    • @Njx063
      @Njx063 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes there IS. Idk what kind of shitty country of referees you got, but you are NOT allowed to go above the board when shooting at the goal during a corner.
      The only exceptions are when shooting is when you shoot low, but someone lays their stick in a position that causes the ball to go above the board.
      Also when the ball goes outside the striped lines, but then it’s not a corner anymore.

    • @crismaloney
      @crismaloney 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Njx063 There are no referees in field hockey, only umpires. And, you're also not correct about the rules governing penalty corners if you think you're not allowed to score above the boards on a penalty corner. I am only referring to the FIH's Rules of Hockey.

      @@crismaloney I agree with most of your other comments in this post but I'm not so sure about this one. Just double checked the FIH rules for Jan 2022 and it states in section 13.3 "if the first shot at goal is a hit (as opposed to a push,
      flick or scoop), the ball must cross the goal-line, or be
      on a path which would have resulted in it crossing the
      goal-line, at a height of not more than 460 mm (the
      height of the backboard) before any deflection, for a
      goal to be scored".

    • @crismaloney
      @crismaloney 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrehannah2700 Let’s start by agreeing that in no part of 13.3 does the rule say that the ball has to make contact with the backboard. There are multiple ways that the hitting action can be used on the first shot and the ball never touches the boards.

    Sounds like you're talking about field hockey, not regular Ice hockey

    There are no referees in field hockey. Only umpires.

      @@Njx063 Nope. Referees don't make judgments. Umpires make judgments. Example, basketball referee is like a police officer. The defender touched the shooter in the act of shooting or didn't. The whistle is blown if the defender made contact. In field hockey, the defender breached by touching the attacker but the umpire judges what happens and, like a judge, applies a punishment -- everything from nothing to a penalty stroke and a red card.

      Bro you need to stop whining about it my man's tried his best to make an informative video and yeah he made a few mistakes, understandable because I doubt he plays hockey. Take a chill pill honestly, you don't need to be so right about everything all the time, watch the video make a couple of corrections at most and then move on, most people watching this will be viewing it as other sports purely out of interest, or hockey players themselves who already know the rules or will learn them in time. Not sure about you but I can't remember someone who was skilled enough to throw an overhead, but not understand the rule at all. 🤷‍♂

    There is so much wrong with this video and it's impressive. You really need to get a rule book and read it as there are several mistakes in this video. For example, tackling from behind is perfectly legal, the same thing applies to standing in the way of the attacker which is also perfectly legal. Hitting out the back of the field you take it from the first quarter line more commonly known as the 25. The two lines on the side used to be used for long corners as you would take the ball from either one.
    In short, you should be ashamed of the low quality and misleading nature of the video.
