@@thecleverise493 there are hints of flugel knowing thing subaru knows, his handwriting is identical to subaru(flugel tree), we have a memory of shaula seeing him crying for her 400 years before and he had the same appearance as of now(redacted 6h later by the author), the first trial is made specifically for subaru, the flugel tree is where subaru needs it to be to beat the white whale, all this details points out to subaru correcting his past mistakes after a failed fight with pandora in which instead of killing him she switch him with flugel, erasing the former from history.
Counterpoint: she can only escape her seal when Subaru breaks the pact to not reveal RBD. Every time she's broken out, it was after Subaru revealed it to Echidna or Lois.
Another thing too is did she really break out or was it more a case of a projection of her. It's not uncommon to see something like that in fiction where a great evil is sealed but it's presence still remains manipulating the world.

I don't think there's going to be a good or bad side at the end of re zero. My guess is it's going to be a conflict of interest, like reinhardt wants to try and kill satella or something and subaru wants to save her; we can already see how Emilia is treated so trying to convince anyone that satella isn't that bad is going to be very difficult, unless your very close to subaru and trust him completely (Rem, Emilia, Beatrice and roswaal probably doesn't care etc...)
probably after pandoras defeat her memory manipulations will be undone so if satella isnt a bad character all the world will know it istantly (because she fought with flugel raid and volcanica)

Honestly, the great waterfall is more interesting to me than any of the characters in the Video. I find the more I think about the physical world of Re:Zero the less it makes Sense. The world is presumably flat, but it has days and seasons like ours. There's also Gravity and according to that one map even a volcano (where does the magma come from?). Furthermore it was said Satella swallowed half the world yet looking at the "borders" of the waterfall, a Landmass double the size of the current doesn't fit in there. There's also things like the inconsistent climate (wastes in the west, a dune in the east, Tundra in the north temperate climate in the Rest and size isn't an explanation it would have to be the size of asia which one can tell from the short traveltimes, it is not) and as I recall rivers with Salt Water. In a story not really focused on exploring and adventuring, it seems odd and unecessary to have such a strange setting, which is why I think the truth behind the Re:Zero world itself will become important later
if satella devoured half of the world, after 400 years, cities and forest will be born to replace the wrecked place of course. you wont see the destruction anymore.

I've literally thought about this exact thing before. It feels like there's some big puzzle piece were missing with the world. Because it feels almost purposefully nonsensical. It's more simmilar to a video game than an actual natural geographical location. Think like Breath of the Wild or something. Or classic desert, arctic, big volcano, capital city, jungle area, grasslands, etc. And with a perfect world boarder. Re;Zero's world to me resembles a video game world map more than the way a naturally forming world would look... I just... Can't understand why
I think that the Subaru's real World and current world are related somehow. The Seal might be a dimension gate or to free Satella, somehow, to use her for opening the gate. I also suspect that Al will fight along Emilia against Pandora. Omega will be interested in Pandora's ability and she might probably reveal a lot of her weaknesses. Omega might encounter Satella at the end where she will talk to her about past incidents. Omega might even destroy the world because as Sekhmet said, if she got bored of the world it's a calamity.
What is really Echidna's secret plan if she's going to be the Final Boss of this series? didn't she say she will keep an eye on Subaru and Garf later but for what reason? and she's currently travelling to Kararagi or Gusteko.
tea party echidna cannot help but feel guilty toward subaru and garf so she wnat to pop up later when they need help so they own her a favor and she can get forgiven. think of it as a tsundere like attitude. also, she has the same memories of the real one so she probably wants something from subaru which is a sage candidate.
Gusteko is out of the question. in Wichtes After Tea party she said "Be that as it may, given that Gusteko is out of the question, I’d say Vollachia or Kararagi… Though from where we are, I’d say Kararagi." The conversation should be quite soon after the End of Arc4 and if my memory sarves me right there was a time skip of about a year between arc 4 and 5 where subaru trained parkour, his whip skills, etc. Ontop of that the time from arc 5 and 6. So either she is still in Kararagi or (what is my secret tip/wish) she is done with Kararagi and traveled to Vollachia so there could be a potential that we might see something from her in Arc7
Aside from what's been stated in the video. If Satella and maybe Witch of envy turns out to be good(mostly referring to Satella here) and she gets unsealed or Subaru decides to unseal her, then there's a high chance that Echidna will be against this. it has been stated that witches like Satella but not Witch of envy, while Echidna hetes both Satella and Witch of envy, cuz they ruined her plans or something(maybe some plans other than her getting immortality) . That's why i think there is an extremely high chance that she will be the final boss, especially in the case where Satella needs to be saved. which plans other than getting immortality was ruined i dunno, but my crack theory is that Satella destroyed half of the world exactly because to ruin that plan(extremely crack btw).
I think it's also possible for Subaru to become the "main antagonist" in the last arc or two, at least by how he's going to be perceived from outsiders and even the Emilia camp if they find out about his connection to the Witch of Envy, and that he wants to save her.
Echidna stated that she had to abandon most of her powers in the resurrection and that it would take her a couple of years to regain her power. Meaning she will be right on schedule to be the final boss. There are only three options for her - either she joins Subaru's side, making whatever his final fight is boring and easy, not get involved, making her story pointless, or attack Subaru, either as the final boss, or helping the final boss. Moreover, the way she acted in Greed If, clearly manipulating everyone to control the throne from the shadows, gives off major final boss vibes.
She merges with emilia giving her access to all of subarus deaths and painful memories. This is where we see emilia crying amongst the destroyed capital (after a fight with reinhard presumably), and saying she wished she had never met him. The final fight wont be an actual fight but a decision he has to make. Take on the final witch factor of envy and sacrifice himself (ei no more RBD), or let emilia go...meaning lets say letting her die, or letting her assume the throne (either way he gives up his life with her). I dont see subaru ending up with her unless its some purgetory they both are exiled too. Worst ending would be for him to be sent back home, as a wiser man full of confidence, self love and motivation. He became just like his father he idolized and the journey was about purging his sins and embracing his virtues. Very alice in wonderland ending...that while good from a message point of view and a good way to end, would lead to massive butthurt.

@@breembo If I'm not wrong, Jake made video that Re zero will have happy ending. I don't think this would be the case. Though, it was said by Witch of Envy that Subaru must someday kill her (this was in Anime, season 2.) So I guess this would be opposite, that is, freeing the Witch from the envy factor (just a guess). About Echidna, it's complex. 1st there is the relation of her, Satella, Emilia and her parents, AND Flugel. Echidna will be having a talk to Emilia about her parents. There is a relation of Echidna and Flugel as her miasama was said to be not affected against a Sage. Also, she wears her dress as someone said that she looked good with it. I personally think that Arc 8-11 would be the most interesting and important part.
I too believe that Subaru is the final boss, but he won't be alone, I feel like he's gonna be accompanied by the demented side of all witches, think back at the theme of split personality in both Satella and Echidna and the fact that Subaru turns evil in some of the " If " stories. The final battle is gonna be Subaru and the witches vs Evil Subaru and evil side witches.
Imagine if subaru has to fight/converse with all of his ‘if routes’ by the time he gets all the witch factors Like, To understand the true meaning of him being ‘human’ as in to understand all of the sins that subaru might have done somewhere in his life time
What do you think of the Moon in Re:Zero, do you think it has any significance in the story? I've noticed in some key moments in the anime that the Moon is often present when there's significant event, for example, the white whale fight, the onclusion of arc 1, the kighting ceremony, etc, though it's not present in every big event, it somehow is, in many of them. My main reason of curiousity is the title of an interlude of Arc 1 "The Moon is Watching". I'm not really sure if it has something to do with RBD as well, cause the respawn point somehow gets updated each time it shows up for example in arc 1 ending, the white whale fight, and events before the first trial (implied mainly through lighting and shadow)
This is actually really interesting. The moon is also notable in the twin’s backstory, the fight against Theresia in arc 5, and the gluttonies have attacks named after eclipses. In my opinion, I think it is another element that makes the story more cohesive in its theming, as Re:Zero is heavy on its star and space motif, and the moon is a literal satellite - the thing Satella is most likely named after. Though if there is more to it I think you’re onto something.
the name satella is related to the moon, therefore when the anime shows the moon watching its a hint about satella always watching over subaru from an unreachable place.
theory if Flugal is the final boss: Satella can be an scapegoat for the "hero" that being Flugal who might have been trying to get back home to his world by using have of the world Satelle eaten to stop him and the world from ending but envy will brake out for Subaru

3 seals around the world. each of them contains something satella related, the 1 in elior forest contain all of her cursed fire based mana (emilia pool increased due to her absorbing portion of it when it leaks and converting it into normal mana since its the same kind of hers), 1 in vollachia containing satellas soul (from which she can exit since its weavering due to the royalty being almost all dead and the power used to create it is from volcanica and his oath), the last one under the pleiades whatchtower containing the body and the envy personality (again its weakened so envy can exit briefly). the gist of it is that if satella is too powerful 1 single seal cannot muster enough magic per second to seal her and you need multiple seal to be activated together at the same time to work.

I honestly disagree with Echidna being the last boss. Omega as in a combination of all the witches, yes, maybe, but not Echidna herself. While it would make sense from a Character standpoint it just wouldn't work with the themes of the show, the biggest issue being that Echidna is the witch of GREED. By making her the final boss Tappei would put one sin above the others in a definite way. Yes he did something similar with envy killing the rest, but that's also the reason why I don't think Witch of Envy would be the final boss, it would just feel weird. All of the sins and their factors have different strengths and importance but all in all they are always seen as part of one thing, just look at the shadow garden and the Pleiades tower's door. I would agree with your thoughts on Pandora as the secondary Antagonist, but I see her die either in Arc 10 or 11, since Sirius will definitely break free and Capella and her will take the big bad spots for Arc 8 and 9. So who do I think the Main Villain will be, well I think I would bet most of my money on either Flugel and/or Subaru. While Flugel might not want to destroy the world and he might have good intentions, he could just go about it the completely wrong way. This than could be mirrored with Subaru. The entire Series is about Subaru overcoming his weaknesses and inner demons so a failed evil Version of himself incorporating all of these flaws in one would in my opinion pose the perfect thematic villain for the story making Subaru literally overcome himself to be the hero.
Reinhard? In case Emilia gets posessed (similar to what happened with Satella and the envi witch factor) and turns "evil", Reinhard would probably go to kill her to save the world. In that case he would be in direct opposition to Subaru. Oh, and he got the power to be a final boss. But this would probably make Emilia/Subaru the actual final boss from a broader perspective^^

But as far as I remember no information was given on when and how, so it could be how he is defeated in the very end as the final boss. then again, I do not think it is very likely, just wanted to point out the possibility and the fit, especially if re zero is going to be somewhat in the direction of "time is circular" (as in Flugel is Subaru, Emilia is/was? Satella) and the final battle will be between the witch, the sage, the sword saint and the dragon (as vs the witch of envy) he would (shoud) be around there. Not sure how the 1st sword-Saint would fit in, but perhaps he is/was Reinhard and lost his memory, so he found himself another name and personality. Someone with more complete knowledge of the LN/WN should probably work that out :D
I’m expecting to Return by Death reveal to the cast of Re:Zero in the last arc. I also believe when that happens everyone will label Subaru as a not comprehensive monster who is insane and dangerous. It might lead to Subaru’s ultimate sacrifice where he fixes everything and let everyone gets to their “Happy Ending” except for himself. It would be bittersweet but totally something that should be expected from Subaru.

julius hinted about someone from history which tried to steal divine blessings from the world and end up horribly cursed. she must be definitely one of them and the other 7 authorities were born from this very first sin, making the name pandora fitting.(the girl which opened the box containing all the sins)
I also believe Pandora vs awakened/full powered Emilia will be a thing as well. Based on what we saw in arc 4 with Emilia's past, Pandora will be the 1 person Emilia hates and for good reason and the 1 person she will want revenge against for the suffering she went through as a child by Pandora's hands. As for the final boss I think it will be Envy rather than Echidna. Satella wants to be killed by Subaru to probably rid the world of WOE once and for all and Subaru will save Satella by killing both her and Envy together probably. Also Envy has been the one that caused most of Subaru's suffering by making it so he couldn't talk about RBD and the one time he could tell another person, Envy showed up and swallowed the Sanctuary and Subaru in shadows and brutally killed Garfiel idk if even Envy can be redeemed and team up with the good guys to fight Omega Echidna but I guess we'll have to see
Omega might probably help Emilia against Pandora. You don't know, Omega is extremely sus and interesting character. You don't know when she might play Kisuke Urahara's card like how he did on Aizen at end.
the more i think about the last arc the more i think that sabaru will become the villan, maybe he wouldn't be the final boss but i suspect he will have to fight everyone for something(save satella?).
Envy subaru will be flugel and will be the final boss of rezero for subaru and pandora for emilia. Flugel is a typical isekai hero who lived a good life. He became the greatest yin user and save the world from the great calamity. He used satella as his princess. Same as subaru in the 3rd arc with emilia. Flugel is pridefull and want to save the world (hero complex) but doesn't take care of his friends (shaula). And subaru will become the opposite.
There are some people who want Subaru to be the final boss of Re Zero. But it will simply ruin the entire show. All the pain and suffering Subaru went through would be for nothing and all the character development Subaru got throughout the story would be flushed down the toilet.

also the door (later on edited as many doors) requiring witch factor to pass through had 7 jewels embedded into it, hence pandora and hector doesnt need to be defeated to technically revive satella.
I don't think there are any words from the other kingdoms/Countries yet, so there should be no idea who gonna be the final boss yet The author also said the ending gonna be a sad one, I can imagine Subaru goes back to point 1 of the story XD
I am guessing that Capella will be defeated in Arc8, i agree that the ties to camp Felt will be of importance here. I am not so sure we can discard the other Gluttonys or Sirius tho. Yes they are somewhat defeated/imprisoned but we know that Subaru will most likely need to absorb all Witchfaktors to enter Floor Zero of the Watchtower (which will for sure play a huge role in the endgame, be it final boss or not). From my knowladge it is not clear if Subaru somehow got the Gluttony factor from arc6 (yet to be seen) and he for sure didnt get the Wrath factor. So atleast Sirius will play a role in the future again soley for the fact that Subaru needs that Witch Factor. I am somewhat unsure about Echidna. It is stated multiple times that she almost destroyed the world and that she could easily be able to destroy the world again (if she loses interest, etc.) But it was also stated that she regretted some things in the past and that she said (i think in the Book of the dead) that she wants to save people/the world from suffering. She sounds dangerous in what she could do but her wish is a good/positive one so not sure if that counts like an endboss. Her way of fulfilling this wish needs to be super twisted and fucked up to be of endboss worthy levels. We saw that she somewhat doesnt care about the way if she can get the results in the end so its not completely unrealistic but i think Envy fits the role a bit better. Imo Pandora will be the 2nd last boss to finish off
You think that omega echidna will be the final boss, but think about roswaals goal he wishes to restore echidnas body. I think this is even hinted at in season 1 with his dragon comment if so I think it’d make the most sense that true echidna would be the final boss.
i would like to say that there still is 1 archibishop which identity isnt confirmed, the sin archbishop of pride (al maybe?), so at least 1 arc will be against this one. arc7 is probably capella related, arc8 is pride (i guess), arc9 will involve wrath (when they find out she is fortuna - many hints toward it) and 10 will be pandora, and finally we'll have the final boss - flugel (again, a guess).
My take on it is that arc 7 most likely will not have any sin archbishops in it, maybe an appearance from capella, but I doubt it will be their main arc. I think capella will probably be the main antagonist of arc 8 seeing as that is about the royal family, it would make sense for them to show up there. Roy might as well seeing as they could have connections to capella. It will be really interesting to see how Subaru deals with Roy and capella seeing as Roy knows about RbD and capella has a 50% chance of finding out about it I would say. crack theory: The interesting part is though, that while everyone else who has known about RbD up until this point has had reason to still let Subaru reset by killing him, as far as I am concerned from capella's perspective, it would be optimal for Subaru to stay alive... And it just so happens her authority is perfect for keeping people alive. Anyways, I do agree with arc 9 most likely having something to do with wrath, I feel like them showing up in 8 is unlikely. 10 will also probably be pandora crack theory 2: Pride is the Mad prince of Gusteko, I surely can't be the only person who thinks that the title "mad prince" seems pretty fitting for someone who has the title of the sin archbishop of pride, and that coupled with the fact that he is extremely mysterious really makes me think that this is a possibility.
Louis only recently assumed a corporeal form and possibly just hadn't used her authority yet, since she most likely doesn't remember that she has one. And we know that witch's scent has a tendency to dicipate over time and thus Louis doesn't exude it since her body is brand new.
Jakez don't forget pandora is also a witch so she is gonna be present in the final arc too and about echidna she is selfish person but she isn't the someone who could be a villain, she might not even oppose Subaru and team. Also she doesn't even have power to be the final boss as she couldn't even hold a candle against sekhmet or regulus in terms of power but ya you can say she would create something that would made her powerful as she is the smartest character in re:zero and probably the best mage but that is just too much speculation.
I think satella has some contrast with Subaru who probably has some connection with selling her and she can only break when Subaru breaks the contract which is telling other people about return by death and Subaru being the final bose sure sounds fun knowing tape he might just do that
If we do consider Omega Echidna to be the final boss, I wonder what her main goal is. My first thought is kind of a simple one. As we know Echidna is obsessed with knowledge and experience - so what if she wants to test the the biggest ultimatum: what would happen when the world ends/is destroyed? This one only really works if we separate this Echidna from flashback Echidna, because I highly doubt flashback Echidna would do something THAT malicious. On that note though, as significant as she is, I can’t shake this weird feeling that she, or any of the main candidates other than the Witch of Envy honestly feel… (forgive my lack of words) kinda random? Idk for as tightly packed as Re:Zero is when it comes to its themes, I really want the final boss to encapsulate all of these, to make Re:Zero truly feel like the thematic exploration that it is, rather than just a story with deep thematic elements, if that distinction makes enough sense. Echidna or Pandora as the big bads would feel like a “take down the demon king” story, and I know Subaru wasn’t put in Lugunica just for that. Correct me if wrong, but didn’t Tappei say that the first loop of the story reflected the entire story as a whole or something like that? But as always I have faith in Tappei, so if one person like Echidna, who doesn’t really have those strong ties to the beginning of Subaru’s story end up being the final boss - I’m sure he’ll make it work.

My idea is this Emilia-Satella-WoE = if Emilia does become the WoE I think she will be the final boss, I feel she will transform after defeating Pandora or echidna, also makes for a good way to end RBD Pandora or Echidna = for me if one doesn’t know of the other the hidden one is the final boss

I agree I think Pandora is arc 9 or 10 boss. Technically final boss could be Satella to maybe delete all timelines or redos if that’s a thing. Satella maybe must die. What if they want to revive Flugel. Also feels like Volcanica would be an enemy that becomes an ally. Also I feel like there’s a source for authorities that maybe come from Subaru’s world or the Elior Forest seal using a similar idea from log horizon

I don't understand why Pandora should be the bad guy... Tappei will probably make her but hear me out. Killing Emilia's parents might not be a necessarily bad thing since we know Flugel was a scumbag who left Shaula on the tower and Guese seems like a side kick of him who just does what he says. I believe Flugel was Subaru but somewhat they made him crazy so he kinda take revenge on everyone. Incliding Reid, Volcanica and Shaula and when Satella tried to stop him by doing something reckless she swallowed the world. So there is also the possiblity of Fortuna being delusional... At worse... Seal keeps the remains of Minerva. Even if it's Satella's it doesn't matter since Pleiades seal still keeps her. So there is a possibility she just protects something actually important for Pandora. I think that seal is connected with Subaru's past and that's why no one in the series can make the easiest connection of FlugelSubaru. If Pandora didn't killed Theresia she would've died anyway and also erased from the world. How do I know she would die? Well... Q/A and she would've erased because that's probably the only attack that can kill her. Pandora knows star names... That is just a giant positive. I hated the way Emilia camp joked with Subaru because he talked about stars... If they listened they would learn the secrets of the fucking world. And let's say Pandora destroyed the Oni god by making it born as twin. ... That's a good thing right? I don't think anyone is sad about Oni village... They are pretty scummy...so. And I even ship PANDORA with Subaru because I do not fucking believe any other character capable of connecting with Subaru ... Satella has no common sense, Echidna messed up her chance, No amount of transformation can make Emilia someone capable of connecting with Subaru since Tappei doesn't even make her suffer when she should. I also believe Tappei didn't even think a reason why the hell Pandora wouldn't just talk with Subaru in earlier part of series since that would broke the system. Like if Subaru and Reinhard talked that would pretty much it and there would be no waifu needed for two of them to solve their problems. Tappei's biggest nightmare is Reinhard and Subaru talking. Edit: I hope one of her transformations includes leaving that promise crazed part of her. "Make me trust you" is such a disgusting sentence said by Emilia time and time again. I was clapping Pandora when she was saying "Promise... Such a nice word isn't it?" Seemed like she was rather hostile to it. Just another similarity between her and Subaru since they probably the only 2 character in re zero world showed so fucking much hate to promises and vow's.

I don't think there's going to be a good or bad side at the end of re zero. My guess is it's going to be a conflict of interest, like reinhardt wants to try and kill satella or something and subaru wants to save her; we can already see how Emilia is treated so trying to convince anyone that satella isn't that bad is going to be very difficult, unless your very close to subaru and trust him completely (Rem, Emilia, Beatrice and roswaal probably doesn't care etc...)

Honestly, the great waterfall is more interesting to me than any of the characters in the Video. I find the more I think about the physical world of Re:Zero the less it makes Sense.
The world is presumably flat, but it has days and seasons like ours. There's also Gravity and according to that one map even a volcano (where does the magma come from?). Furthermore it was said Satella swallowed half the world yet looking at the "borders" of the waterfall, a Landmass double the size of the current doesn't fit in there.
There's also things like the inconsistent climate (wastes in the west, a dune in the east, Tundra in the north temperate climate in the Rest and size isn't an explanation it would have to be the size of asia which one can tell from the short traveltimes, it is not) and as I recall rivers with Salt Water.
In a story not really focused on exploring and adventuring, it seems odd and unecessary to have such a strange setting, which is why I think the truth behind the Re:Zero world itself will become important later

I've literally thought about this exact thing before. It feels like there's some big puzzle piece were missing with the world. Because it feels almost purposefully nonsensical. It's more simmilar to a video game than an actual natural geographical location. Think like Breath of the Wild or something. I think that the Subaru's real World and current world are related somehow. The Seal might be a dimension gate or to free Satella, somehow, to use her for opening the gate. I also suspect that Al will fight along Emilia against Pandora. Omega will be interested in Pandora's ability and she might probably reveal a lot of her weaknesses. Omega might encounter Satella at the end where she will talk to her about past incidents. Omega might even destroy the world because as Sekhmet said, if she got bored of the world it's a calamity.
What is really Echidna's secret plan if she's going to be the Final Boss of this series? didn't she say she will keep an eye on Subaru and Garf later but for what reason? and she's currently travelling to Kararagi or Gusteko.
tea party echidna cannot help but feel guilty toward subaru and garf so she wnat to pop up later when they need help so they own her a favor and she can get forgiven. think of it as a tsundere like attitude. also, she has the same memories of the real one so she probably wants something from subaru which is a sage candidate.
Gusteko is out of the question. in Wichtes After Tea party she said "Be that as it may, given that Gusteko is out of the question, I’d say Vollachia or Kararagi… Though from where we are, I’d say Kararagi."
The conversation should be quite soon after the End of Arc4 and if my memory sarves me right there was a time skip of about a year between arc 4 and 5 where subaru trained parkour, his whip skills, etc. Ontop of that the time from arc 5 and 6. So either she is still in Kararagi or (what is my secret tip/wish) she is done with Kararagi and traveled to Vollachia so there could be a potential that we might see something from her in Arc7

If Satella and maybe Witch of envy turns out to be good(mostly referring to Satella here) and she gets unsealed or Subaru decides to unseal her, then there's a high chance that Echidna will be against this. it has been stated that witches like Satella but not Witch of envy, while Echidna hetes both Satella and Witch of envy, cuz they ruined her plans or something(maybe some plans other than her getting immortality) .
That's why i think there is an extremely high chance that she will be the final boss, especially in the case where Satella needs to be saved.

I think it's also possible for Subaru to become the "main antagonist" in the last arc or two, at least by how he's going to be perceived from outsiders and even the Emilia camp if they find out about his connection to the Witch of Envy, and that he wants to save her.
Echidna stated that she had to abandon most of her powers in the resurrection and that it would take her a couple of years to regain her power. Meaning she will be right on schedule to be the final boss.
There are only three options for her - either she joins Subaru's side, making whatever his final fight is boring and easy, not get involved, making her story pointless, or attack Subaru, either as the final boss, or helping the final boss.
Moreover, the way she acted in Greed If, clearly manipulating everyone to control the throne from the shadows, gives off major final boss vibes.
She merges with emilia giving her access to all of subarus deaths and painful memories. This is where we see emilia crying amongst the destroyed capital (after a fight with reinhard presumably), and saying she wished she had never met him.
The final fight wont be an actual fight but a decision he has to make. Take on the final witch factor of envy and sacrifice himself (ei no more RBD), or let emilia go...meaning lets say letting her die, or letting her assume the throne (either way he gives up his life with her). I dont see subaru ending up with her unless its some purgetory they both are exiled too.
Worst ending would be for him to be sent back home, as a wiser man full of confidence, self love and motivation. He became just like his father he idolized and the journey was about purging his sins and embracing his virtues. Very alice in wonderland ending...that while good from a message point of view and a good way to end, would lead to massive butthurt.

About Echidna, it's complex. 1st there is the relation of her, Satella, Emilia and her parents, AND Flugel. Echidna will be having a talk to Emilia about her parents. There is a relation of Echidna and Flugel as her miasama was said to be not affected against a Sage. Also, she wears her dress as someone said that she looked good with it. I personally think that Arc 8-11 would be the most interesting and important part.

What do you think of the Moon in Re:Zero, do you think it has any significance in the story?
I've noticed in some key moments in the anime that the Moon is often present when there's significant event, for example, the white whale fight, the onclusion of arc 1, the kighting ceremony, etc, though it's not present in every big event, it somehow is, in many of them. My main reason of curiousity is the title of an interlude of Arc 1 "The Moon is Watching".
I'm not really sure if it has something to do with RBD as well, cause the respawn point somehow gets updated each time it shows up for example in arc 1 ending, the white whale fight, and events before the first trial (implied mainly through lighting and shadow)
This is actually really interesting. The moon is also notable in the twin’s backstory, the fight against Theresia in arc 5, and the gluttonies have attacks named after eclipses. In my opinion, I think it is another element that makes the story more cohesive in its theming, as Re:Zero is heavy on its star and space motif, and the moon is a literal satellite - the thing Satella is most likely named after. Though if there is more to it I think you’re onto something.
the name satella is related to the moon, therefore when the anime shows the moon watching its a hint about satella always watching over subaru from an unreachable place.

3 seals around the world. each of them contains something satella related, the 1 in elior forest contain all of her cursed fire based mana (emilia pool increased due to her absorbing portion of it when it leaks and converting it into normal mana since its the same kind of hers), 1 in vollachia containing satellas soul (from which she can exit since its weavering due to the royalty being almost all dead and the power used to create it is from volcanica and his oath), the last one under the pleiades whatchtower containing the body and the envy personality (again its weakened so envy can exit briefly). the gist of it is that if satella is too powerful 1 single seal cannot muster enough magic per second to seal her and you need multiple seal to be activated together at the same time to work.

I honestly disagree with Echidna being the last boss. Omega as in a combination of all the witches, yes, maybe, but not Echidna herself. While it would make sense from a Character standpoint it just wouldn't work with the themes of the show, the biggest issue being that Echidna is the witch of GREED.
By making her the final boss Tappei would put one sin above the others in a definite way. Yes he did something similar with envy killing the rest, but that's also the reason why I don't think Witch of Envy would be the final boss, it would just feel weird. All of the sins and their factors have different strengths and importance but all in all they are always seen as part of one thing, just look at the shadow garden and the Pleiades tower's door.
I would agree with your thoughts on Pandora as the secondary Antagonist, but I see her die either in Arc 10 or 11, since Sirius will definitely break free and Capella and her will take the big bad spots for Arc 8 and 9.
So who do I think the Main Villain will be, well I think I would bet most of my money on either Flugel and/or Subaru. While Flugel might not want to destroy the world and he might have good intentions, he could just go about it the completely wrong way. This than could be mirrored with Subaru. The entire Series is about Subaru overcoming his weaknesses and inner demons so a failed evil Version of himself incorporating all of these flaws in one would in my opinion pose the perfect thematic villain for the story making Subaru literally overcome himself to be the hero.
Reinhard? In case Emilia gets posessed (similar to what happened with Satella and the envi witch factor) and turns "evil", Reinhard would probably go to kill her to save the world. In that case he would be in direct opposition to Subaru.

then again, I do not think it is very likely, just wanted to point out the possibility and the fit, especially if re zero is going to be somewhat in the direction of "time is circular" (as in Flugel is Subaru, Emilia is/was? Satella) and the final battle will be between the witch, the sage, the sword saint and the dragon (as vs the witch of envy) he would (shoud) be around there. Not sure how the 1st sword-Saint would fit in, but perhaps he is/was Reinhard and lost his memory, so he found himself another name and personality.

I’m expecting to Return by Death reveal to the cast of Re:Zero in the last arc. I also believe when that happens everyone will label Subaru as a not comprehensive monster who is insane and dangerous. It might lead to Subaru’s ultimate sacrifice where he fixes everything and let everyone gets to their “Happy Ending” except for himself. It would be bittersweet but totally something that should be expected from Subaru.

As for the final boss I think it will be Envy rather than Echidna. Satella wants to be killed by Subaru to probably rid the world of WOE once and for all and Subaru will save Satella by killing both her and Envy together probably. Also Envy has been the one that caused most of Subaru's suffering by making it so he couldn't talk about RBD and the one time he could tell another person, Envy showed up and swallowed the Sanctuary and Subaru in shadows and brutally killed Garfiel idk if even Envy can be redeemed and team up with the good guys to fight Omega Echidna but I guess we'll have to see

I am guessing that Capella will be defeated in Arc8, i agree that the ties to camp Felt will be of importance here. I am not so sure we can discard the other Gluttonys or Sirius tho. Yes they are somewhat defeated/imprisoned but we know that Subaru will most likely need to absorb all Witchfaktors to enter Floor Zero of the Watchtower (which will for sure play a huge role in the endgame, be it final boss or not). From my knowladge it is not clear if Subaru somehow got the Gluttony factor from arc6 (yet to be seen) and he for sure didnt get the Wrath factor.
So atleast Sirius will play a role in the future again soley for the fact that Subaru needs that Witch Factor.
I am somewhat unsure about Echidna. It is stated multiple times that she almost destroyed the world and that she could easily be able to destroy the world again (if she loses interest, etc.) But it was also stated that she regretted some things in the past and that she said (i think in the Book of the dead) that she wants to save people/the world from suffering. She sounds dangerous in what she could do but her wish is a good/positive one so not sure if that counts like an endboss. We saw that she somewhat doesnt care about the way if she can get the results in the end so its not completely unrealistic but i think Envy fits the role a bit better. Imo Pandora will be the 2nd last boss to finish off
You think that omega echidna will be the final boss, but think about roswaals goal he wishes to restore echidnas body. I think this is even hinted at in season 1 with his dragon comment if so I think it’d make the most sense that true echidna would be the final boss.

i would like to say that there still is 1 archibishop which identity isnt confirmed, the sin archbishop of pride (al maybe?), so at least 1 arc will be against this one. arc7 is probably capella related, arc8 is pride (i guess), arc9 will involve wrath (when they find out she is fortuna - many hints toward it) and 10 will be pandora, and finally we'll have the final boss - flugel (again, a guess).
My take on it is that arc 7 most likely will not have any sin archbishops in it, maybe an appearance from capella, but I doubt it will be their main arc. I think capella will probably be the main antagonist of arc 8 seeing as that is about the royal family, it would make sense for them to show up there. Roy might as well seeing as they could have connections to capella. It will be really interesting to see how Subaru deals with Roy and capella seeing as Roy knows about RbD and capella has a 50% chance of finding out about it I would say.
crack theory: The interesting part is though, that while everyone else who has known about RbD up until this point has had reason to still let Subaru reset by killing him, as far as I am concerned from capella's perspective, it would be optimal for Subaru to stay alive... And it just so happens her authority is perfect for keeping people alive.
Anyways, I do agree with arc 9 most likely having something to do with wrath, I feel like them showing up in 8 is unlikely. 10 will also probably be pandora
crack theory 2: Pride is the Mad prince of Gusteko, I surely can't be the only person who thinks that the title "mad prince" seems pretty fitting for someone who has the title of the sin archbishop of pride, and that coupled with the fact that he is extremely mysterious really makes me think that this is a possibility.

Louis only recently assumed a corporeal form and possibly just hadn't used her authority yet, since she most likely doesn't remember that she has one. And we know that witch's scent has a tendency to dicipate over time and thus Louis doesn't exude it since her body is brand new.

If we do consider Omega Echidna to be the final boss, I wonder what her main goal is.
My first thought is kind of a simple one. As we know Echidna is obsessed with knowledge and experience - so what if she wants to test the the biggest ultimatum: what would happen when the world ends/is destroyed? This one only really works if we separate this Echidna from flashback Echidna, because I highly doubt flashback Echidna would do something THAT malicious.
On that note though, as significant as she is, I can’t shake this weird feeling that she, or any of the main candidates other than the Witch of Envy honestly feel… (forgive my lack of words) kinda random? Idk for as tightly packed as Re:Zero is when it comes to its themes, I really want the final boss to encapsulate all of these, to make Re:Zero truly feel like the thematic exploration that it is, rather than just a story with deep thematic elements, if that distinction makes enough sense. Echidna or Pandora as the big bads would feel like a “take down the demon king” story, and I know Subaru wasn’t put in Lugunica just for that. Correct me if wrong, but didn’t Tappei say that the first loop of the story reflected the entire story as a whole or something like that? But as always I have faith in Tappei, so if one person like Echidna, who doesn’t really have those strong ties to the beginning of Subaru’s story end up being the final boss - I’m sure he’ll make it work.

I agree I think Pandora is arc 9 or 10 boss. Technically final boss could be Satella to maybe delete all timelines or redos if that’s a thing. Satella maybe must die. What if they want to revive Flugel. Also feels like Volcanica would be an enemy that becomes an ally. Also I feel like there’s a source for authorities that maybe come from Subaru’s world or the Elior Forest seal using a similar idea from log horizon

Killing Emilia's parents might not be a necessarily bad thing since we know Flugel was a scumbag who left Shaula on the tower and Guese seems like a side kick of him who just does what he says. I believe Flugel was Subaru but somewhat they made him crazy so he kinda take revenge on everyone. Incliding Reid, Volcanica and Shaula and when Satella tried to stop him by doing something reckless she swallowed the world.
So there is also the possiblity of Fortuna being delusional... At worse... Seal keeps the remains of Minerva. Even if it's Satella's it doesn't matter since Pleiades seal still keeps her. So there is a possibility she just protects something actually important for Pandora. I think that seal is connected with Subaru's past and that's why no one in the series can make the easiest connection of FlugelSubaru.
If Pandora didn't killed Theresia she would've died anyway and also erased from the world. How do I know she would die? Well... Q/A and she would've erased because that's probably the only attack that can kill her.

I also believe Tappei didn't even think a reason why the hell Pandora wouldn't just talk with Subaru in earlier part of series since that would broke the system.
Like if Subaru and Reinhard talked that would pretty much it and there would be no waifu needed for two of them to solve their problems. Tappei's biggest nightmare is Reinhard and Subaru talking.
Edit: I hope one of her transformations includes leaving that promise crazed part of her. "Make me trust you" is such a disgusting sentence said by Emilia time and time again. I was clapping Pandora when she was saying "Promise... Such a nice word isn't it?" Seemed like she was rather hostile to it. Just another similarity between her and Subaru since they probably the only 2 character in re zero world showed so fucking much hate to promises and vow's.

I think Subaru could be the final boss,because these experiences will make him crazy and the others have to save him or he have to fight with his inner self(It's just my theory but I feel like there is some things what's make me think this.)
1.I believe Subaru is really not in a stable mentality and in the if stories he easily became the bad guy after a small bad choise or after something made him crazy.
2.Almost every if story he's biggest enemy is Reinhard.I also think that Tappei mentioned or foreshadowed that he will die in the future.I think Subaru will kill him.(However in this case he will do something like teleport Reinhard to Japan and not killing him actually.)
3.In Emilia's future trial there were thing which seemed like an evil Subaru also Ram in the future mentioned that she wanted to kill somebody goodhearted and Rem said that they pray for forgiveness so maybe they found out the true about Subaru or killed Subaru because he became evil and they can't forgive themselves for not being able to save him.And it would make no sense that they mentioned these things if these things don't happen in the story.
4.In the shadow garden there were Sloth and Greed and Satella too so he may have to fight with them and they are in him so he will fight with his inner self.
