Have been waiting to buy this exhaust for my VB. After research and going back and forth it’s a clear winner for not only the quality of exhaust but fit and sound. Rae has their game dialed in. It’s like an art.
This video finally got me to pull the trigger. I've been considering this exhaust for a while, but hadn't heard one with mufflers. Sealed the deal. Ordered today. Now to wait... :)
Thanks Kevin. Why does it have to be quad-tip? Yes, the OE system is quad-tip, but aftermarket can do better. Twin (EVO or Ausi RS-style) oval tips, or just straight 3"-3.5" tips would be perfectly fine in the rear valance cutouts. No, the WRX's square cutouts aren't as pretty as the BRZ's round cutouts, but that doesn't mean the WRX can't have dual single tips. The dual quad tips add unnecessary complexity, in my opinion of course. 🏁
expect leaks on the AWE slip joints. all my slip joints leak even after multiple adjustments and tightenings...yes, it's under the car and you will see it when underneath/on a lift
Kevin, what were you thinking waiting so long after you got the exhaust to install them. If I had one today, it would be on my car today. Still saving for it. I know it will be worth every penny.
How does that exhaust compare to the AWE that you took off? Would you ever consider adding the JDM muscle unequal length headers? I would be interested in adding them on my card, but would want to see a review from someone I trust. Also, please keep the WRX content going. I’m buying some more parts from you later this week and am looking forward to the candy. 😉
I'd say as far as the AWE touring edition this is a bit louder with a similar exhaust tone, but with a slightly more bass. I don't think I'll be doing UELs on this car, but I've some more Cobb goodies waiting to be installed!
I did the AWE Touring and after 4+ yrs, I'm ready for something different. Car always has a prop aircraft sound/buzz to it, even in normal driving.....
Both are fairly good dual Exits! however you'd want it resonated 100%. That's the main part that helps eliminate unwanted drone! Have you looked into a Remark exhaust for your budget?
Our exhausts are so big that it's next to impossible to find a customized heavy duty box big enough at a fair cost price for us to justify using "pretty packaging" for you all to rip, throw away/burn. So, we make our own with telescopic heavy duty boxes. Being a small business of 3 humans in a 1000sqft home garage- we try to do more labor in order to cut costs on the consumers end. We already eat so much cost in shipping to make them justifiable to purchase to consumers. Since 2021 in business we have never had an issue with damage of systems due to the heavy grade boxes we use. Kevin even said in his video that this exhaust has been packaged up for quite some time being shifted around from his basement, to the new shop, etc. It's probably been tossed around a lot. The box did it's job. We hope once we finish the new shop build, and recoup some funds from buying machines to make our turn around times faster- we will be able to invest in pretty packaging. If this is the only complaint, we will take it. 🦾
Although I'm a sucker for fancy packaging, when it comes to an exhaust I think the product itself is what's most important and this product speaks for itself. As long as it gets to me in one piece then we are all good!
Man, I love the fact that the exhaust popped on all the gear shifts 😂🔥

Thanks so much man, we can't wait to get a system built for you❤
@@rae-motorsports may I have a 10% off code? 🥺 I'll purchase tomorrow!
Would yall happen to know if it would be possible to attach a valvetronics universal muffler on the exhaust?@@rae-motorsports
That exhaust is flat out beautiful!! Like a work of art. Incredible craftsmanship and quality. Bravo to Rae Motorsports!! 👏👏👍👍
This is one of the nicest exhaust systems I’ve seen for this Wrx, makes me want to buy this car lol
I like how you’re able to talk normally and the camera barely picks up the notes with the windows up..def backs up your statement of sounding great
Can't wait for mine! These systems are top of the line 🔥🔥🔥
Would love to see a intermediate pipe install please!

This actually sounds really good . VB has some rumble to it
That exhaust system sounds amazing! Im checking prices for my REX
Let's gooo 🎉 We hope to see an order with your name on it soon!👩🏻🏭
@@rae-motorsports well, I blew a hole in piston #1. So probably gonna be a bit before I can get your exhaust 😆
Pop the UEL headers on there it’s sound SO mean on this platform

Those black tips are pretty slick
You know what they say....
if you get the stainless tips, your car will paint them black for free. Tips will need religious, regular cleaning to maintain their luster.....
Kev loves his black tips😂
🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking about making a comment like this too when I first heard it. I was like "paws! He just said that" lmao
Sup with the intermediary pipe
How's the drone at various speeds as compared to AWE touring? These are my two top picks.
Both of the exhaust have very minimal to no drone.
expect leaks on the AWE slip joints. all my slip joints leak even after multiple adjustments and tightenings...yes, it's under the car and you will see it when underneath/on a lift
Does resonated/non resonated make any difference with the pops and bangs?

Code vbwrxfl will save you pennies!
How do you get your exhaust to pop so easily?!
hey kevin. i see you in the fb group. do you have the intermediate pipe with this yet??
do they make exhausts for the brz/86 too? if not i’m def going for awe touring when i get the chanceto
I have my order in and am getting the SS tips but boy those black tips are 🔥. I’m second guessing my choice. 😊
don't clean your tips and you'll have black tips in several months...happened to my VA.

what radar detector do you have in this car?
Hey Kevin! I have the same one! I put up small video of random clips of it on my page.
How do you like it?
Love it man. I have had it for almost a year now and nothing compares to it. I have had other exhaust. And it just unreal what they are doing.
What sounds deeper/better this rae exhaust or the awe touring?
Awe track sounds best, then touring then this. But thats my opinion.
Hey kevin what kind of tire are you running on the VB?
great vid as always!
Ready to modify 😊
sounds good af
Glad you like it!!
How long did it take you to get this exhaust?? Hopefully less than 8 months
I waited 6 months for the exhaust. It's a long wait but worth it for the quality.
Don’t judge the book by its cover. It’s what’s the inside that counts. 😅
pricey...but spicy!
Fireeee
Any drone?
Nothing worth noting!
@@KevinVo my dude with the lightning fast responses! Appreciate your videos man! 🙌
waiting on the tomei video... hehe
I have a video idea that no one has done yet installing trd rear diffuser/bumper for the gr 86
Unfortunately, I already have the Voltex rear diffuser installed 😟
@KevinVo if u ever get a second rear bumper then would you do a tutorial on how to install it?
What zero drone exhaust do you recommend for 2017 Toyota 86?
What's your budget? Single exit? Dual Exit?
@@KevinVo thinking borla or corsa but wondering if there are other options for cheaper. Dual exit preferred.

Coming soon!

To be honest, I couldn't find my decibel meter haha
How is it going kevin this is guys!
🤣🤣🤣 hello guys!
Kinda pathetic job how they ship their product.
Right? $1500 and they cant even do presentable packaging

I'd rather recycle the brown paper than the plastic-covered foam that came w/my AWE system.
That sounds Horrible and dull. Straight pipe it from the header sounds a lot better no mufflers.
unless you have neighbors and arrive home after midnight, or leave before the sun rises
So the ask your tuner is from Clint/CSTuned.
Clint is the best human I've ever met!
