The one where they play poker and have to get a buggy back off tam. 3. A two part episode. One called "Dug" and the other one called "Hoaliday" First part is the one where Jack books a holiday to visit his daughter in Canada, Jack and Victor argue about this, But victor ends up coming with him in the end. Part 2 is where they show them in Canada with Jack's family enjoying themselves. Mean while Isa and Winston and go on a date but it doesn't end well. 4. "Big Yin" The one where the young team cause trouble for the locals, and they get help from a long time friend who is sent down from the highlands to help them with the young team problem. 5. "Dial-A-Bus" The one where Robbie Coltrane goes nuts because of doughnuts and traps them on a bus 6. "Hard Nuts" The one where they all pretend to be hard men on a undercover TV show, but it doesn't end well. These are pretty much the best episodes there are others but these are the must watch episodes at least in my opinion.
Big Yin is defo on my top 5 Still Game episodes. Absoloute howler! I'd argue "Lights Out" and "Tappin" are underrated episodes though and well worth the watch.

This was made for BBC Scotland with a home audience in mind, and seemed to me so Scottish, I wondered if even the English would get it. But it turned out to be quite popular in England too, over the years. Nice to know an American can enjoy it too.

The grass and flats outside of Park Hill Secondry (not a real school) is up in Drumchapel. 100% positive it's round the road from my Step mum's place. And there's an Orange Hall (the one my Dad is a part of, don't start a bloody war about it) is just up from there. And its doon the road from Drumchapel Shopping Centre and Park. I would say it's nice but it's the drum. I love how you, a random American Joe understands Glasgow patter, and your clown cushion is creepy as fuck.

@@24magiccarrot Series 6 was the last series with the 2007 xmas and hogmany specials imo. The seven year gap between s6 and s7 was too much, it didn't feel like the same show in 2014. It probably didn't help with the main cast falling out but they also changed the format

But only through watching the Billy Connolly on tour (and his many amazing songs), Rab c Nesbitt (and mr boldly man), still game (and chewing the fat), and, the limmy show for last 20 years. So I'm basically fluent 👍

I think you'll like the season 3 episode "Cairds", the two main plot points in that one has some of my favourite go-betweens between the characters through the whole series.
Please do more Still Game next year, there's a lot of great episodes that you haven't seen yet. Plus there's 1 more Christmas episode called Cold Turkey and 1 more New Year's Eve episode too.

Episodes recommended: all! Still game is smashing. Is so easy love them, each of them are so lovely. But Isa is ma bestest (I'm Chilean)
