When me and my mom moved to the Texas pandhandle in 1980, one of our new neighbors warned us that if we stayed long enough to wear out a pair of shoes, we'd never leave. She was right.
I had to move to Mississippi from my home town of Lubbock for a new job a few months ago, and I havnt been able to go visit Lubbock or my family since. This song choked me up, Flatland Calvary is the sound of West Texas! There’s a good chance that the band won’t read this, but if y’all do tell Scott Farris that Cody DuBois from Fox34 says hi!
This comment made me sad 💔😩😭 sitting in my bed rn bout to cook dinner at home in Lubbock Texas, been thinking of moving to San Antonio Texas 😔 im going because my kids dad is moving there in a year and i cant live w out my kids😭😭😭💔💔💔💔 so im following them there and i have to be happy for them.. i just don't know if i will be Because this is home😩😭😔😒

Never seen a longer sunset than that of last night outside of Lubbock- 1/12/2023 and yes, goddamn, it was as beautiful as the slumber next to my lover in the back of an 18 wheeler rig.

I work here in west Texas and being out here for 5 years it feels like home and these songs hit me in the heart and I’m from texas but not Lubbock. It’s amazing to know this talent is from my state. And better yet that I can relate to many of their songs
Moved here from Ventura during the Pandemic. Was at UCSB, top school, traded for Tech. Love Lubbock. Unfortunately, Tech mandates DEI, so headed to Florida. Too bad. This town rocks.
gosh I knew that I knew that voice from somewhere. Had to go back and look him up. First discovered him a few yeara ago with the song “Tall City Blues” from Flatland Cavalry. One of my favorite country songs of all time.
Please stay true to yourself and true to your style of music and don't get too mainstream with your sound! You have a way of hitting right at people's ears so well. Love this style
Really fine. Beautifully written, well-sung. I've never been to Lubbock, but it's had a place in me since the rise of Buddy Holly in about '57. This song is so evocative, I have a strong sense of the place I've never been.

Nice song brother. Thanks for posting. Been a long time gone now, but LBK is where I grew up and I call it my hometown. Spent many nights hanging out at all the haunts but Adolph's was a go to. Anywhere that had good Karaoke really. Memories. I can almost smell that eastern wind now. Miss ya L-town!
I HAVE seen a prettier sunset sky. Twice, and they were both in the middle of the pacific off the back of the USS Kitty Hawk. When I was done with that, I came back home.😉

3 years later and I still love this song. I didn’t grow up in Lubbock but it will always be home.
Me too! Born and raised in Brownfield and Lubbock has always held a special place in my heart. Moved away in '92 moved back "Home" 27 years later 🥰💜
I'm from Lubbock, family is still there. I do miss the sunsets, open skies, Red Raiders. But I miss my family the most. Great song.
need this song on an album, been pining for it since 2019.
@Daxtyn Cornelius wondered the same thing, I pre ordered it and then noticed it wasn't on there.
“Damaged goods” would be nice on an album as well

Hell of a writer too. Pure talent running through Cleto.

Im a senior at Tech and a DFW native and now that I'm getting close to leaving I realized how much I love it

Lubbock is forgotten when it comes to big cities in Texas
We have a surprising amount of songs dedicated, not to mention Buddy Holly or Mac Davis who put us on the map

"The cotton in the wind we grow knee high" - I think
Take me home where the air is dry, and the cotton and the winter wheat gro-o-ow knee high
