- My theory on to whats locked behind the elior forest seal, why did fortuna want to prevent pandora from opening it, is it satella, or is it something else entirely? Here's my take.

Re: Zero is one of the most interesting isekai anime that has come out in the past few years. The story revolves around Natsuki Subaru being transported from Earth to a new world and he is granted one simple power: "Return By Death". Subaru must use this newfound power to save those he cares about, such as Emilia, Rem, Ram, Petra, Otto and Garfiel and more.
Who is Satella and why did she grant subaru this power? What is the motivation behind the witch cult which have members such as Petelguese the sin archbishop of sloth? These are some of the questions I'll tackle on this channel, I hope you enjoy it and most importantly also enjoy season 1 and season 2 of Re: zero and hopefully it does well enough to warrant a third season covering arc 5 (Season 3 re: zero).

I saw a theory somewhere that that box is actually Pandora's Box from greek mythology. That Pandora was the one to open it originally and let out all the Witch Factors. The split from mythology is that it was closed before everything got out, which means "hope" never escaped Pandora's Box. For some reason Pandora lost her ability to open the box (maybe because she took a Witch Factor?) And needs someone pure of heart to open it. As Witch Cultists, even passive ones, the coming of Hope might mean the end times. It's kind of a crack theory but idk I thought it was cool

What if Emila was Echidna's daughter? I wouldn't really be surprised at all because the only person Echidna shows sincere human emotions is towards Emilia, even though they are negative. (Also except Satella)

Wasn't it said in the Emilia trial that "opening the seal will destroy the whole world this time" or something along those lines? As in, it maybe Minerva's corpse, but it sounds a lot like an immediate threat than something that's basically a Dragon Ball (you get 7 corpses you get unlimited powah)

I'm 99% sure the thing behind the seal is the box containing the Authority of Melancholy.
Personally I have my doubts about that since others have pointed out how Roswaal looks like Hector and original Roswaal combined. We also know Echinda does a lot of soul transferring and Hector disappeared after fighting Echidna. Also Roswaal now speaks like Hector and has his eye and clown mannerisms, so as one video stated its highly likely that Echinda in order to "defeat" Hector and save Roswaal, she combined their souls and I guess sealed Hector basically inside Roswaal.

@@matheusbarbosa4438 isnt everything a theory until confirmed? I'd say its the closest thing we have since Roswaal was basically dead but somehow survived with a lot of Hectors traits.
I dont think it's the authority of melancholy, however, it is a good point that Roswaal doesnt appear to have the authority dispite having other manuisms of Hector

I really like this theory because Sloth seems to be the only Sin Archbishop who is even cares about Satella's revival. For example, in Arc 6, both Lye and Roy make it inside the Pleiades Watchtower which is apparently where the Witch of Envy is sealed, but neither of them seem to have any interest at all in attempting to release her. Betelgeuse's love for Satella seems to be linked to the fact that he used to be a part of the moderate faction of the Witch's Cult also your right each archbishop has a goal, Siruis just wants Betelgeuse, Regulus even mentioned that he doesnt really care about the witch and i think he called her a bad name once, Regulus just wanted wives and to be left alone thats really it, the gluttonies goal is to eat memories and names for their sister louis, and we dont know Capella's goal at all but from what i heard what Capella does in her free time is a spoiler because at first when the author put xxx i thought it just meant Capella was having a lot of sex, but the main reason i like this theory is because it gives the arcbishops so much more depth then just worshipping the witch, not that its a problem the archbishop are very unique villain's with a lot of personality, but it just makes them even more unique in a way but loved the video and stay safe and happy birthday.
I was really sad that the rest of the witch cult doesn't care about satella, i wanted the archbishops to love satella each in their own crazy way.

If I'm not mistaken Capella wants everyone love and respect by the way Capella dislikes sex she sees it as disgusting
from wat i can tell betelguese was the only one concerned with reviving her (he was also in on watever plan flugel made but we ignore this) but he was also most active and public member so everyone got convinced that is what they wanted (sirius seems to hate/be jealous of her since betelguese is so obssessed) and if the other archbishops are as old as betelguese (who was alive at the same time as flugel since flugel was his master according to emilias trial in arc 4) they would probably also know that they cant open the door in the basement that subaru with amnesia found in arc 6 (assuming that is the actual seal) so its more of a "cant open it anyway doesnt matter" which also explains the revival thing instead of just opening the seal since the two gluttonies showed they could get to it any time
I think it's the essence of the Witch of Envy. I also expect this door to be opened by Emilia which might transform her into Satella and the Witch of Envy.
For absolutely no reason, i though Satella and the Witch of Envy were "split" and that it was the With of Envy's "Soul/Personality" that was locked behind the door. As if Emilia can be her vessel then the remains are not necessary, and it could make sense that only Satella's vessel could be able to open the door.
Maybe it’s a door to the Subaru’s world ? Since Emilia is said to be Witch of envy daughter which who brought Subaru to rezero world maybe that explains why she has the key ?

Im probably just deaf and you probably mentioned it in the video. But Pandora might wants the witch's remains to open Satella's seal and release her, though it doesn't make sense since she already has 5 of the 7 factors, previous to Subaru killing them, though Pride is missing and all 7 are needed to open the seal which means Envy is also needed which means Subaru is required to open it
I think it is a metaphorical seal over Emilia's mind to keep the Witch of Envy locked away, Minerva being Emilia's possible mother and looking a bit like her it was thought that Satella was the on his locked away in the Pleiades tower. That would explain while in the Greed Trials Emilia was showing glimpses of her obsession and other personality but not quite on the scale of the Witch of Envy's factor did with Satella.

While I think this theory is highly unlikely and this may have a bunch of issues. I think what`s behind the gate is Od Lagna, the very source of magic and life.
If what Fortuna said that "the world will surely end this time" if the seal is opened, it would make sense that the source of all life may be there. I don`t know much on Pandora`s motives for this though given that she was responsible for reviving Theresia as a puppet and for Theresia`s blessings to be transferred over to Reinhard. I think she`s trying to prevent the return of sages, sword saints or any character that may be able to defeat her. by destroying the source of their powers and blessings. The transfer to reinhard was likely something she didn`t expect and if she`s out hunting down the sword saints and such, the main reason why she hasn`t attacked Reinhard yet is simply that he`s too powerful. It could also be that due to Reinhard being rejected by all branches of magic and being able to destroy Od Lagna if a battle were to happen, it could either mean two things.
1:Reinhard`s overpowered state wasn`t at all what she wanted, in fact it could very well be that Od Lagna was responsible for giving Reinhard such power due to it potentially seeing Pandora as a threat to the world`s balance and believing that Reinhard would be capable of somehow killing her.
2: Reinhard`s overpowered state was intentional, and if the seal were to ever open through Emilia or the other individual (I`ll get to that) Pandora will somehow manipulate him into destroying it, either causing the world to go into chaos, or for Reinhard to lose all of his blessings. Thus making him atleast somewhat killable and getting rid of two of the laregest enemies against her.
Back to the seal, given the amount of mana in the forest and the texture of the area surrounding the seal (I at first thought it was snow, but apparently it has a white/blank texture that lacks any kind of color) I think the seal only opens to those who have the highest mana capacity in the world, that being Emilia and Roswaal.
I know this is a big thing to say but I think the main reason why would be that Od lagna`s seal can only be opened through those with the most amount of mana in the world. Roswaal was out of the question due to how powerful he was, so Pandora likely went after Emilia as she was still a child and could be easily manipulated. Finally, given that no one knows where Od Lagna is supposed to be and that the seal`s existence is a secret amongst the elves, it could very well be that only the elves and the likes of Fortuna know where it is, but due to all either being killed or frozen no one really knows where Od Lagna is.
This is jut a theory that I have that I started thinking about ever since I first heard of the seal. It could very well be Minerva (Especially with her resting place and affection to the elves) But I feel like ever Minerva`s authority wouldn`t be able to destroy the world as effectively as the destruction of the source of all life, magic and blessings. Humanity would be left with even more limited options to fight the mabeasts, one of the few "potential" ways to kill Pandora would be forever gone, and in turn the world will truly end if such an event will happen.
This isn`t a perfect theory and I know there are likely going to be a lot of issues like plotholes with this explanation, but this is my personal view on what is behind the gate and why Pandora is so obsessed over it.
My theory is that the seal contains Satella's body. The Witch of Envy is sealed at the tower, but not Satella herself. Perhaps somehow they got sealed separately as that was the only feasible way to contain her. Don't trust too much into what people think is behind the seal. It's possible those details got altered by Pandora. It could be that Pandora spun up the end of the world thing to keep people from trying to open it themselves and give a reason for the elves to protect it. Perhaps Pandora wants to make sure she is there to collect what ever is in the door and that might be more difficult to do if it's opened prematurely. The Witch of Envy and Satella are basically personalities of Satella. The miasma only flows out of the tower seal so that's where the Witch of Envy is sealed. Perhaps the seal at the tower can only function if the body of the witch factor host is sealed separately and if that seal is ever broken then the Witch of Envy can easily break out and return to it's body?
I don't know much about the tower though since I only know a basic summery of events that happens after the anime so I could be wrong here. :P
The WOE is an alterego of Satella, twisted into madness because it was produced by Satella's incompatibility with her WF.
That said, from the very little we know, and from what the mystery of what happened 400 years prior to the story is being hinted at, Satella herself was a good person, its the WOE personality that started to go crazy and destroy the world.
So if they were sealed separately, then that would make no sense for her to be sealed. in general it would not make sense for them to be separate, since its Satella (her own self) and the WOE (her twisted personality from the WF)

What if its Hectors remains thats inside the seal? Because no one knows what happened when he and Echidna fought each other. Echidna said that she knew Emilia’s parents so perhaps after she defeated him and sealed him inside. She entrusted the Elves and Emilia’s mother to keep an eye on the seal. After all Pandora and Hector aren’t apart of the original seven so it’s possible that Pandora wants all nine authorities and to empower herself to counter flugel, Reinhard and volcanica. And we know that authorities can be contained in a way like what Betelgeuse did he he and Fortuna fought Regulus and Pandora.
Hector was transferred into Roswall to save Roswall. Thats why one of his eyes are yellow and why he dresses like a clown. Roswall also follows the same speaking method.

This almost reminds me one of the naruto characters brought back a lot of characters to life for a war so maybe pandora wants all the witches remains to do something like that. If minerva is emilia mom and that's why she is the only who can open it than that would mean the second person who can open the seal door must also be related to minerva as well maybe satella is the second person and maybe is emilia's older sister but that's just a theory

After your video, I think that Pandora is trying to obtain all of the witch factors to unseal Satella. When she was in the Elior Forest, she could have been trying to unseal Minerva to gain her witch factor but failed. You probably need all of the witch factors (by having its authority or having a witch gene with you) to open the door under the Pleiades tower. Pandora could have knowledge of this condition already, that's why she's trying to command (manipulate?) the sin archbishops - because she needs them to unseal Satella.
That's when Subaru comes in - because he can stack up the witch authorities. That would finally make Subaru really important to the story (not that he isn't already but y'know) and a target for Pandora. Also, there is probably no one else with the envy witch factor, so she would definitely need him.
Aldebaran is Subaru's younger brother...the seal has Subaru's parents sealed in it....

If we assume that the seal contains Minerva's remains and if the qualities for Emilia to be able to open the seal is that she has to be Minerva's daughter, then we must assume that Emilia has a lost brother or sister? I think that the quality assuming that the remains of Minerva are the ones behind the seal, I think it has to be a person that Minerva loved or had a very good relationship with that person, in this case it would make more sense if they were only two people those that could open the seal because the other person capable of doing so would be their father or on the contrary I think that the other person could be Echidna but not the Echidna that Emilia met in the trials but the one that Roswaal wants to revive.
Maybe the qualification for Minerva's tomb is to be an elf.
My theory is that minerva's remains would be used by emilia to melt the elior forest. I also think that witch cult wants the witch's remains as a substitute for witch factor to unlock satella
Read this from another guy, don't remember if it was on this channel. But the guy speculated the door lead to Subarus world or maybe another world. Not that I heavily believe in it but it's an idea to throw around. Having Minerva's remains makes sense but it wouldn't be that of a dire thing for Fortuna and the other eleves to protect the seal so heavily. I also doubt Pandora would plan out the attack of elior forest so heavily if it wasn't something greater. As with all things rezero time will tell. wish I could read tappeis mind sometimes.

I agree to some extent. Now the door needs 7 witch factors right? Well theres only 6 sin archbishops. One possibility is that Pandora wants to open those doors, but is missing one witch factor, which could be behind that door when she gets Minerva's remains. Although that doesn't make much sense because Pandora herself posses a witch factor. Whatever is behind that door i think it heavily relates to Satella.
On the topic of the seven doors tho, i think Subaru will open them all, either at the end of arc 10 or during arc 11. It wouldn't make much sense to have Satella or even the witch of envy be an obstacle during arc 11, because she has a split personality, so not only would it be random chance, but Satella has no intention of getting in Subaru's way or hurting his friends and loved ones. Maybe the seal will be opened in arc 10, maybe it contains Subaru's memories of Satella and returning those memories would lead to Subaru opening the doors.
I think the future arcs will be this. Arc 8 is Lagunica and since we know it will be about the royal family, it most likely will be a big Reinhardt and felt arc.
Arc 9 will be in kararagi and will feature Crusch and Felis (or is it Felix) since those would be the only ones left to have an arc with the Emilia camp.
We know arc 10 we are getting answers on Emilia's backstory, so i think that will be an arc for the Emilia camp only, mainly focusing on Emilia and Subaru. I think they will head back to Elior forest to kill the black serpent, but it's also likely that if this is the case then we will see Pandora again.
Arc 11 should be obvious. That will be about Satella (no shit), Subaru and Emilia. It's also likely that if Pandora does die at the end of arc 10, then the big obstacles could be Hector, Echidna, Roswall, the other royal candidates or just all of the above, or even a mix of them. If Subaru decides to free Satella, i think Emilia will follow through with it (and Beako obviously) and that's how their relationship will deepen, but more importantly, theres going to be VERY few people who agree with it and will obviously try to stop him.
Oh I agree, arc 7 I think that subaru will get wrath or in arc 10 sence it has to do with Elior forest maybe sence Sirius is probably fortuna (in arc 7 we might get confirmation of the pride witch factor), arc 8 is maybe where they'll kill capella and get lust cause she has gold hair and red eye like felt (so they relatives maybe👀) and sence capella is mother we might see elsa come back, but I'm just throwing that out there. I wonder were Roy fits into all this, but thats my theory
@@rmz_ledger4475 In arc 8 maybe Capella has a prison break thing going on. She frees Sirius and Roy Alfard (is that how you spell it) and they get away, but Capella dies at the hands of Subaru or Reinhardt. It could be a thing with multiple sin archbishops again, including possibly pride if he's not already eliminated, he most likely will be then.
Roy could show up in arc 9 again, since Crusch has a closer connection to the sin archbishop of gluttony than any other.
Sirius i agree would be arc 10, if not then probably arc 8.
I do thin it's important to note that i have seen people saying stuff about how Subaru won't die in arc 8 or that he will become unkillable; That's bullshit obviously, but if Capella is in arc 8 then maybe Subaru will get more of the dragons curse?
Also if Sirius is in arc 10 and not 8 as the sacrificial sin archbishop then it makes sense that Pandora would be the main obstacle in arc 11.

@@ultimatezeldafanlink3465 just a guess, i obviously don't know what Subaru will face each arc, but Hector could be a challenge at one point or another, even if he isn't a villain.
According to the author, all 9 Witches will reappear in Arc 11. So it means that Pandora won't die in Arc 10
All im going to say is, I don't believe Minerva is Emilia's mother at all. Something about the theory just doesnt seem solid to me

@@beavermustang5089 I can't wait for that epsiode to come...the only version I had read is the wn version which Sekhmet is the one who face Emilia and that was really cute and funny interaction between the two of them...I wanted that part to be animated too.. but Minerva meeting Emilia is also interesting...and I haven't read their dialogue so maybe I would just prefer that one...and that is actually where the anime is going since it based on the light novel...
So yeah I am excited for it...

How can there be a Sin Archbishop of Wrath (Sirius) if Minerva's remains are inaccessible?
seems like the witches were killed and absorbed by satella, therefore there werent any remains. but pandora used her authority to make sure there will be remains to use later with capella abilities, she wasnt able to use their authorities herself though(there was some seal that can be manually opened like the box geuse had- made of sages bones). we know that from a comment echidna made in regard to their death and their book of the dead in arc6.
Or look at it the other way. Did Pandora rewrite reality so that everyone would blame Satella for killing the witches when it was really Pandora. It's just as easy to argue that since the witches' bodies are around, Satella couldn't have killed them and absorbed them. Maybe Satella is the victim here who has been blamed by Pandora for her own crime for centuries.

It makes sense for Capella to want the remains of Typhon though because most members of the Witch Cult believe that the seat for Pride is currently empty. So one would naturally assume that they want her remains for the Pride witch factor to fill that remaining seat. I'm not sure why they would want the remains of Minerva though as they already have the Wrath witch factor in Sirius. I actually think Pandora knows where the Pride factor is but she sends Capella there anyway to fulfill her prophecy/plan. It's possible that they want the remains for another reason, but I personally believe that Hector is sealed in Elior Forest. I think that the Great Calamity was a fight between the two sects of the Witch Cult that ended with both Satella and Hector being sealed away. I think the Flugel side of the cult wanted to release Satella but the Pandora side wants to release Hector. I think Pandora will achieve her goal when Emilia and Subaru return to the forest to thaw the ice statues.
While Emilia is obviously heavily related to Satella, I think Subaru is heavily related to both Flugel and Hector. I'm not saying they are the same person, just heavily related somehow. The first factor Subaru got was Sloth, which Petelgeuse got directly from Flugel's remains. Melencholy was turned into Sloth because they were so similar. This is a little off topic but has it ever been explained why there are no new witches/warlocks? Since they are all dead why were new candidates not picked for the next line of witches/warlocks?
I feel like it's Flugel's Gate. Like that's his immense power and perhaps his Od/Soul locked inside of it. As an elf, it's likely that Satella had something to do with Elior Forest, especially if she truly is meant to be Emilia's mother or something, and if we are to believe there's extreme parallels between Flugel's time period and the current one, then it might make sense that Flugel and Satella were romantically involved, and perhaps he was truly on her side because (and this is my own theory--) Pandora was the one behind the mass killings, not Satella-- She merely rewrote reality on a massive scale to put the blame on her, and has been recovering from that massive use of her Witch Factor, which is why she has not played much of an active role in the story.
So if Emilia is worthy for Minerva’s remains due to being the Witch’s daughter

Genetically it would work as Emilia’s a Half Elf , and her Father is Pure Elf , meaning her mother is a Human witch (ie NOT Satella)
However that would suggest since Pandora is linked to Emilia’s mother’s fate , then she’s linked to Minerva’s death (she said she knows her mother as in present tense , normally this would suggest Emilia’s mother is alive , but if it’s Minerva then in theory if Satella can enter the dreamscape and see Minerva then Pandora could too) however Minerva died to Satella , which would suggest Pandora caused the kind hearted Satella to kill the witches

Jake, this is just a suggestion, but I think you should make a theory about what happened to the royal family. It is a topic that is very little talked about both in Re:zero and among the community. I know there is little evidence for it, but I'm hoping that it gets talked about in the current arc or the next one.

The Seal is Subaru's "way out". If he goes home, all of re zero wont/wouldnt happen -> end of the world.
I think it's too egocentric to think that if Subaru returns home the whole world would end (even if some characters say it could be possible).. It's like thinking that the world will end if you die.

I think we've been told that Satella is sealed in the Auriga Dunes so it can't be her. After the end of arc six I became convinced that Satella is future Emilia due to time travel so I wonder if the Authority of Envy might now be behind that door that will one day infect Emilia. I wonder if Emilia's mother might have been the prior witch of Envy and its her body hidden behind the door.
Tappei said that Echidna's favorite witch was a spoiler. I wonder if Echidna's favorite witch was Emilia's mother (either Minerva or an unknown witch of envy) and Echidna hates Emilia because she reminds Echidna of her father; the man who took Emilia's mother away and the got her killed. So in a way Echidna is like Severus Snape. Raw speculation on my part I know.
I think that Emilia is Satella for two reasons (arc 6 spoilers):
1. When Emilia has her name eaten, Volcanica doesn't recognize her. Then when she gets her name back he suddenly does recognize her but calls her Satella. If he was just mistaking her based on her appearance then Emilia having her name eaten wouldn't affect anything. He didn't recognize her at first because he had forgotten that Satella existed.
2. Volcanica recognizes Patrasche and calls her by name but is still surprised that she's at the tower.
I mean the flaw with this theory is that gluttony can't eat false names, so if he ate Emilias name he would of been sick since if your theory is correct and satella is Emilia, than gluttony wouldn't of been able to eat Emilia's name, unless Satella has two true names.
@@razishah9379 My point was that Satella was the fake name and Emilia was the real one so Gluttony could only eat Emilia and not Satella. But if Gluttony eats Emilia's name then people would forget her and any pseudonyms she had ever used. So Volcanica and everyone else would forget that anyone called Satella ever existed until Emilia's name was recovered.

Julius's name was eaten but that doesn't mean that he hadn't still beaten up Subaru in the arena duel, it just meant that nobody remembered it anymore. Satella and the Witch of Envy are distinctly two different beings and it's believed that the Witch was the one who killed Emilia. As far as paradoxes go, it's hard to tell until we understand how time travel works in this universe.

Its implied that even if satella is sealed she can still show up, almost as if she can break out on her own, this is seen again in arc 6 where she just shows up (and doesn't possess emilia)
