Wood ash fire rolls are easy to ignite because the ash on the top and bottom boards allows them to grip the roll, drive it, compact it, and thereby create an ember. In contrast, non-ash fire rolling can be very frustrating due to the lack of grip. Often, the top board will slide across the fire roll and flatten it out before it even gets close to ignition. Seeking a natural grip medium that is both widespread and accessible, I decided to try pine sap or resin in its clear liquid form. Today, I tested it and was thrilled to see how beautifully it worked to grip and drive seven fire rolls! Please follow the LINKs below and SUBSCRIBE. Thank You! Yellow pear shaped 1/16" long Mullein bugs killed it in a couple of days. Still though, I wouldn't have it any other way. I want nature to have her way with it and then I'll make fire out of what's left... like in today's video.
Hi Mr. West! You sure are the KING on making fire! NASA could definitely use some of your skills, I would bet you would be able to start a fire using water!!😂🤣 just adding some humor Mr. West!! It so amazing how much knowledge you have been given all of us! Thank you! STRENGTH AND HONOR my friend, be well!👍🏽💯❤️🙏
Interesting video! The sap from cherry trees is water soluble. You may want to lay down a thin coat on the table and let dry a little for a fire roll. This is just a speculation. I’ve been watching your videos for years! GREAT information Dave. 👍

Acetone works perfectly to dissolve pine resin even when it's old and even when it's in fatwood!
Super interested by this new series of yours, David !!
Glad to hear it!
You sir are the fire roll king.
It's a fun technique.
Good video David, thanks for sharing, YAH bless !
Fascinating pyromania!
Wow didn’t expect to see the mullein plant to be dry.

Likewise good friend!
Hi David! I am glad you decided to do the experiment with the pine resin. The win in this game rests in the nuance, I think.
Cool, thanks

Is it sticky when dry?
I saw that Mullen a few months ago on your other vids, I thought you might use it for something,,,,! 😆
I'm hoping to get hand and bow drill out of it also... fire roll the pith also.
Dry pitch crushed and mopped up with roll?
Have you tried pine straw in the cotton ball?
Yes. Everything logical has already been tried. See my fire roll playlist.
