It can definitely be a long process, take your time with it and give yourself some grace because it’s not easy! 💕 not sure if you’ve seen my past decluttering videos but I’ve shared what helps me through the process - if you’re interested ☺️
Thank you for a such concise but informative video! I’m a few years into downsizing and elevating my wardrobe, and every single point you’ve mentioned has resonated with me. I think it’s a way to not only improve your looks, save decision-making time and energy for more important things in your life, but also a way to get to know yourself better and create a lifestyle that suits your very personal needs. Fantastic job Haley, you’re a great role model!
Hi Alyona - I’m grateful that this resonated with you. I agree it’s definitely a simple way to learn about oneself and adapt easily to lifestyle changes. Thanks for your encouragement 💕
Hey Haley…imo I don’t recommend a ball cap to help elevate your style. I actually think that it takes your outfit down a notch. I’m Italian American & so I am a little biased, but I would recommend wearing a fedora instead. Fedoras have been in style for over 100 years. U mentioned that u liked your straw bag. Fedoras come in many materials for all seasons. I actually own a straw fedora. I say “straw” but u know what I mean. Also, these hats r stylish in both Europe and America. Scarves & sunglasses also can elevate your style along w/jewelry & a nice bag too.
I'm in the process of downsizing, which is not easy for a fashionista😀 I've treated myself with a stylist, so you get a fresh look on your wardrobe and many new combinations and ideas, so the rush to shop is getting down.
I read a book years ago called 'The Terrific Thirty' by Wendy Mak (it's since been rebranded 'The Capsule Wardrobe'). The author shows how you can have 1000 outfits with just 30 items. I've used this method successfully for many years. In addition, keep a 'Look Book' of pics of cute outfit combos as a reminder for when 'you've got nothing to wear'.
sometimes i just play with clothes i've never combined before. it's funny, sometimes the gals at work ask me if i got new clothes & it's just a "totally new outfit"
Fair question Linda! I personally find them the easiest wardrobe item to wear with any outfit (both casual and dressy) - so my little collection is a variety of fabrics that I rotate.
@@HaleyVillena I live in a motor home so my capsule is very limited in size and white I personally can’t wear due to where I may live , so glad you can wear it
Awesome, I’m at 100 items right now too! It took me a long time to get here but now I think I’ll work toward 85. I still feel like I have plenty of stuff!
How do you keep things fresh in your wardrobe? ⚡️
sometimes a new lipstick or nail polish refreshes my wardrobe 💄💅
@@stephanieg2000 thanks for sharing! ☺️
@user-sf7rh1xn5zthank you for sharing!! Love that your choice to invest in that purse proved to be worthwhile 😊
I would love to see a video on you showing what you have, what shoes and clothes you have and whta for each season 😁
Yes!!!
Hi! Thanks for letting me know - I’ll add this video idea to the queue 🤭
I add a scarf around my neck to any outfit and it gives it a sense of a sophistication. Super easy and elegant.
That is what I wanted to add. I use scarves to freshen looks, especially during travel to mix & match pieces easier.
I've been trying to declutter, it's so hard to let go but you are so right

Hi Portia - thank you for recommending this book. I have added that to my reading list! The look book is also genius.
I missed these types of videos from you, this was great!
It was fun getting back into the topic! 🤗 Thanks for sticking around 💕

Do you know about how many items you own?
My collection in full is just under 100 items (minus jewellery) ☺️

I'm always curious why you wear a J on your necklace.
My husbands name starts with J 🥰
