This song reminds me of that heartbreaking moment you sometimes encounter with someone you genuinely care about, where things don't work out despite your best efforts. You spin your wheels over and over, with this faint hopefulness, and then eventually the dark parts of both of you squelch out the joyous, loving feelings you once had. This hits home with all of that for me. Very many feels. How many? So many

I don't care whether it's sweat, tears, or blood.
The fact he is playing with many equally,. (mostly,) accomplished musicians must be pretty feckin amazing. We're not all silver spooned.

I keep coming back to this song, I think it's one of my all time favorites, even with the obligatory shots of Johnny Depp "getting a feel" for the music, and that guitar solo is epic

I’m moving home next week… my best friend is coming to get me. I moved here expecting my life to grow and to get over the loss of my grandfather and one of my best friends. Things didn’t turn out. Six months ago I was ready to be done with this world but something kept me here. While I was sitting here packing all that kept coming to the back of my mind is ‘I’m going back to Kansas City’ with all the pain and abandonment I feel right now. I’ll take this bitter sweet remedy. Thank you for this.

Roughly a year ago, I listened to this song while driving to my favourite place in the world. A place that just the thought of it triggers an overwhelming feeling of serenity. Scratch that, serenity is not a powerful enough word to explain this feeling, it's completely ineffable. Now, whenever I listen to this song, that feeling returns, and only this song can do that to me. I still do not fully understand this feeling, but it is unlike anything I can experience anywhere else. This song means everything to me.

Being from Kansas City, this is one emotional song for me. The most miraculous timing of me hearing this song for the first time broke me down. I was visiting family in Texas a couple years ago and on my last day in they took me shopping before taking me to the airport. The last store we walked into just so happened to be playing this from the top as soon as we walked in. We were all surprised, we laughed, smiled and then cried. Beautiful song

I could listen to this song over and over again... It's a gut wrenching masterpiece that I want more of... The guitar solo begs for more time, and I wish the song was at least 2 minutes longer so I could fully soak up that intense raw emotion only Marcus Mumford can deliver so poignantly ❤️
