Tamiya (#58519) 1:10 Toyota 4X4 Pick Up Bruiser EP
The R/C Toyota Bruiser was originally released in 1985. It featured a realistic 3 speed transmission and a solid axle leaf spring suspension.
The 2012 edition comes with the same spectacular features. The original layout of the chassis has been kept while modern improvements have been discretely incorporated to bring added fun and function. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

I had no idea how to lock the diff! I might have read about it in 1985, but I don't really remember reading it ;) It still brings me back to 1985 when I see anything related to the bruiser running around on TH-cam!!! Thanks again for sharing this!!! ;)
I thought the product broke because I couldn't go uphill for the first run time.
But it couldn't go up because the diff lock wasn't done.👍👍👍
I think the original Bruiser was the same as the Hi Lux and Blazing Blazer and didn’t have diffs. The drive was solid from one side of an axle to the other. The rerelease Bruiser in 2012 came with diffs though.
When this came out in the 1985 issue of Radio Control Car Action, I was 14 years old! I wrote a letter to Tamiya for the information packet about this awesome rig. Well the original one anyway ;) I have wanted to get my hands on one since I was released!!! Thanks for sharing this new version, it's still a running work of Art!!!!! ;)

Cool vid, thanks for sharing! There should be two small pins in the bag with the spare screws. You can insert these in the differential to lock it. Just check your manual on how to do this. It's probably in Chinese but there are some pictures that explain how to do it as well. Cheers.

if I was applying the decals I would just use a hobby knife to cut out the O and the A and switch them so it says Toyota instead of Toyato. Anyway nice video, I was considering this truck but am a little concerned about buying a clone, I would rather have the original Tamiya but at this point I am starting to think the Bruiser is only holding such value based on nostalgia and if this clone is a better value, what do you think of it?

Although they were not accurately calibrated, the parts were pretty much the same, so I think they would be compatible.

Yeh perhaps you're right. Some guys film at 60fps and I think that makes a huge difference to realism.
