    The Core V21 is the same case I have, it's not a case you see used often in tech channels and I think it's criminally overlooked. It's very cost effective, modular, comes with a quiet 200mm fan, it has plenty of clearance for tower coolers and 240 AIOs and it's very easy to build in. It's not flashy but it's incredibly practical.

    Jay seemed surprised at the 32gigs of ram. Even for gaming, if you start modding some games, quite a few of them have a surprising tendency to go very high in ram usage. Kerbal Space Program modded can easily eat 29 Gigs of my ram with the crazy mods out there. It's only one of the lot.

    • @Drianikaben
      @Drianikaben ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@CakePrincessCelestia DCS is the exception not the rule. You're almost never going to find RAM being your bottleneck at 16gb even with something like discord and tabs of youtube open in the background. DCS has absolutely atrocious optimization, which is why the RAM issues always appear later once the memory leak kicks in and progress until the game crashes (or continues to stutter).
      As of right now, 32GB is not for most gamers. But if you're sure you can justify it with the extra heavy applications you have open or heavy modding you do, or just so happen to play a rare and old horribly optimized game then 32GB might meet your standards.

      I've honestly not seen the point of all the bells and whistles in gaming for awhile. I'm usually moving fast enough the eye candy falls to the wayside. Ray tracing has implications that could impact gameplay directly, but noone is designing games for it and better shadows just don't matter when everything is moving and things are trying to kill you. My brain isn't actively noticing them. By the time ray tracing does become important current or last gen will work just fine. Everything is good enough.

    Super interesting choices. One thing I'll say, some games are shockingly RAM-hungry these days, and even for a pure gaming rig, I would opt for 32GB if it was in-budget. At 16GB I had just a couple of games which would peg my RAM utilization around 95+%. Wasn't experiencing instability, and I didn't A-B test to see if increasing to 32GB actually boosted performance, but for me personally at least, that cemented 32GB as the new baseline to make sure I won't have to upgrade RAM to make a game playable in the near future.
    I appreciate the RGB setup. Philips probably wouldn't be my go-to, but there's value in having a personalized space that looks and feels like your own. Pairing a 3060 with a 4K display, and gaming on a 60hz display, I might start to have some misgivings, but I sincerely hope Murray enjoys the outcomes. :)

    • @TiaKatt
      @TiaKatt ปีที่แล้ว
