We've come to Vietnam's southern island paradise destination, Phú Quốc. We were told that this place is the ultimate beach and vacation destination in Vietnam!
In this video we explore the area we're staying in on Phu Quoc.
We first give you a tour of our cute hotel which is made up of a bunch of beach bungalows and has a pool directly on the beach as well as a beautiful beach front area.
    Book Thanh Kieu Resort: www.booking.com/hotel/vn/than...
After the hotel we walk over to the main street to have lunch and get one of our favourite dishes from Hanoi, Bun Cha as well as some incredible Vietnamese spring rolls!
This is where we tried it: goo.gl/maps/xdwp4tDJtuYmFHwf7
After lunch we went and got a coconut coffee, one of our favourite types of Vietnamese coffees at ANBA Coffee.
Later we head back towards the beach and talk about all the things we love about Phu Quoc, Vietnam and South East Asia.
We pick things up the next day back at the beach where we find an empty area of the beach to sit down and relax and have a swim. We talk about the various beach options including hotels and beach clubs in the area.
Lastly we had back to Thanh Kieu hotel's beach bar to have two delicious mango shakes.

Vietnamese springrolls using rice paper to wrap verses the wheat wrapper you see in supermarkets around the world. The good thing about rice paper is it's thinner and crispier, but you have to make it fresh, you can't refry them... whereas wheat wrapper is thicker but you can put in the fridge and refry them again the next day .

In South Vietnam people like to eat sweeter than in the North . You can find Bun Cha and many other delicious Vietnamese dishes in Vancouver , Toronto , Montreal , Ottawa and even Quebec City . BTW which city in Canada are you from . My son is currently a student at McGill University in Mtl . He just came back to Vietnam to visit us for 2 weeks on the Lunar New Year . Hope you do enjoy your stay in our country my friends .

I recommend fellow travelers stay in resorts in the western part of the island, 34 minutes from the airport. They maintain private beaches every day. There aren't many local food options but the places are less crowded. You can enjoy food in the resorts.

Dont miss Starfish beach, Sao beach, Kiss Bridge, Hon Thom Cable car, Mong Tay Island, Phu Quoc nightmaket, Vin safari, Phu Quoc National Park, History and Meaning of Phu Quoc Prison, .... Phu Quoc's gleaming white sand beaches have earned it the nickname "Pearl Island", but the island's environmental conservation efforts and cultural heritage deserve as much attention as its picturesque sand and surf. Fishing and agriculture remain primary industries, and more than half the laid-back island has been protected by a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2006., home to fish sauce, pepper, and pearls, Phu Quoc offers both luxury and local life, with clean water by day and clear skies at night.
Phu Quoc is warm and comfortable year-round, with an average temperature hovering around 27°C. It's coolest in the dry season between October and March, and hottest in April and May, when the rain begins to take hold. By July, the rainy season is in full swing, bringing cooler temperatures until October.

I would call them fried spring rolls or even better, teach Westeners to call them nem ran (might be easier to just have them call it nem) or cha gio. Eggrolls to me are of Chinese origin. Just like the Filipinos have taught people to call theirs lumpia instead of eggrolls. If Westerners can learn to say pho and banh mi, then nem or cha gio can be done.

The food in the south is overly sweet at times (and what a travesty they did that to bun cha), which ruins the taste when you can no longer determine if you're eating a savory dish or a dessert. If they can reel that back, then the food would be perfect. As far as the fried spring rolls, when you see the outside like that, it's rice paper, which is what is traditionally used. However, there's another version that uses thin sheets of bun (rice vermicelli). I'm surprised you guys didn't do any of the activities there as there's a great waterpark, safari, etc.

I wasn't sure if you were gonna show numbers & was just about to switch channels when you mentioned room rate. A bit much for me, but it's the info I'm after. Excellent food, as usual for Vietnam. Great prices too. I watch videos on Thailand & Vietnam & I like the versatility between channels. I'll be checking you out.👍🇻🇳🥢

Wow! 85 bucks per night for that luxury bungalow with gorgeous tropical landscapes and right by the beach is a bargain!
