Sims 2 pets for the gba was my first ever sims game. It was a wonderful adventure of 6 year old me having my sims eat dog food and constantly passing out trying to recycle cans. 13 years later and I still am obsessed with the sims.
Honestly in hindsight this game was kinda good the ending is rubbish but I guess it was more about the journey, where we eat dog food!!🤪 I am glad I wasn’t the only one making my sim eat the dog food tho 😂 omg what an experience for 6 year old you!! 🫶

As a kid i had sims 2 pets for DS and i just could not figure it out. I basically only played it to customize my pet and sim, because id only get 10 minutes into the actual game before failing

Oh my god okay sims 2 pets on ds actually was the scariest game for me as a kid, I was 8 when I got it and I didn't really understand how it worked so I just kept being in this loop of neglecting the pets because the dog whining on the exam table makes it seem like youre hurting them, making dogs very sick, customers being mad at me for making their pet on the verge of death, and my sim collapsing!! It didn't help that the ominous music, scary looking sims, non-human dialogue, cramped house, pets whining like theyre in pain, and sci-fi tube for the pets to stay in for DAYS!! all made everything seem so horrifying. Something just did not feel right about that game!! Not goofy and self-aware in any way like sims 2 psp, this was like they accidentally created every kids nightmare

I think the Pets stuff was a big step down from previous handheld Sims games. They're all bland, buggy and they feel rushed, imo. Especially the Sims apartment pets... a quick cash grab with no identity.

Lol I have that game, play it from time to time, and I still don't know how to heal a fracture. If I get a dog or cat who's limping, I just send them off to another vet immediately. I treat everything except the fractures

I played sims 2 Pets for GBA as a kid!!! it was soooo terrible. It used real time and took forever to fill bars and everything moved so slow. I played it for a long time anyways as a kid even though it was bad lol
I had Sims 2 pets on PS2. Was a lazy, rushed, crappier version of the sims 2 on PS2 but with pets and no story mode. Doesn't look like they put much effort into the handheld counterparts. Wonder why ports of Pets 2 were so consistently lazy?
Oh really?!? see I started to play on the sims 2 pets for psp and it sounds like it was the same like a sandbox mode? Such a shame though cos they could’ve been so good!!
I used to play The Sims 2 Pets for the DS, and I did manage to get things like a bigger house and some pretty furniture. But honestly is still a shovelware game, the gameplay is very repetitive with only like three diseases to cure, there is a point where there are too many people to attend on the clinic so you end with many getting mad or just asking to put a custome to their pets, and really there is not much to do. There is no story, no goal, and it doesn´t seem to have an actual ending either, just doing vet stuff until you get bored. The Sim aspect is also very water down when the only need that really matters to make you go outside of the house is socializing at the park and that´s it. You cannot get a different job, create a family, nothing really. PS: At least you could buy a radio and change the music so is less annoying.
