I choose to be kind to myself! It's been a trying summer, but now that it's fall it's time to start a new cycle! I feel best when yoga is apart of my daily cycle. I deserve to be kind to myself and get my routine back!
Today I completed 365 days of yoga. The first time I did yoga was 1 year ago. I’m 57, my daughter and wife practice and I decided to start. Little did I know how addictive yoga is! About three months in, I made the conscious decision to do a full year. There is something unique and remarkable about Adriene’s kind, playful nature and her talent for convincing people to just try things, the idea that you can’t fail because success is in the attempt. I bow to her with an outpouring of gratitude. Thank you for the surprising journey, what with old dogs and new tricks sharing the relationship they do.
I'm 57 too Chuck. On 15th May I hit 500 consecutive days - while I was holidaying on the Greek Island Rhodes. Yoga (and Adriene) has made a huge difference to my life, and I am so grateful to have found this daily practice. Namaste 🙏

I had my last day at my old job yesterday, finished at 3am, and come home completely exhausted after working 22 of the last 34 hours. This was a job that affected me very negatively both physically and metal. I got burned out and depressed, and stopped doing things I love like yoga and reading books. At the same time, I've never drunk so much wine on weekdays before ... Not a place I want to be. So today I woke up to an email from Adriene "Today, In Fact, Could Be A Turning Point". I did yoga for the first time in over half a year, and tears ran when Adriene spoke at the start of this video. I have now got a job that is about something I love, on a career path I want to be on, with morals I can put behind a hundred percent. The future looks bright again. Just wanted to say thank you Adriene for always being there with wise words when we are ready to get back to the yoga mat. 🧘♀️ A new beginning - back to me ✨

I work a factory job since Aug this year. I love it because im physically active, but my body is not happy with the reptition. Ive gotten stronger but out of balance. Like you I stopped doing Adrienes video and its not a good thing. Im job hunting now as well and will go into work this week until something falls. Once I seitch jobs, I have to be responsible for my exercise vs, my job being about that. Good luck and good health to the both of you!

Wow I could have written this myself and only 3 weeks ago too. We had been back and forth for 3.5 years truing to be together then he ended it on a whim. I also know there must be something better out there and someone who can hear my needs and work with them. I hope you are OK x
Just celebrated my 30 year anniversary. Not a perfect relationship but one worth continually working on. I feel blessed to have come this far. This video couldn't have been better timed: Today, I have my last session of therapy after 3.5 years, tomorrow I turn 30 and next week I'm saying goodbye to my volunteer job and start my first payed job since 5 years. So many cycles are ending and starting, this made me feel a moment of peace in between all those shifts. Thank you so much!
For a few weeks now, it was hard for me to get on the mat, sometimes I only managed to motivate myself before going to bed, sometimes I skipped it entirely. Today I woke up and this is the first thing I did. I am finally back on track!! This chaotic time comes with so many different struggles for all of us. I am sending love to everyone practicing here with me, if you're struggling too, just remember to be patient. Healing is a not a straight line, it has ups and downs :) I am so proud ☀️
SAme! I thought I wanted to "catch up" and do all the classes from last week and then I just calmed down and realized I needed to rest and just hop back in instead of beating myself up about being "behind"
@@mzgloriad I wish there were a calendar for people who just want to “be super chill”. I guess I can go through at the start of the month and make any adjustments. I know when they get too challenging I hurt myself and fall off the wagon.
Good thing that you did it! I find that when I do it right away, first thing in the morning, It gets to become a habit. If I decide to do it later on the day I hardly ever do so. I feel like everything around me is changing and uncertain, so I hang on to things like these. Yoga every morning, daily food routine, things like that.
I loved returning to this practice, so suitable for a senior yogi with arthritis. I didn’t worry about my inflexibility, I just met my edge and breathed deep in each pose. It was true therapy for me as we slowly worked through this sequence. Adriene, you have an amazing way of guiding us safely through. The benefit is enormous, enough to feel the heat and raise the heartbeat .... perfect. See you tomorrow for our last day. 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♂️🙏💕
I was inspired by your intention to not get distracted by flexibility levels. I decided I needed to not worry about my strength and it was really hard. I feel very weak and the three like a dog repetition was good in that it helps me to remember to take deep breaths and just rest in a pose I can do. I don’t know how you did this with the pain you have. I do think it helped my pain in my head even though I was bitter most of the time. I’m grateful I did it. 🙏🏻💕
Laura, I need to keep positive as I’m dealing with some serious family health issues, so my YWA is a way of escaping and absorbing myself in a daily morning practice. I find it challenging but by meeting my edge I know I’m doing all I can to keep strong. Today marks a year since somebody broke my heart, and I couldn’t have come this far without your help and the magic you keep sharing. Perfect timing with this. With the end of this school year, I'm ending my time in my current district and moving to a new school district 7 states away. It's a welcome change but a terrifying one and of course a bittersweet ending to a chapter of my life. Intention for today is to remain open and trust in the universe.

Just picked up my yoga routine yesterday again after not doing any yoga or other workouts during the summer. Following the september calender was a good choice. The intention that did pop up while doing this practice is: I am back (to my workout routine). :) And it means I can wish YWA happy 11th birthday. I'm always coming back to these yoga practices. And I somehow can't wait fot next years 30 day challenge to start 2024. :)

Motivate day 18 was definitely the right practice for me today. Tonight I have a celebration planned with all my friends for having navigated my way through cancer treatment. Whether it has been successful or not remains to be seen but it has certainly been successful in giving me a renewed sense of life. We are also celebrating both my daughter's and my birthday so couldn't have picked a better practice. Thankyou 🙏💝

EMBODY | March 19, 2022 | 💞 This is one of my favourite flows, starting with gentle stretching, preparing for the soil for new growth. Followed by getting the energy flowing - letting go and moving out anything that doesn't serve us so we can start fresh. I really appreciate when Adriene leads us through a repetitive flow because it allows us to get fully present and fine tune without rushing on to the next shape. Apparently my glutes and hamstrings really needed a stretch too, so thankful for that opportunity! 🙏🧘♀
I needed this today Adriene. Your yoga calendar is giving me purpose right now with the way the world is. I feel connected to a community in this time of global isolation 💕 we aren't alone and we are all going through this together. I've sadly fallen out of my habit of a daily yoga practice for the last few months because uni got really stressful. However, today, with about three weeks to go until my summer break, I realised that yoga is exactly what I need right now, when I'm more stressed than ever. Hope I'll hold myself accountable and show up again tomorrow 💛
Day 29 Reset, lovely soft practice at the beginning which changes to rapid and vigorous one at the end! I was out of breath at the end since I couldn't balance breathing with moves and I lost my focus! Anyways it was great to see change in both pace and movements! I will try to do this one more time to have better concentration on breathing and grounding myself!😍

Rebirth was a wonderful morning winter practice for me today. I so much enjoy doing all of the poses and find them all challenging and wonderful to be in the moment, mind, body and soul. I love rolling all the way up at the end of a practice but not once, but a few times. Have a wonderful day Adriene and Yoga community. x
Rebirth? After today's practice, I felt it in my faith in my yoga abilities. I had trouble setting an intention but came up with: "do better." It applied so well to the little things, better breathing, a better lunge, not perfect, but better.
I pretty much sobbed through half of this one but I’m proud of myself for still finding it in myself to practice today. If I weren’t feeling so hopeless this would be the perfect message for me in my current state but I’m sure the message will have stuck with the slightly more hopeful part of me that I’m finding hard to reach today. In a time where I am struggling with change I am glad to have ywa, the single constant in my life. Hope the breath-bridge-move fam is having a better day than I am!

@Ginatus I can relate. I spaced out practicing: "Yoga for the Classroom" morethanlikely because my husband was chatting with me majority of that session. At least we show up to our mats.
I really dragged myself to the mat today, for day 140 of 140 consecutive days of yoga. I have a chronic illness that causes a lot of pain and really affects my mobility and the past few months have been incredibly difficult as my condition deteriorates. I've been feeling so low for a while now, and have been really dreading starting a masters degree a few days from now. Something clicked for me mentally during this practise and coming out the other side of these wonderful twenty-four minutes I know that I've got this. Thank you Adriene.
I have never commented in the community before, but felt compelled to today. After having a rollercoaster kind of day and feeling emotionally exhausted, I finally received some much needed great news. Now, I feel that what causes these rollercoaster for me is the compulsion to control what often times is simply out of my control. I need to give myself permission to let go and know that, in the end, it will all be okay. I guess that's what rebirth is all about: Letting go of what no longer serves and embracing what is and what does serve. Thank you Adriene for helping me in this journey of self-discovery. It's been almost a year of daily practices and it has truly changed my life. Thank you, Namaste to all.

I had my last day at my old job yesterday, finished at 3am, and come home completely exhausted after working 22 of the last 34 hours. This was a job that affected me very negatively both physically and metal. I got burned out and depressed, and stopped doing things I love like yoga and reading books. At the same time, I've never drunk so much wine on weekdays before ... Not a place I want to be. So today I woke up to an email from Adriene "Today, In Fact, Could Be A Turning Point". I did yoga for the first time in over half a year, and tears ran when Adriene spoke at the start of this video. I have now got a job that is about something I love, on a career path I want to be on, with morals I can put behind a hundred percent. The future looks bright again.
Just wanted to say thank you Adriene for always being there with wise words when we are ready to get back to the yoga mat. 🧘♀️

I work a factory job since Aug this year. I love it because im physically active, but my body is not happy with the reptition. Ive gotten stronger but out of balance. Like you I stopped doing Adrienes video and its not a good thing. Im job hunting now as well and will go into work this week until something falls. Once I seitch jobs, I have to be responsible for my exercise vs, my job being about that. Good luck and good health to the both of you!

This video couldn't have been better timed: Today, I have my last session of therapy after 3.5 years, tomorrow I turn 30 and next week I'm saying goodbye to my volunteer job and start my first payed job since 5 years. For a few weeks now, it was hard for me to get on the mat, sometimes I only managed to motivate myself before going to bed, sometimes I skipped it entirely. Today I woke up and this is the first thing I did. I am finally back on track!!
This chaotic time comes with so many different struggles for all of us. I am sending love to everyone practicing here with me, if you're struggling too, just remember to be patient. Healing is a not a straight line, it has ups and downs :)

SAme! I thought I wanted to "catch up" and do all the classes from last week and then I just calmed down and realized I needed to rest and just hop back in instead of beating myself up about being "behind"
@@mzgloriad I wish there were a calendar for people who just want to “be super chill”. I guess I can go through at the start of the month and make any adjustments. I know when they get too challenging I hurt myself and fall off the wagon.
Good thing that you did it! I find that when I do it right away, first thing in the morning, It gets to become a habit. If I decide to do it later on the day I hardly ever do so. I feel like everything around me is changing and uncertain, so I hang on to things like these. Yoga every morning, daily food routine, things like that.
I loved returning to this practice, so suitable for a senior yogi with arthritis. I didn’t worry about my inflexibility, I just met my edge and breathed deep in each pose. It was true therapy for me as we slowly worked through this sequence. Adriene, you have an amazing way of guiding us safely through. The benefit is enormous, enough to feel the heat and raise the heartbeat .... perfect. See you tomorrow for our last day. 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♂️🙏💕

I was inspired by your intention to not get distracted by flexibility levels. I decided I needed to not worry about my strength and it was really hard. I feel very weak and the three like a dog repetition was good in that it helps me to remember to take deep breaths and just rest in a pose I can do. I don’t know how you did this with the pain you have. I do think it helped my pain in my head even though I was bitter most of the time. I’m grateful I did it.

Laura, I need to keep positive as I’m dealing with some serious family health issues, so my YWA is a way of escaping and absorbing myself in a daily morning practice. I find it challenging but by meeting my edge I know I’m doing all I can to keep strong. Perfect timing with this. With the end of this school year, I'm ending my time in my current district and moving to a new school district 7 states away. It's a welcome change but a terrifying one and of course a bittersweet ending to a chapter of my life. Intention for today is to remain open and trust in the universe.

Just picked up my yoga routine yesterday again after not doing any yoga or other workouts during the summer. Following the september calender was a good choice. The intention that did pop up while doing this practice is: I am back (to my workout routine). :)

Motivate day 18 was definitely the right practice for me today. Tonight I have a celebration planned with all my friends for having navigated my way through cancer treatment. EMBODY | March 19, 2022 | 💞 This is one of my favourite flows, starting with gentle stretching, preparing for the soil for new growth. Followed by getting the energy flowing - letting go and moving out anything that doesn't serve us so we can start fresh. I really appreciate when Adriene leads us through a repetitive flow because it allows us to get fully present and fine tune without rushing on to the next shape. Apparently my glutes and hamstrings really needed a stretch too, so thankful for that opportunity! 🙏🧘♀

I've sadly fallen out of my habit of a daily yoga practice for the last few months because uni got really stressful. However, today, with about three weeks to go until my summer break, I realised that yoga is exactly what I need right now, when I'm more stressed than ever. Hope I'll hold myself accountable and show up again tomorrow 💛

Day 29 Reset, lovely soft practice at the beginning which changes to rapid and vigorous one at the end! I was out of breath at the end since I couldn't balance breathing with moves and I lost my focus! Anyways it was great to see change in both pace and movements! I will try to do this one more time to have better concentration on breathing and grounding myself!😍

Rebirth was a wonderful morning winter practice for me today. I so much enjoy doing all of the poses and find them all challenging and wonderful to be in the moment, mind, body and soul. I love rolling all the way up at the end of a practice but not once, but a few times. Have a wonderful day Adriene and Yoga community. x
Rebirth? After today's practice, I felt it in my faith in my yoga abilities. I had trouble setting an intention but came up with: "do better." It applied so well to the little things, better breathing, a better lunge, not perfect, but better.

I pretty much sobbed through half of this one but I’m proud of myself for still finding it in myself to practice today. If I weren’t feeling so hopeless this would be the perfect message for me in my current state but I’m sure the message will have stuck with the slightly more hopeful part of me that I’m finding hard to reach today. In a time where I am struggling with change I am glad to have ywa, the single constant in my life. Hope the breath-bridge-move fam is having a better day than I am!

I actually spaced out at that part and didn't set one :D. I guess I could use some choosing to focus as well haha.
@Ginatus I can relate. I spaced out practicing: "Yoga for the Classroom" morethanlikely because my husband was chatting with me majority of that session. At least we show up to our mats.

I really dragged myself to the mat today, for day 140 of 140 consecutive days of yoga. I have a chronic illness that causes a lot of pain and really affects my mobility and the past few months have been incredibly difficult as my condition deteriorates. I've been feeling so low for a while now, and have been really dreading starting a masters degree a few days from now. Something clicked for me mentally during this practise and coming out the other side of these wonderful twenty-four minutes I know that I've got this. Thank you Adriene.

I have never commented in the community before, but felt compelled to today. After having a rollercoaster kind of day and feeling emotionally exhausted, I finally received some much needed great news. Now, I feel that what causes these rollercoaster for me is the compulsion to control what often times is simply out of my control. I need to give myself permission to let go and know that, in the end, it will all be okay. I guess that's what rebirth is all about: Letting go of what no longer serves and embracing what is and what does serve. Thank you Adriene for helping me in this journey of self-discovery. It's been almost a year of daily practices and it has truly changed my life. Thank you, Namaste to all.
