I love how Charlie is just getting a moment to shine a lot lately - he seems like such a cool dude, and based on that alone, he's quickly become one of my favorite drummers.
Hey Brandon, Thanks for everything you are doing with Drumeo. Dave Abbruzzese is a highly influential drummer who I think would make a fantastic Drumeo guest!
Charlie is absolutely killing it w Pantera. I was lucky enough to see Pantera in 2000 and I had been playing drums for 1 year at the time- needless to say seeing Vinnie and Dime made me want to practice even harder. Legends. RIP
I closed my eyes and just listened. I don't think he could've sounded any more like Vinnie Paul without actually being him. I don't think there's a better fit.
I’ve now seen Charlie 3 times. Twice with Anthrax, once with Pantera. He is a monster behind the kit. He deserves all the love he is getting right now.
I seen them there also. I think the same year. I've seen them 8 times. 7 original and once with Charlie and Zakk. I was lucky enough to meet them twice back in the 90's then back in 2010 I went to Dimebags grave. I need to make it back for Vinnie. R.I.P. Dimebag and Vinnie!!❤
I know there was some drama about these guys playing as "Pantera" at all, but I mean, I think Zakk and Charlie are perfect choices to pay tribute to the Abbot brothers. I think its all about honoring their legacy, not replacing them
Plus Phil is fucking killing it far and above anything he's done since ~2000 or so. He looks great and sounds even better. Proud of him for turning his shit around and living up to his potential
the problem is not what they do, ,it's a great idea. the problem is that they call it Pantera. it's not. "death to all" did it well and tastefully. this is just disrespectful. i wil attend the show but i can understand anybody that doesnt
@@hazardeur That's the mindset of a child. Everyone knows it's not the original "Pantera." Absolutely everyone going to this concert knows it's not the original Pantera & is just a tribute. If anything this tour is only creating new fans of Pantera & their music. Which is only making Phil, Rex & Dimebag & Vinny's families more money in royalties with all the new fans listening to & buying their music. Dimebag & Vinny would absolutely want Phil, Rex & their close friends to pay tribute to them & make a living. And if they wouldn't be upset, absolutely no one else has any right being upset. Many people just love drama & love to feign outrage over crap.
I poured over the Anthrax - Oidivnikufesin VHS as a kid and Charlie's excellent playing taught me so much. He's my absolute favorite drummer playing metal and always inspires with his creativity and awesomeness.
You can really see how one of a kind the Abbott boys really were. Not even the great musicians can duplicate their sound. Total legends with Phil and Rex. My all time favorite band ever!
Audiences are so different for this tour, with fans from back in the day being more grown up and mature. It looks so calm. I saw Pantera in Manchester - UK at the Apollo way back in the 90's as a young teenager (probably should have even been allowed in) and seats were being ripped up. It was wild, but times change!
Consider myself incredibly lucky to have seen the original lineup of Pantera dozens of times before the Abbott brothers passed; I have not seen them with Zakk and Charlie, but if I get a chance, I may have to go. Charlie has done a phenomenal job channeling Vince, and I am happy to see that they are making sure they honor the brothers.
I love this. Charlie is great! Zakk is a dream. It’s NOT Pantera. How could it be? But it’s fuckin hostile!!! It a band packed with my metal idols and I can’t wait to get a chance to watch this live!!!
Saw Pantera live last year and they were great! Benante and Zack really work for the authenticity! Loved it! For next Drumeo episode I would like to suggest: Mike Bordin from Faith No More!
My mom is the reason i know bout Metal music shaped my taste of music my was born in 1980 and her teenage life their the 90's she listen to all types of bands pantera one of them my mom is 43 now and we go to shows together and what now even listens to new bands that i show her i think its awesome that my mom loves this music and we can go to shows together and Dime had the nastiest riffs of all time if ask me
saw them the first time back in the early 80s, little club in Munster, TX.. i was like, dammmnn, these guys gonna be a big deal really soon! they were too big for that little club
Of course Charlie and Zakk are great musicians in their own right. Of course they do a great job of covering all the old Pantera songs we know and love. But at the end of the day, it's a Tribute Band.
Pantera needs to do a lot of pro-shot footage of their shows. Especially since basically none exists from the Dime & Vinnie era (I can really only think of the Live 101 Proof).
If I was Charlie, I'd put Anthrax on indefinite hiatus. Charlie's got to be 60 now, he's earned the right to be playing big arenas and cashing in. He wrote all the Anthrax material and kept the band going through thick and thin, enough now, the Anthrax brand is pocket money and a wage at best conpared to Pantera. Hes put his dues in, hes an amazing drummer and songwriter, he needs to make his money now while hes healthy, no one would begrudge that for him at this stage.
If Charlie and Zakk both quit their current bands/solo career and commit 100% to working with Phil and Rex, go in the studio and start cranking out new, original music and songs, then, MAYBE, I would consider them to be Pantera reborn. Until then, it's a tribute band and a side project for them, nothing more.
I love Pantera and wish Vinnie and Dime were here kickin ass on their next album and tour. But, sadly thats not going to happen. Zakke Wylde and Charlie Benante were the 2 best picks for Vinnie and Dime's representation to carry on that amazing band that was and now is again at least for a moment more.
Last time we played here......this new band called Alice in Chains played here. Early 90's. Long time ago. I was in my very early 20's in 1991 and i am nearing mid 50's now.
Zakk is an absolute beast guitar player in his own right but Dime was in a class all by his lonesome. Saw the OG Pantera 4 times but his version just doesn't do it for me. Love that they are putting the Pantera music out there though. For Dime and Vinnie!
I love how Charlie is just getting a moment to shine a lot lately - he seems like such a cool dude, and based on that alone, he's quickly become one of my favorite drummers.
I've known Charlie since kindergarten we grew up together in the Throggs Neck the Bronx he has a God given talent. So proud of him.
For me... Charlie is one of the best drummers especially live, good to see him here in Drumeo.
Thanks for hanging out with us, Charlie!🤘🏻
When you gonna do some justice over Sean Reinert career. Please
Is there any chance on getting that ride into massive production??
Hey Brandon, Thanks for everything you are doing with Drumeo. Dave Abbruzzese is a highly influential drummer who I think would make a fantastic Drumeo guest!
Hey Brandon love drumeo, can you make a cheaper plan tho that doesn’t include the lessons, just the drum tracks and sheet music
Great questions and interview skills, Brandon 🍻
Charlie is absolutely killing it w Pantera. I was lucky enough to see Pantera in 2000 and I had been playing drums for 1 year at the time- needless to say seeing Vinnie and Dime made me want to practice even harder. Legends. RIP
Niice! I too saw them in 2000, Hammerstein Ballroom, my goodness what a first concert that was!
Charlie has completely blown my mind with how authentically pantera his drumming sounds, love it
Charlie is god.
I closed my eyes and just listened. I don't think he could've sounded any more like Vinnie Paul without actually being him. I don't think there's a better fit.
That show was great. Lamb of god really set the tone. Then Pantera came out and finished it off. Such a fun time
One of the greatest thrash drummers of all time
I’ve now seen Charlie 3 times. Twice with Anthrax, once with Pantera. He is a monster behind the kit. He deserves all the love he is getting right now.
This Guy one of my favorite drummers, glad he’s on drumeo!
Seeing Floods live is something I never thought I'd ever see. They absolutely crushed it.
I never got to see Pantera back in the day, now they are one of my favorites and I got to see them in February of this year and it was a great show!!
This is so sick. Charlie is such a class act. His accuracy live is WILD. True professional. Whole band sounds great.
My favorite Pantera song since a kid has been shedding skin. Saw them in the 90s on the Trendkill tour with white zombie and eyehategod
Dudes fit like a glove love it
the live sound of that kit is amazing
I saw Pantera 3 times in 1993, Nassau Coleseum! That was one awesome year!!
I think its all about honoring their legacy, not replacing them
I think everybody liked the new Pantera the moment they started touring. They are really great.
The show must go on..

All this pantera stuff meaning more Charlie benante interviews is just a big win.
I poured over the Anthrax - Oidivnikufesin VHS as a kid and Charlie's excellent playing taught me so much. He's my absolute favorite drummer playing metal and always inspires with his creativity and awesomeness.
I saw pantera 98 in Finland. One the greatest gigs ever.
Hell yeah. I saw them in '92 with White Zombie. Best show 🍻
You saw Pantera in '98. You're seeing a Pantera Tribute Band in '24.
@@couchwarrior2449 true
another great segment with Charlie. I love the insight he gives us to his craft and behind the scenes. Thank you Drumeo!
You can really see how one of a kind the Abbott boys really were. Not even the great musicians can duplicate their sound.
Total legends with Phil and Rex.
My all time favorite band ever!
Charlie is replicating perfectly, zakk is butchering everything
charlie benante great drummer and awesome...
Audiences are so different for this tour, with fans from back in the day being more grown up and mature. It looks so calm. When I first heard about Pantera 2.0, I didn't know how to feel. But after seeing this, I'm all for it 🤘🤘
Love the live coverage. Hope you guys continue to do more stuff like this!
I Love Charlie playing drums!!!! Long life...........................................................
Damn I miss Dime and Vin.
Something we’re never gonna get back and glad I saw them multiple times.
Sounds great kicking ass always ⚡ Pantera ⚡great on the drums Charlie ⚡💥
best man to do this!!!!!!
I always loved Charlie since the first time I heard Among the living
😭 Thank you for the greatest comeback in the history of comebacks.
Thats a stretch
THE LINE AUDIO IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE. THANK YOU DRUMEO.

Charlie has done a phenomenal job channeling Vince, and I am happy to see that they are making sure they honor the brothers.
The only one not honoring the brothers is Phil. Zakk and Charlie are nothing but respectful and sincerely humble towards the brothers.
Charlie, you rock!
I love this. Charlie is great! Zakk is a dream. It’s NOT Pantera. How could it be? But it’s fuckin hostile!!!
It a band packed with my metal idols and I can’t wait to get a chance to watch this live!!!
I was there, what an amazing show it was!
Get your pull! Hell yeah Charlie!
Charlie Benante ROCKz! 🤘🏼🥁🥁🤘🏼
Charlie is a true heavy metal treasure, far beyond measure. Can't wait to see Pantera in Seattle in August with Metallica!
LOVE the big "3" on the back of his shirt! Great tribute to Peter Criss!
Saw Pantera live last year and they were great! Benante and Zack really work for the authenticity! Loved it!
For next Drumeo episode I would like to suggest: Mike Bordin from Faith No More!
I was at the show Charlie mentioned! Clash of the Titans! That is what turned me on to Alice!
Charlie is the coolest drummer ever. Vinnie would be proud. Or IS proud.
Drums sound freaking Amazing 👏
TOTALLY AWESOME!!!
Thanks for coming to Australia Charlie. Knotfest Sydney was the best show i have ever been to
This is actually a great video i was waiting this as a huge pantera fan❤🤘🤘🤘🤘
Charlie you are an inspiration and great content ✌️🤘⚖️🥁🇦🇺
Video 56 of commenting until Drumeo makes a "Best Rudimental Drummer of the Year" award category
I saw that tour with Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Alice In Chains in Michigan. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to
Saw Pantera in February 10 days after I saw TOOL. Best two concerts I’ve ever been to.
My two best concerts:
Pantera Ft Worth, TX 1992
Tool
Ft Worth 2007
I love Drumeo, it's my current go-to TH-cam channel, and I'm not even a drummer.
I think Charlie's carrying on Vinnie's legacy very well. He's got great timing in the pocket. He doesn't try to do to much.
Charlie rules!
I've been on a Great Southern Trend Kill run for about 25 years plus..FLOODS
I was at this show 🤘🏻nice to meet you and film a little clip with you Brandon
"My warmup is kinda the same. I watch drumeo videos..." lol that was great
This is awesome!!
"The Show Must Go On"
Glorious!

I honestly cant think of two better replacements for Vinnie and Dime. You really cant get better this is solid.
This is awesome
Great tribute the the brothers.
Awesome!!! 😎 👍
The new Anthrax album is complete!!!!!
Join Brandon Toews and Charlie Benante as they discuss playing 🥁 with Pantera in the most iconic venue in the world, Madison Square
Was hoping to see more live drumming.
Of course Charlie and Zakk are great musicians in their own right. Of course they do a great job of covering all the old Pantera songs we know and love. But at the end of the day, it's a Tribute Band.
Where’s the pro shot footage from MSG?! God damn they sound good, put out that show pleeeeeease!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Not a Pantera fan but Charlie is a top bloke and awesome drummer
an idol 🤘
Getcha pull!
Pantera needs to do a lot of pro-shot footage of their shows. Especially since basically none exists from the Dime & Vinnie era (I can really only think of the Live 101 Proof).
That was cool 😎
Legend
Need that sbd audio!
I see Charlie has a Van Halen tat on his right arm at 6:30. Representing King Edward! 😊🥹

Come to Brazil again 🇧🇷
Still wearing Peter’s number. Well done, Charlie… well done..
I was at this show, awesome. There was a banana guy in the pit as well 😂
Rock on 🤘

Great content from this channel. Please look into Morgan Rose, Ray Luzier, Shannon Larkin, and Zac Farro. Theyd all do well with your format.
👏👏👏👏 Charlie!!!!🇨🇱
that's cool.
Man this is so awesome thanks Drumeo and thanks Brandon 💪🥁
Pantera Tribute.
Everyone saying that this is the first time seeing Pantera , no it isn't because there's no comparison to dimebag and Vinnie
Everytime I see these videos it takes me back to seeing them. One of the best gigs I've seen! 🥲
Я не понял - вы удалили видео с Чадом Смитом где он играет Дуа Липа???
@brandontoews please invite Baard Kolstad from Leprous!!
Last time we played here......this new band called Alice in Chains played here. Early 90's. Long time ago. I was in my very early 20's in 1991 and i am nearing mid 50's now.
The best thrash song & phils best vocals Psycho holiday
Best cover band around
