yo i had the same problem with mirror!! i painted my guitar with it. it looked amazing! and then the moment i put on any kind of clear it just RUINED IT. not only does it dissolve the paint away it completely clouds up the mirror effect so it ends up looking like a regular silver paint. i've even emailed them before trying and they told me i could use ANY kind of clear coat on top as long as i "make sure it's super clear". so disappointed and now i'm painting it a different color but cleaning it off the guitar was a giant ass hassle as well TT____TT and you gotta be careful getting it on your hands as well. also a giant hassle to clean it off your hands.
OMG dude yesssss. I REALly wish I would have known before I bought it. It's REALLY pretty stuff, but they NEED to tell people that you can't clear coat it. I can't believe they told you that you could. Either they haven't tried it themselves, or they have some magical clear coat we don't know about. I'm so sorry that happened to you! And yeah, it's a pain to get off your hands. I try to remain cautious about any type of "metallic" thing getting on my hands, but sometimes it happens.
I was going to buy it to do the exact same thing. I wanted to do a transparent (candy) color over mirror, and could not get a straight answer from them. Now I know why, thank you so much.
What a wonderful exhibit, thank you for doing this!
You live and learn. Lol. Your attitude is great!
We can laugh or cry! I absolutely had to laugh and move on!
In his vídeo Stuart did mention the paint was solvente based! But the way It dispersed in the varnish should make for a cool galaxy effect.
This could be interesting to explore! Thanks for the suggestion!
This is awesome, can’t wait to give this paint a try, and excellent artwork you created until well...
Haha enjoy it! It's pretty fun stuff.
It looked so beautiful! right before the mirror paint decided it didn't want to be involved anymore and was like "later!"
LMAO it straight dipped from the canvas 😂😂
Omg 🤦🏽♀️ when you put the varnish at the end...I was like 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 YESSS lol then I cried ... good to know thanks! Painting was 🔥 btw!
Man, LOL I was so soooo sad!

It was sad, nope u can do it again
Damn that sucks this was a amazing video either way
Haha man, it really does suck. But it could have been way worse. At least it was a pretty easy painting!
it's a real shame this mirror paint cant take clear coat or varnish
Yeah... It's still a good paint, but just keep it from varnish. 😬
