    Oh Man, finally. My Methyl B12 wit L-Methylfolate turned up today, within a couple of hours I'm running from job to job.
    I've known for decades I'm not running on all 8 cylinders. This video helped me self diagnose.

    I recommend taking the metalated form of B9 and B12 in vitamin form while getting the rest of your B vitamins from nutritional yeast.

    Whenever I take a methylated B complex supplement my pee turns neon yellow 4 hours later. What exactly is going on here? Is this my body telling me it didn't need the supplement or is this an effect that will always take place regardless of serum B levels? I'm dubious on the need to supplement with methylated B complex for those who consume a healthy wholesome diet based on natural food (i.e. no processed food to interfere with B uptake). Benfotiamine OTOH is a completely different matter as it is very effective neuropathy treatment in many people in addition to all the other benefits.

      That often happens when taking vitamin B supplements. I get the same effect. Nothing to worry about. "(i.e. no processed food to interfere with B uptake)" Has nothing to do with that. If you are a poor methylator its because of your genetics.

    Question: Not long ago I took a high quality Methylated B Complex for 4 months and did not notice and difference whatsoever. I asked 3 highly knowledgeable on the subject on whether I should have or not. All 3 said that if I did not notice anything that I don't need them. Is this so? I have the habit of trying my best to verify near everything. Thanks

    • @iammaxhammer
      @iammaxhammer 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      As far as I can discern, it should not be a problem. The problem is when you can't methylate the synthetic versions (Folic Acid, Cyanocobalamin, etc...)

    Hey please help how long to lower homocysteine I have 13.5 and I started taking methylfolate and tmg only three weeks ago, b6 and b12 I take a long time, should I test my homocysteine soon to see if it dropped already? I want to lower it to 6 or 7. How long will it take?

      @cornypinkuni9519 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you learn how long it takes?

    • @trail.blazer
      @trail.blazer ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You should see a difference in 3 to 5 weeks. You could measure at 6 weeks and if you see a reasonable reduction then carry on whatever you are doing. When you get your next blood test, consider not using B12 and methyfolate for a few days before the test, then also get B12 tested. Consuming folic acid or folate can interfere with B12 blood tests.
      If your B12 levels are good, you may not need to supplement B12 so much, because your liver can store a *lot* of B12.
      I had a B12 deficiency, got my levels up to 637 pmo/L by using a sublingual B12 and then found I could maintain that level by using that same sublingual maybe once a week with a methylfolate the same day. Those are high doses but not mega doses. I now test around twice a year.
      I don't supplement B6; did for a long time but never did anything for me. I suspect I get plenty from my diet, but had B12 absorption issues.

      What form of b12 you take? For me taking methylfolate and methylcobalamin reduced my inflammation dramatically within 3 days and that stabilized over 3-6 months with the help of magnesium glyconate.

      Do you get gassy and the shits when you eat a bunch of north american wheat products? A dna test can confirm if you have the gene variants that impede methylation due to a missing methyl group, as well as how severely (copy from just one parent or from both parents).

    What about TMG?

    • @herveduchemin2139
      @herveduchemin2139 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      During Methylation, MTHFR helps methylfolate get used in conjunction with vitamin B12 to help recycle homocysteine into methionine. If MTHFR or the other enzymes involved in that pathway are not working well, you can rely on TMG (which uses BHMT) in order to do the same thing as an alternative. But BHMT has common polymorphisms that make that enzyme operate more slowly...if someone has an inactive BHMT gene pathway, then TMG won't work well for them. Solution is to do whole genome sequencing and then find a practitioner who can help you identify exactly what mutations exist in your genome so they can be addressed properly.

      The same thing happened to me with developing a severe b vitamin deficiency despite supplementing with b vitamins. After complaining to doctors about relevant symptoms for about 23 years and constantly being told I'm just getting old or it's all in my head, my GP finally tested my b vitamins and didnt say anything other than you're in the normal range but it's a bit low so might want to supplement. I said I do supplement and I eat b vitamin foods. Took my bloodwork to a biochemist ND. My ND told me optimal levels are closer to 800 whereas mine was 140 and prescribed active form methylated b vitamins. CHANGED MY LIFE in 3 days and stabilized within a few months. Better sleep, I wake up rested first time in over 20 years, I have the kind of energy I used to have in my teens and 20s, my inflammation is all but gone. Mood is stable. Gone is the depression and fatigue. Instead I feel happy and healthy again. I am so grateful for those that keep appraised of these recent genetic findings. Was such a struggle for a long time but now that we know what was wrong it's a relatively simple remedy. It literally saved my life and gave me my energy back! With ten times the energy I had for two decades of life, I feel like I won the lottery. Have a lot of lost time to make up for. Very happy though. Next few decades hold a lot of hope now.
