Prosthechea seem to be some of the easiest and most vigorous of the Cattleya alliance. With any luck, you will have a little bush like Nina's in a couple of years.

THAT is the one I wanted, originally!! I LOVE the color 😍 I won't be trying to get one like it though... one of them is plenty, considering how quickly they grow, but yeah... that is what I saw online when I ordered mine and I got the alba. Grateful to have a healthy plant, that counts for something 😅 really appreciate you showing your's in a CareCollab, thank you so very much ❤️

Hi what's up, lovely plant. Thanks for the video. Mine is about to open any day now, it had such a beautiful sweet marshmallow fragrance last time it flowered and the blooms last a long time. Yours is bound to get more fragrant as it gets older. I like that it tolerates the cold uk winter temps but it certainly does not like low light. It likes cattleya light levels. I did manage to get it to flower with no additional light the first year but it struggled without after that here in the uk. Once it takes off it really starts to grow fast in all directions. I really don't know what I will do with mine long term but while they are small they are cute, under high light that really doesn't last long. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like next year.

Thank you Tom, I really like this plant 🥰 I can already see how vigorous it is, it's not even finished developing the new growth and I am already seeing another growth starting to push on from that! It won't take any time to fill up that pot 😅

Hi 😊. I've also got one of these from Burnhams and mine was in bud too and I now have just the one bloom 😊.
There is definitely a fragrance with mine and I think it does need sun to bring that out.
Mine is on a low table set back from my south facing patio doors (I'm in south east UK) so its getting some pretty direct sun at times. I've had mine for about a month now and it really doesn't seem to mind the direct sun as I've had no problems as yet 😊.
My bloom seems to be paler than yours so I think the colour and patterning can vary... Even on the same plant I believe....but don't quote me on that lol. I look forward to seeing the progress of yours and hope you do detect the scent soon. Happy growing 😊.

Thanks Maxine, we must gave gotten our plants roughly at the same time from the same nursery, so cool! 🥰 I'm glad yours has fragrance, I hope mine will get fragrant maybe next time it blooms after it got used to growing under lights 🤞👍

Maxine, can you tell me what fragrance you smell with this one, I have sensitivities to strong smells that are too rosey or jasmine or lavender smells.
I am looking at ordering one on a sale

Hi🤗m When the flowers open the first bloom is followed quickly by a second bud opening so I get two flowers that are open back to back. They look like miniature pink cranes. I grow mine between, min 15C - 26C max, in a SW aspect, it gets some afternoon Sun. I have the most beautiful scent on mine, like a floral, Jasmine type scent. Hope yours settles in its new set up and flourishes well for you.🌸💕

Mine is not doing too well, so I'm maybe not the best to give advise 😅 but I think it needs a lot of water as the leaves just crinkle up otherwise...

@What's up orchids? Thank you for replying, I actually got one of these from the same nursery yours is from today :) I'm tempted to water it immediately now, haha! There sure is some mixed information out there. Hopefully she'll be okay, such a pretty orchid!
