Over the years, I have received many requests for more information about Venture - the boat. This video is my attempt to address those requests from Venture's conception to how she is today.
We only meet a few people in our lives who we really really look up to. Tony Fleming has been one of those people for me. This guy is a real class act. Several years ago I rode the Alaska ferry down from Skagway, AK to Bellingham, WA to see my granddaughter on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. Much later while watching one of Tony's videos I spotted a scene where he passed one of the Ferries on the inside passage and comparing the dates of the video with the dates of my journey I realized I may have been on that ferry. It gave me a sense of ownership of that short segment of Tony's video. Enough so that I emailed him to tell him of my experience in sharing a channel with a Fleming yacht on which he was aboard. I am just an average working class guy and I did not really expect a responce and if I got one figured it would be no more than a few words. I could not believe the beautiful letter he wrote me in reply thanking me for sharing my experience with him. And he then went on to recommend a number of places I should look up if I did that passage again. His letter was almost a full page long and was very personable. I felt like part of his family. What a great gentleman. He gave me great faith in humanity and made me realize how awesome people can be even after their great success. I take my hat off to this man and always look forward to the next video from him. What a great life for a man who deserves a great life. Thanks for all the wonderful hours of advanture with Tony and Venture.
I cant think of a better advertisement for your ships than this video. The attention to detail you have put into your designs is superb! Comfort, peace of mind, and practicality, all in one vessel, and with no compromises! I daydream of owning such a marvel of craftsmanship!
As a past staff architect and design engineer for a major American yacht builder (115' and up) I can't give higher praise for the craftsmanship and thoughtful details that have gone into this vessel. The narration and visual tour was a genuine treat. Congratulations on an outstanding job.
Not exactly true. I’ve seen 55’s for sale in the 500k range and if that’s sliced 26 ways, then you’re looking at 20,500 a piece for a 2 week share in the boat, with a 2500 annual maintenance fee.
@@davidblalock9945 didnt know they did time share type deals for motor yachts. But it wouldn't be an ideal situation for live aboarders. Interesting idea.
Never imagined explorer vessel to be fibreglass and yet tough as old trawlers. Well done to Fleming. Beautiful true nautical boat, not a floating city penthouse apartment. You know your on sturdy boat and can trust to survive through a storm most yachts would sink. All things considered in this beautiful ocean going craft.
I have to ditto the past comments, but need to add that the very sincere preface where Tony is explaining this Yacht's concept to production and delivery; was what sold me in his namesake company and HIS yachts. I could feel the love he has for HIS "Little Ships" and his PRIDE in HIS product; rare in this world that we have to live in, today. He is the most NATURAL and EFFECTIVE SALESPERSON I have had the pleasure of hearing his presentation. After being a corporate technology salesperson for 45 years, this love and commitment to one's craft do not exist any longer, sadly. If I had the wherewithal to make such an investment in LOVE, this boat would be SOLD! You certainly have my sincere respect....Mr. Tony Fleming! NO COMPROMISES!!!

I was lucky enough to meet this brilliant fella at the south Hampton boat show. He personally showed me around his boat. At the time I didn't realise what a privilege that was ,but I instantly feel in love with fleming boats My dream is to one day own a fleming 65 and spend a few years going everywhere 😊
I subscribed Fleming Yachts on TH-cam at once since I discovered incidentally a few days ago their video on how the severe tropical typhoon Wanda damaged their shipyards in Hong Kong in 1962, an incidence which arouses so much of my memories of the time when I, as a teenager, naively fought bare-handed in the typhoon alone in open-air trying to protect my father's fragile shop being battered at the mercy of the gales. The incidence, the memories, the scenes and most importantly Mr Fleming's soft and clear voice was the reason why I finished the video with utmost attention to the end. He spoke clearly and every single word was uttered so precisely that it rivalled the pronunciation offered by dictionaries. The listening is so easy that it's just an enjoyment by itself. This video on 'Venture' is just superbly produced, presented besides being informative and educational. Thanks Mr Fleming.
Oh God , Please grant me a ride with this team, I have watched all the videos and never enjoyed any other better than these, I am 82 years of age, and now have a new and maybe my last dream. Amen.
After more than 40 years sailing, as I m retired and unable to maneuver a sailing boat, being disabled, that would be my dream, at 72, but there is only one problem: A very small retirement .... Fantastic video, had an opportunity to tour one of your 55' hulls yesterday. Hull # XXX I won't say but she is beautiful. From stem to stern. The engine room was incredible. A CLASS act!
It’s somewhat hard to describe in words what makes Tony’s videos so special. Is it his soothing voice narrating every one of them? Is it the superb quality of the photography? Is it the solid workmanship that goes into the design and production of Fleming Yachts? The beauty of their lines? Probably all of these and more. Sadly, only a few of us will every own one of these yachts but the rest of us can still be virtually transported into the world of Venture. Well done Tony telling the story of Venture and giving us a glimpse of the Taiwanese ship yard and their dedicated workers. Most professional motor yacht video I have ever viewed. I've watched thousands literally. I now believe this ship, as it currently sits and equipped, is the perfect yacht and live aboard and expedition vessel for regular sea faring boaters. It just goes to show you that a state of the art mega facility is not required to build perfection. The conception and delivery of Venture is quite a story! She is a beauty with plenty of muscle and might. The modern Euro styled yachts today, simply can not stand up to the classic lines and form of Venture! She is traditional for true yachtsmen/adventurers and not disco party boys! I love this vessel!! In my wildest dreams, if I could afford her; she would be my live aboard home. My other wish, would be to see compilations of Ventures experiences, in less than desirable weather, with more detail on the handling of such conditions. And, more glimpses of life onboard if she is rocking and rolling. LoL, next time just take a film crew with you! Great video, great story!👍

I worked at Delta Marine in Sidney, BC back in 2006 when Venture had her engines replaced. I completed some service and maintenance work on her during that time and I have always marvelled at the quality and attention to detail put into Fleming yachts. It was an absolute pleasure.
As a person hard of hearing, it is a sheer delight to hear someone narrate a video in such a clear and concise voice, understandable to the degree I can shed my pesky hearing aids and still hear clearly. rhythm, tempo and clarity are superb !!!!

Tony, I have always considered Fleming Yachts to be at the pinnacle of personal yacht design. Almost surely, I will never be able to afford a yacht of my own, but if I were going to purchase a power yacht, Fleming would be at the top of my list. However, before I consider a power yacht, I would be looking at a sailing catamaran. For one of those, I believe that Privilege yachts come very close to the design philosophy that went into the design and building of a Fleming Yacht. Privilege Catamaran's are the same build quality and would cater to the sailing equivalent of those people who would consider a Fleming Yacht. I wish you continued success with Venture in your trips and adventures. Thank you for sharing them over the years with all of us land-locked people who, if we could, would be at sea with you.

She is simply the Finest Trawler I have ever laid eyes on. The attention to every detail is just so well thought out and executed to perfection. It's a vessel I can say there is NOTHING I would change. I would love to take her on the Viking Run from Newfoundland to Greenland to Iceland and across to Norway/Sweden/ and upwards to 80 North. I can only hope each night as I am in deep sleep I have vivid dreams of my journeys aboard Venture and Captaining her to give others the opportunity of a lifetime. What a great video. My father-in-law who hailed from Norwich, a mechanical engineer, was a boater here in Niagara Falls Canada. We spend many vacations on his 37' Chris Craft - the Erie Barge Canal, Welland Canal, Lake Ontario and points further. He reminds me of you with your technical but logical mind. Cheers!

I keep watching over and over, learning a tidbit of history, rules of the sea, philosophy and just curiosity of sailing to hidden gems.
I met Mr. Flemming and toured Venture at the Seattle Boatshow 7-8 years back, he is a true gentleman and a scholar. Thanks for these videos!

Almost surely, I will never be able to afford a yacht of my own, but if I were going to purchase a power yacht, Fleming would be at the top of my list. However, before I consider a power yacht, I would be looking at a sailing catamaran. For one of those, I believe that Privilege yachts come very close to the design philosophy that went into the design and building of a Fleming Yacht. Privilege Catamaran's are the same build quality and would cater to the sailing equivalent of those people who would consider a Fleming Yacht.

Possibly one of the best and most informative cruising boat videos ever.
She is simply the Finest Trawler I have ever laid eyes on. The attention to every detail is just so well thought out and executed to perfection. It's a vessel I can say there is NOTHING I would change. I would love to take her on the Viking Run from Newfoundland to Greenland to Iceland and across to Norway/Sweden/ and upwards to 80 North.
I can only hope each night as I am in deep sleep I have vivid dreams of my journeys aboard Venture and Captaining her to give others the opportunity of a lifetime. Perhaps someday when I awaken from the dream, Her Keys will be sitting on my nightstand, and my life changed forever.

What a great video. My father-in-law who hailed from Norwich, a mechanical engineer, was a boater here in Niagara Falls Canada. We spend many vacations on his 37' Chris Craft - the Erie Barge Canal, Welland Canal, Lake Ontario and points further. He reminds me of you with your technical but logical mind. Cheers!
