  • Helmed by Mr Rui Hai, the second generation hawker carries on his parents' business. His father Mr Peh, the founder, has been serving the dish since 1990s, and is now assisting with the preparation and cooking. Mr Peh’s braised duck has gained a thumbs up by the food critic, Chua Lam (蔡澜).
    The luscious braise sauce is slightly herbal, which accentuates the flavour. Sides dishes like braised eggs, Tau Pok, Tau Kwa, pork belly, and more are also served. Dip them into their special homemade chilli sauces to get a spicy punch!

    Watching the owner preparing the ducks...makes me drooling. Definately a yummy meal. I wonder how you can find so many good food in SG. Thanks for your hard work sharing good food in this channel. Keep it up.

    Funny how people call galangal “blue ginger”. The Chinese character representation is 南薑,literally meaning ‘south ginger’. I can’t verify this but galangal is a tropical plant so it grows in the southerly tropical regions, maybe that’s why it’s called that in the Chinese language
    While on this topic, the 4 most popular varieties of ginger used in this region are,the common ginger referred to as simply 薑,turmeric also known as 黃薑, translated to mean yellow ginger. Also, galangal or 南薑,and 沙薑,literally translated as sand ginger. They all belong to the same genus family but each has its own taste characteristics

    They were at kovan centre ( now known as Spazio at Kovan) for a long time. But I didnt like it because of the gamey smell.

    1:54 not blue ginger - 南薑 is called southern ginger - also known as galangal or lengkuas

    They also have 1 outlet at bendemeer block 29 hawker centre just eat and tapao also last sunday taste traditional, especially the gravy, 😋
