Kanchenjunga to Makalu part of GHT goes through restricted areas where trekking permits, guide and a group of at least two trekkers is the legal requirement. Yet you are apparently walking alone. How were you able to circumvent the permit requirements?

No circumventing needed. In Kanchenjunga I had all the permits required. The guy at the checkpoint charged me an extra $20 for not having a guide.
