    As a fire protection professional I have to say this is good. Hal Guard's are known as 'clean agent' extinguishers, basically a halon replacement. Expensive but work great and won't cake your engine like powder can (if you use a powder on your truck be sure to clean the air system before starting the engine again). You have good quality extinguishers, metal body, metal valve with a pressure gauge and all fitted in perfect locations. Those mounting systems look brilliant, especially the bar clamp.
    Great educational video worth following. You put a lot of time, money and love into your truck, don't cheap out on the fire safety that protects it. In remote places there are no fire fighters to help you, it's on you to be properly prepared.

    My TJ caught fire on the way home from Fordyce Creek a few years ago. The rear seal on my transfer case came off while driving along the highway, it blew all the fluid right on to the muffler which caught fire. I did have a cheap-y fire extinguisher but I ripped the entire plastic top off the bottle with all the excitement. The extinguisher was useless. Luckily I quickly pulled into a gas station that was where I noticed the large plume of smoke behind my rig. I ran up to the cashier and asked for their fire extinguisher, ran back to the Jeep and put the fire out. Ever since then, I've had an ALL metal fire extinguisher mounted to the rear sport/roll bar!

    I had an electrical fire on my rig mid trail. Luckily I had a couple bottles of water to put it out.
    I immediately went out and purchased a fire extinguisher and now advise EVERYONE to have one in their vehicle at all times.

    Jason Good stuff! I have 3 of their Halguard extinguishers in my Jeep J20... I have one mounted on my Leitner box where my kitchen and fridge slide out. Grease fire out of control, no problem and best of all no powder all over everything! I have several dry agent extinguishers too... They come in handy as extras on the trail we you need to help someone else.

    Most people don't prepare for emergencies or have backup plans until something happens for real. Then, when we finally prepare, we forget to maintain.
    Things like data backup, first aid kit and fire extinguishers are extremely important but humans stay humans. Did you know that the word "human" in Arabic translate to "ensan" which is related to the Arabic verb "yansa" which translate to the English verb "forget!'

    Another great video brother! About 15 years ago, my handicapped mom was trapped in a burning van and almost died, now since my dad is also handicapped and I’m caring for both of them I’m concerned about their safety. Do you have any advice as to which extinguisher I should be looking at for my SUV, keeping one factor in mind, we live in northern Michigan where the temperature can drop to 40 below in the winter, so I can’t keep much in the car for safety.

    • @H3rperformance
      @H3rperformance 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, Hung. All UL listed fire extinguishers of a similar type must meet the same requirements regarding exposure to temperature extremes. Ours are "suitable for use at temperatures from -40F to 120F." Extinguishers that are regularly exposed to extremely high or low temperatures can have their seals compromised, possibly leading to premature leakage. It is important to follow the inspection and maintenance requirements on the extinguisher label, and inspect at least monthly. It is important to note that an extinguisher subjected to high ambient temperatures that leaks, will not "explode" suddenly.

    Take those two, mustang an ram out as soon as possible, you never want an extinguisher in an inclosed cab, you should install the mustang one in the trunk and the one in the ram in the bed. If something were to set them off while you are in the truck or car the contents inside the extinguisher could kill you. I run my units safety program and at the base im at this happened and the person died due to the extinguisher getting in his lungs.
