I am 80 and moved from Alabama after living there for 80 years to live with one of my 4 sons & his wife. After realizing I had forfeited my attitude of gratitude and started to become sad over all I left behind:church-life long friends-family-my little house! After watching this today, my heart began to be filled with gratitude, joy, thankful for all that God has blessed me with and to focus on the plans He has for my remaining years! I truly believe that when we allow our hearts to have gratitude, it can change our earthly "hells" into "heavens." My husband and I lived for several years in a tiny 300 square foot cottage. Living there was challenging especially in that it had mold and I developed mold illness. Then Lyme disease. We could not move due to our finances and living in an expensive area where rents were very high. Finally when opportunity knocked, we moved and everyone asked us how glad we were to get out. But I was sad. All I thought of were the nights my husband and I ate a candle light dinner at our tiny little table together, the coziness of our little place, the laughs we had from watching our now deceased big white cat being so funny and cute, sitting under the little apple tree in the yard watching the stars...the list goes on! I don't know how we were so very blessed when we really do not deserve God's blessings at all...and to this day I am still in love with those precious memories. God is so good and kind!

A couple of years ago, God spoke to me about grumbling. I was reading about the Israelites wandering the dessert and no matter what God did for them, they grumbled against God and it angered God. Its so easy to complain. I too hate the heat. I dislike Summer the most but when God spoke to me about appreciation, I quit. I try and thank Him for things instead. First, I wake up thanking Him for a new day. For the morning sun shining through my kitchen window. For rain even though we're at close to 10 inches here in Michigan. We could have been in a drought but we're not. Drought is worse. Today is a cool sunny day FINALLY! Even my cats are frisky and happy! ❤
It is amazing what gratitude accomplishes. There have been times when I chose not to be grateful simply to hold on to my own pain-like that was better!🙄 gratitude heals.

I agree 100%. When I started living in a state of gratitude and thankfulness my joy and love for life increased immensely. I try to thank God over and over throughout my day for ALL of His MANY blessings. I agree that in the natural we kind of want to whine and complain and I have to catch my thought, take it captive and turn my thought to gratitude. I believe the Holy Spirit helps me with this challenge.

I am so grateful to the Most High YAH for EVERYTHING in my life. From life, breath of life and everything from family to our home and whats in it. I'm grateful for hard times too, because with those hard times, i see the works of YAH in me and my faith strengthens.
The enemy constantly tries to destroy my faith in many different ways, but he should know by now that with every negative thought, with every hard times thrown at me, I ALWAYS lean on YAHUSHA to bring me back to finding my peace and joy. It's all because i am so grateful. YAH is so good. Feeling the love from Him, seeing His love all around me, it is never ending and helps me switch of the negative thoughts and feelings. Helps me be a better wife and a better mom.

I so loved this video, Lea! As my family has been homeless for a little over a month, I do have days of complaint. But seeing God's hand of proctection over us and all the other ways He takes care of us, really helps. I needed this reminder, thank you! @@LittleHouseOnTheMountain We did have a bout of illness, but are back to feeling ourselves again. One of the difficulties is dealing with the heat. We live in Texas and have already had triple digits.

I definitely love how our eyes can bring in these images to our mind that will help our functioning, really. I love encouraging others. I have found that sometimes when I vocalize to people something about their personality or how they treat others. . .I have seen tears well up in their eyes by being noticed. Showing gratitude is one of the hardest things to do. And why is that, when we expect it to be shown to us by others? Very interesting how the human mind and heart works. But, how beautiful the world would be if we could all learn to slow down and be thankful to the people and things around us.

I appreciate this video. Gratitude indeed needs to be trained. I'm dealing with a situation right now where I need to be grateful towards someone who is helping me with something, but I also know that they are doing something in the background that is very hurtful to me and I can't say anything about it, due to the help I am receiving from them. I need to teach myself to say thank you and be grateful. But boy can it be difficult! ❤

Gratitude… it’s a word we really do seem to forget but it is so necessary. I’m at times such a “negative Nancy” type of person at times. I desire for my heart to be trained more focused on Gods beauty in all things bc I know in my heart is there in all things. Thank you Lea for this. Could you give maybe some ideas on how to have more a slower intentional life for women who are in the ever going ever fast season of being mommas? I truly desire to train myself but when the new day arises I hit the floor running and am just begging for 15-30 min a day to read my Bible when the little is playing. Sounds stupid I guess bc I am GRATEFUL 😊 for my children but sometimes I feel like everything else in me is put on hold.

Gratitude. Something I really went into this summer with is an attitude of gratitude. I wanted to be thankful for the season and all it has to offer. All I can say is it hasn't been easy.
I legit do not look forward to summer weather because I have a heat sensitivity that I really have to pay attention to. So far we have had more days of excessive heat advisories just in June and this first half of July than we had all of last summer. It's been awful.
The best I can do is think of it as a time Jesus wants me to do something different or get to indoor projects that need attention. That helps give me an attitude adjustment. Looking to Him will never disappoint us. 😊

I've visited the east several times in the dead of summer with the humidity. Yikes! Pretty brutal. Here in the west it's dry as a bone. I think the humidity is like, 11%😂. It feels like a hair dryer. It's supposed to get to 106 today. We are heading to the mountains this weekend for a little reprieve. There are so many fires that the smoke is blocking some of the sun, which is a blessing oddly enough. Last January I was lamenting (okay, complaining) about the cold. Forgive me Lord. Thankful for 4 seasons though.
