Man, I love this guy and this band. I finally, FINALLY got to see them live last fall. The first attempt was cancelled because covid lockdown, the second attempt occurred when I lost my dad, then my beautiful wife got me ticket for my 40th birthday. Watching him live, performing songs so personal, was a catharis. The stress and sadness of the past few years was transformed. Waxing poetic but in short, what a sound. Even with the rollicking songs the lyrics hit hard, the band is spot on, and Nathaniel just oozes passion for the craft, its pure art.
I'm with you, I absolutely love this band! Whenever I hear people complain that "No one makes good music anymore!" I recommend they listen to Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats ASAP!
I also recommend Vintage Trouble... If they can listen to "Blues Hand Me Down" without jumping up and dancing... then they're a lost cause who just can't appreciate good music! That song might make me break a hip someday, totally worth it though.
This is so great to hear. 🤗💚💙💜
Superb live! One of the best acts out there!
I found them a few years back on late night with David letterman. Sang “ Give me a drink (?). Blew me away. Would love to get to see them live one day….❤
@@LazyIRanch I looked up Vintage Trouble and found this: "Vintage Trouble is taking a hiatus to focus on individual and family endeavors."
Nathaniel's covid jam with Jon Batiste on this channel was, in my opinion, one of the most charming musical moments ever, but then Jon always did bring out the best in musicians. I miss him. I hope his wife recovered.
I watch that clip every few weeks, it is the best. I really wished Jon did more of those sessions talking and just jamming with musicians on a musician-to-musician basis and let music be the interview.
@@jasonflay8818 I downloaded it so I can enjoy it any time. The jams he did with Abi Bernadoth and Simon Helberg were fantastic too. The Abi one is sooo joyful!
I agree, I would like to see more of them.
Art from them is the way on both own. They’re awesome. The sound they unique made alone is all they need.
She's still fighting.
They are incredible live. If you ever get the chance, don’t miss them!
So good live, seen him in Chicago.....
💯 go see them live! You’ll be a forever fan after one show.
Such an amazing song by an incredible band. I never get tired of listening to them.
"...And don't be appalled with the fall, it didn't hurt that bad
I've hit the ground harder
I've hit the ground harder..."
Oh wow, this song is going right to my heart! I'm adding that verse to the one I hear in my head when things are bad, the one from my beloved John Prine: "It's a half an inch of water but you think you're gonna drown..."
I love this so much!!!
This band doesn't miss. Absolute soul and great chemistry
I love these guys so much. He’s probably my favorite musician. I can’t explain how I feel when I listen to his songs. I just know that I’m picking up what he’s laying down.
I completely agree! I close my eyes, happiness and goosebumps!!!
He's one of the best. Saw them live at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and it remains the best live show I've seen in a long list of live shows. NRNS = the real deal.
Getting a little more Country.. Ooo!Ohhh, Ohhh…. Don’t matter to me, great band covering many genres. Love ‘em’.
I was sexually abused as a child..I started acting out. Setting fires, fighting anyone who dared challenge me. Flash forward 35 years I married my best friend and I'm a lot happier. This songs hits me hard. Thank you nathaniel and the boys.
How fu.k'n good are these guys. I have been lucky enough to see them in Adelaide and Melbourne. Downunder South Australia.
As a lifelong trumpet player who beats around clumsily on a few other instruments I really appreciate his use of brass❤
Hands down the best band out there right now (imho)! Thanks as always!
Just bought tickets to see them in Glasgow at the end of June. Very excited!!!
I can't even count how many of my favorite songs these guys have made at this point. This is definitely one of my favorite songs. It boggles my mind how talented they are. Amazing to see live too!
Incredible band!
Saw them at Shoals Fest in North Alabama in 2022- best band to see live. Thank you for letting Jason Isbell convince you to come to our little town. I’ll be a fan forever
I’ve been listening to this new tune and give it a big thumbs up. Should be good live.
Love THESE night sweats, and Nate, of course. Great live band, too.
Been a big night sweats fan for a few years now! So good to see them getting this attention!
Love love love this man and his band. Been a fan from the beginning.
Seeing NRNS at Red Rocks last year was one of the very best concert experiences of my life- too 3 for sure! Wish I could see Nathaniel there again this year - but grateful I will get to see them at Idaho Botanical Gardens.
I love these guys! AND the Marigold Project!
One of my favorite bands to see live. Love his James Brown moves. They are just amazing.
Can’t wait to see him live this fall!
What a tune✌
If you get the chance see them live! Best live show ever
I love this band 🌺 Aloha from Hawai’i.
First heard this band on Goliath, S1E1-the show opened with their song SOB. So happy for Nathaniel and his mates that they’re finally getting some national recognition. He writes compelling songs, he sings with passion and conviction, and his band is great. And to think-ahead of an arena tour-that he was on the verge of giving up on his musical career. If you’re not familiar, and you liked Heartless, check out their work. Many good tunes await you.
I saw them at Red Rocks. They're a great show to see live.
He gives me a Warren Zevon feel. Incredible tune!
Thinking the same thing!
@@kevinjfallon Wow! Glad someone else felt it! Bless you and your family! 🙏🎶🕊️
Yes! That's it! I was thinking.....this is such a familiar vibe! 😃
I kind of hear a little Sam Fender and seventeen going under but more country-fied. Love this song.
I was thinking John Hiatt, but reminds me I haven't listened to some Warren Zevon for way too long.
Favorite band ❤
Love them ‼️‼️
He is such a great songwriter and performer. So consistently good. Can't wait for the album.
The man is singing my heart out
Loooove this band
I like a real sound!😊
Kick ass performance.
Love your music performances. I am always discovering new great singers. ❤
They had a pretty big hit called S.O.B. Seems like they are about to blow up with that announcement at end of this video.
"Nathaniel: a gift from God ".
That's what I named my son😊
Real music kids. 🔥
It's a good band. I've been giving the new songs a listen. Kudos
Happy Father's Day
How was I to ever know it could get so bad
Run around heartless
Run around heartless
Tried to make it to the coast when I moved out west
I ran around angry
I ran around angry
I remember the flames in the grass how they dance in a line
As the fire swept across the prairie it was on to burn ours eyes
It was so cold leaving the comfort of my Missouri home
And my childhood left me so broken man that I didn't know
We were coming out even
We're coming out even
I don't recall all things in the throes of the night
It never occurred to me it always just heard me
Don't be appalled with the fall it didn't hurt that bad
I've hit the ground harder
I've hit the ground harder
And I want to feel something honey
Hey I want to feel something good
If everythings leaving me wanting
Ah then damn baby then it should
Run around tender
Run around tender
Awesome!
It's the vocal harmony!
Fantastic
A national treasure.
💃💫"I've Hit The Ground Harder!" 😋
Soooooo good
Was für ein geiler Song....
Best damn band in the business.
❤Wow! ♬ ❤
Great song. The video has more symbolism than a Hemingway short story.

Sounds a little like a Seger tune , I like it 😋
Nice. Unfortunately, not a very extensive west coast tour.

👍
Feels like this is the album that breaks them.
Pretty much the usual Nateliff thing - country music played as R&B, and done well. This one leans more toward the C&W side.
Most bands play two or three goods songs to start a concert, then several fillers, then another good one, rinse and repeat.
Not these guys. It’s one hit song after another, on and on.
And when he chats with the audience for a few minutes, he doesn’t drone on and on about the drummer’s 3rd cousin. It’s a few minutes and quickly back to music
You

He sure does repeat himself a lot. He found a way to turn a two minute song into four minute song. I do
like him, his band is excellent.
