- This is an older Ark Survival Evolved base design of mine. I wanted to redo it in Ark Survival Ascended because of the change to the build system, specifically the wall height. It makes for steeper slopes and definitely looks better for A-Frames.
The Ark Survival Ascended building mechanics are just far better than the original and I will be trying a few of my older builds out to see how they compare.
This build is technically a modded build because I use glass from the mod Arkitect Structures Remastered. It is just the glass, you can easily swap it out for the glass in vanilla, this just looks better.

Disclaimer: Most of my builds are always built with the idea that you may want to follow along in mind, however, they are speed builds at their core and I have been known to change my mind mid build. If you plan to follow along, I suggest watching it through a bit further, first. At least now you can pick pieces up!

You're welcome! I used to make them all the time when I first started. It helped me when I had no idea what I was doing to over plan aha. Then I started winging it a lot. For smaller builds, I will definitely keep doing it.

Wouldn’t it be great if Ark allowed creators to design home/base plans and all you have to do as a player, is buy a plan you like, find a spot then lay it out instantly 😊

The overall upgrade to the building system in ascended is phenomenal because now us non pvp players can finally build good looking bases without fear lol

that doesnt make sense why would non pvpers have fear? theres noone to kill them
@@sticky8590 Because its very easy to grief peoples bases even in non pvp maps since there are ways to destroy buildings without pvp on, the only true protection in pve maps is to have dmg to structures disabled entirely

I like it so much, this structure is simple but the shape, rythme language is on point (to my tastes), like a Mondrian's painting, just lines and squares but the rythme is so good. And i also really like that you went that far and cerated a plan for it, i feel less "ashamed" at some point that i make sketches before building in Ark sometime, like i'm going to far or as if i was too involved in the process of doing a house or whatnot hahaha. Good job !!

How do you stack foundations??
They aren't stacking. You can't do that. What you're seeing is a foundation being raised up due to the ground being uneven. It's still just one foundation.

I already installed the ASR mod but the normal roofs didn't want to work like that, it would be so awesome! 🥰
They are snapping to a quarter ceiling piece. That way, they can be half over the wall. You do need structure collision to be enabled on your server or single-player playthrough, though, apparently. Even tho it's not appearing to clip.

@@kiitarie I cant seem to snap my roofs to overhang like yours. I try the quarter wall but it just wont snap 😢
Try removing the wall underneath, placing the overhang and then putting it back.

Great build 10/10 !! I've always loved the building system even in ASE despite it being fairly janky :)
also if you don't mind me asking, what are your hardware specs? I've heard that ASA is really hefty in performance but it looks great.
Thank you so much! I have a 13th gen i7 or there abouts. A 3070 gpu and 32 gb of ram. The lack of frames is my biggest issue.

And yes lag spikes are very common with both Ark Survival games, so i'm not too surprised there unfortunately. Plus the crashing seems to be worse in ASA :/
I have a 2060 super and an i5-9600k but I might upgrade to a 4070 and whatever CPU upgrade I can get soon. Can't wait to be able to try this game out at some point down the line :D
I never had any issues with ASE. That would be a nice rig upgrade. I'm personally waiting for more content. More maps. Adobe walls. Rugs XD

I tried this once with adobe instead of thatch, they can be very interesting, I don't think I pulled it off all too well. It was too small to really showcase the different pieces. I will have to try this in ASA.@@wolfbanefist111

I drew that myself. Made it all with clip studio pro, then animated it with After Effects.

@kiitarie I love your buildings/bases. I have some experience using UE5 and I take a look as an ASA mod works and I'm think make some new blocks using good materials like marbles and others. Also maybe round blocks. Some ideas of what you think would be good having in ARK ASA?
Round would be amazing!!! I am always down for more materials. I'm missing adobe right now as we have to wait for Scorched Earth to get it :(

You need to be playing on a server or single-player game that has structure collision disabled. It's the best way to play!

What mod is the clear greenhouse glass?
Arkitect Structures Remastered. You can flip between corrugated or plain. It's so good! Yeah we normally build on the larger side too lol

Something weird is that on Xbox, we have kind of a uv filter on glasses wall....its not shiny like yours.

The house is built with one mod for the glass. If you don't want to build it with mods, you can change out the glass for vanilla.
Precisely how much metal is needed, I don't know. The material list is at the start of the video.
I used pillars where the wood meets the glass I didn't like the gaps there and for some reason your greenhouse glass looks different than mine. Yours is clear mine has horizontal lines in it. Either way I like your build. Very nice

@@lucare2146 Are you on a server with structure collision disabled? I believe you would need to be for that to work.
I made this on a official server turns out the roof actually isn't possible unless you remove the slopped walls to get the right snap point and also you can't put the ceilings inside each other so there sticking out in the larger room and for the hallway I widened it with quarter ceilings for the floor so there wasn't a gap and no ceiling sticking through
Can you place the sloped walls after you get the wall into place? It's really good to know that there's a workaround for officials!

I have a 3070 also. Does your game still run like doodoo? I get 30 frames if I'm lucky. It's incredibly annoying.
@@kiitarie Ive upgraded to an ryzen7 7800x3d. Now i get 75fps with medium settings. (I had an i7-10700kf) i disable clouds and fog.

A vast improvement over the older build, well done. I'd love to give the new build system a try but there's no word if ASA will ever come to the Switch, so I'm stuck with Evolved. 😅
I remember doing this for you! I had to try it out again. I hope ASA comes to the switch for you. It is not much different game wise but it looks and feels so much better.

It's snapping to the quarter ceiling piece. You can remove the sloped wall underneath if it's easier.

Have you tried using the player settings to slow the playback speed of the video down? It's a speed build at 200% so playing it at half speed will put it to normal speed.

No worries, I think you can slow it down even more than 50% too. So you should be able to find a speed that works for you! Good luck.@@fletchlad82D
