Had no idea this existed until this hour. What a beautiful thing for our girl to do. Carly Simon was a huge star and to honor her and support her in this way is deeply beautiful. Thank you, Carly. We love you so much. And many thanks to Taylor Swift who is always finding a way to share the love, share the music, share the fame, share the honors. May God bless these fantastic musicians!!
I’m a 20 year old girl who’s been a Swiftie since fearless era. I’m also a lifelong rock and roll enthusiast thanks to my parents. I was raised on James Taylor, Carly Simon, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty, Neil Young, The Beatles, the stones, the dead, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, etc…One of the things I love most about Taylor is that she loves all these legends just as much as I do and always pays tribute to them. I’ve always felt like Taylor would be the most fun person to just hang out and listen to records with. I love that she has the same taste in music as me and I love that the rest of my generation is starting to collect records and listen to 60s/70s and current music. Taylor’s known to be a very nice, cool and down to earth good person and would and probably has a record collection of all the same artists as me lol
As a quote “Boomer” I think Swift is one of the few truly talented current pop stars, she doesn’t lip sync and can actually play an instrument. I put Gaga in the same category.
Taylor has always understood where she comes from and honours that heritage. She also pays it forward to the next generation. We are starting to see the first generation of artists who were raised by her and you can see her influence already…
More and more rock and pop stars joining the Octogenarian Club. Also blows my mind that Ric Ocasek would be nearing 80 if he were still with us. I think Pittsburgh's Donnie Iris is nearing 80 also.
Carly Simon is known to have a case of stage fright, hence the reason she hasn't done many tours. In fact a true rarity. But somehow Taylor Swift got her on stage and sang one of her most amazing songs ever! That says quite a lot about Ms. Swift. Hats off to Carly Simon!!
So true!! She was always more comfortable outside with wind blowing in her hair!! There is a great performance of her. I want to say Martha's Vineyard. Outside. Back when bands and singers had to know what they were doing. Nowadays to many do. Glad to Taylor isn't one of them. Respect.
Such genuine respect and admiration is infectious. What TayTay does, the crowd follows - she is schooling them in appreciating the musical legends that came before her. Brilliant.
2 national treasures. I loved Carly when I was a young man, still do. Taylor is just so talented, smart. and just about the best thing that has happened to popular music in decades.
Wow!!! What a great show. 2 iconic singers on one stage. And…yes…we’ll always wonder WHO that song is about. Probably she’ll tell us in a book someday. You could hear how strong her voice still is when she’d sing “you’re so vain” by herself while Taylor sang on in song. Thanks Taylor. Carly is from my generation and was good to see her on a stage where she belongs.
If anyone ever wonders why Taylor Swift is a much loved and revered phenomenon, this is just one of the reasons. It's her admiration and respect for other artists. She knows her craft. She studied it. She respects those who came before her. Those are the people she learned from. She shares this history with her followers and applauds it. It's magical.
It’s so nice,Taylor Swift and Carly Simon on the same song, thanks Taylor,Carly is always one of my favourite artists of all times and will be remembered forever, you will be the next one too I reckon, love to have you two together.
She definitely was up there with many giants, Carole King, Janice Joplin, James Taylor, Neil Young. Forget about the Super groups like Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd,Pink Floyd etc. No doubt the '70's was the golden age of music.
@@cardo1111 I totally agree, but I think Janis is in a class of her own…it always seemed that she giving us her deepest, most precious and private parts of her soul. I still miss her. Cry Baby, A Little Piece of My Heart, Down on Me. People still know her music, and she’s been dead longer than she was alive.
AS iconic? Taylor’s fame is great and I admire her work ethic and humanity but she’s no Carly freakin’ Simon in the musical department. Young fans just have NOTHING to discern from. Taylor would have been nobody in the 60s and 70s
I can imagine a Taylor Swift fan’s parent being ho hum about bringing their kid to a concert and then suddenly Carly Simon shows up and they’re over the moon. Maybe they got a little more appreciative of Taylor’s music too
Carly Simon is one of my faves. Love new England states, Boston included. Never was much of a fan of the Taylor swift. But gotta give her credit, kind of impresed. Thankyou Ms Swift
Well this made my day! One of the greatest female singers of all time, with the upcoming talent. No sugn of stage fright in sight. Can't even imagine how many times I've listened to Carley Simon. A true legend of my younger years.
Wow! That song was part of the soundtrack of my early years trying to find out who I was. Love Carly! And recently becoming a Taylor Swift fan! I'm 71 and love about every kind of music.
I read in Carly Simon’s book that she experienced stage fright in her early performances, I see she really did a splendid job here and no sign of nervousness.
Taylor and Carly looked like they were having such a good time. The one video that beats this is Carly and James Taylor doing Mockingbird. You could feel the love in that one. I'm glad I stumbled across this while looking for Joni Mitchell's performance at the Grammy's. Both 80-year-old legends still going strong!
What I remember more is watching Sweet Baby James do “Up On the Roof” on Sesame Street. My kids could have cared less but I loved it, esp. when he started hopping around. He made that song his own. How lucky we were if we grew up in the 60s and 70s. And how fun to learn about Taylor’s name.
That was completely Awesome and Totally Fantastic. Carly Simon was and is a Fantastic Talent whom We Never could Get Enough Of. Thank You Taylor for Sharing Her with Us Again. 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤔😎😎❓❓🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸.

The song? You're So vain stirred my curiosity about Nova Scotia and I went up there a couple times back in 2016 and 2017 and had a great time. Didn't see the total eclipse of any sun or moon or anything. However, I did tour oak Island with Charles barkhouse
The Red Tour was the best tour for Swizzle - never hit that peak of both artistry in the music and songwriting since. Best album of 21st century, at least for me.
Love how gracious they both are. When a near-80 Mae West appeared in a movie with a 20-something Raquel Welch, Raquel Welch said she was absolutely mean, spiteful and cruel to her.
I have never heard Taylor Swift before but I love Carly singing this song. It reminds me of when I was only 14 or 15 and this really handsome guy asked me to dance at our youth disco . I asked him what his name was and he said Tarzan so we danced to this song and it reminds me of him. He knew he was damn good looking:)
Must be one of the best feelings in the world - being on stage singing a song with a fellow songwriter that you admire.
Must have been one of the best feelings in the world to be in the audience with a surprise duet of one of the most iconic songs of the 70’s as well!
yeah im so happy for Carly!

And not just any old guest... But Carly fucking SIMON 😱
Yet another reason to love them both. Carly Simon has stage fright. Taylor Swift managed to get Carly to sing to a STADIUM! It’s just so beautiful ❤

I love that Taylor uses her spotlight to honor the greats who came before her, and introduce her fans their music. Classy.
Yes, very classy. Carly Simon is a great and we all know Taylor Swift is the next gen.

Taylor's IQ level is pretty high I believe. She almost never uses "umm" or "uhhh" when she speaks. She is in that next level of intellects.
Carly still rocks that beautiful voice of hers. Thanks for coming out to join your friend Taylor. Thanks TS. Wonderful idea.
