The Charter states I can film or take pictures once I'm in a public space. Also, since the news gets it wrong so many times it's up to us to be the press and make posts. If someone wants to crash then they can deal with the embarrassment that comes with it.
I understand the concern of the police. But, that doesn't change the fact that recording in public is completely legal, and a protected activity. It's no different that watching the news. If l find out about the death of a loved one, because of a picture posted online, then that is a horrible thing for me. But, potentially protecting me from that experience is not as important as the right to post those publicly taken pictures. Rights do have a down side. But it is that down side is never as bad as loosing that right.
Keep posting, but avoid rubbernecking. The MTO won't four-lane the TC Highway and won't shut down the fly-by-night truck-driving schools. The OPP aren't pulling enough less-than-professional drivers off the road.
