I am really loving these videos. I am watching them with a huge, goofy smile on my face. If they can make me feel like this sat a home in bed then I can only imagine how wide your grin must have been.
Incredible! Your second lesson and she gives you to take off and landing in your second lesson! WoW my second lesson is Morrow lets see how it goes! Very good first landing by the way! Just wow!
That is awesome! I was watching flying videos and ogling at planes in the sky long before I started flying. ... And I still do. I am thrilled that you are enjoying the videos. Ill hopefully get the latest one uploaded in a few days.
Second lesson? You'd solo at 6. Good drills. And please keep those videos coming. V busy airspace, I thought it was bad here in London. Over here for a PPL it's about 10K GBP, maybe less if you are young and have lots of spare time. I've managed seven hours in the last six months, weather always against me. Australia is about 30% more, US about 30% less. A flying school here might offer it to you for 6800GBP, but if you are not Douglas Bader, I'd reckon with the higher figure.
You're welcome. Happy your enjoying the videos. As for how much It has cost me total.. Including The lessons, camera, accessories, headset, sunglasses, medical, AIP, Exams, Stationary, everything.... Thousands. Over 10K so far and I have 32hours as of today. Hope this answers your question. If you have any more feel free to ask.
About NZ$28,000 Total. For my entire PPL. Not including Exams, Government fees, Equipment, Medicals etc. Its a hard question to answer as I am not the typical student. I have done a lot of extracurricular flying such as club trips, night rating, aircraft type ratings, and beginnings of my CPL Studies. If you would like a more accurate estimate on what a PPL would cost you, contact your local flying school or aero club.
You learn quicker and is cheaper the more often you fly. It depends what you mean by "More competent" . Obviously i get more competent all the time, everytime I fly. Ive got 50dual hours and a few solo hours at the moment. I Have passed 4 out of my 6 PPL exams. Its almost impossible question to answer "when you start getting more competent" its indefinite. But hopefully I have answered your question. If you have any more specific questions I am happy to answer them. Cheers.
Great videos. 10k Kiwi for 32 hours is cheap. Its going to cost me over 25 Aussie for a PPL here in Sydney. Done 3 hours only so far and my god its hard. When do you reckon you start getting more competent?
Is annoying. The 162 has an incredible amount of float in the landing flare. The low tail doesn't make the flare any easier also. It is a tricky plane to land.
Do you have videos of your flights for CPL? I have been looking for videos of flight lessons exactly like the ones you've posted. They are great. Showing us exactly how it is inside the cockpit. Pity the instrument panel and your POV are not shown but I guess that would require two more cameras at least.
Thank you for your comment. I don't have any CPL videos as I don't start my CPL for another few weeks. I have recently bought a new camera which can strap around my head which can give instrument panel and my POV. Like these videos -> Raglan Fly-In - AR-RA 02112013 Slingsby T 67B Type Rating

Awesome video mate! nicely done!
Its a small GoPro Camera. I attach it with a suction mount to a little window in the ceiling of the cockpit.
Yes we did. I edited the engine runups out on this particular video to save time.
CFI Babe in the right seat.... awesome! :)

Did you guys not do the magneto check on the engine run up before take-off?
Thanks
I did this lesson over a year ago. Check out my other videos. I have my Private Pilot Licence now
How is the ground affect in the 162? It looks really rough.
Alright!
She is a great instructor though...
That's hard to believe , if you didn't know to keep your feet on the floor//// and you seemed nervous...
Or if you mean just the Camera setup.. $500 for the camera $100 for the voice recorder.

Sexy accent... Mee Rrrrow
Damn she's hot
Damn you're wierd
