I’ve read the mac mini only has 1 hdmi port. How do you manage to have a dual monitor setup?
@@obijohns6197 yeah one is in HDMI and the other is in USB-C slot. So one of the monitor cables is HDMI to USB-C

Sure thing. I use the two USB-C ports in the back of the Mac mini. One of the monitors uses HDMI cable to USB-C adapter and goes directly into the Mac. In the other USB-C port on the Mac, I have a powered docking station / hub connected. In the back of the hub is an HDMI cable going to the second monitor. Depending on the power requirements of your monitors, it may not be necessary to use a powered hub for one of them. Here is the hub / docking station I'm using too: a.co/d/0gCABVFY

How did you connect this logitech keyboard? Does the mac mini recognize it in startup setup?
Good question and a huge source of frustration. No it didn’t recognize it. I had to go to a local store and buy a cheap wired mouse and keyboard to go through setup. Also that experience now makes me think about buying the wireless devices which insert a small usb receiver versus Bluetooth. Those do work right away and don’t have connectivity issues. And some Bluetooth peripherals give you the option and include those receivers.

Unfortunately no. Which is so stupid and frustrating. I had to run to the store to buy a cheap $15 combo pack I used then kept in case of emergency.

Why do you need a monitor light?
Reasonable question :) it’s not really a light “for” the monitor, it just sits on the monitor but puts lights on your desk to light up keyboard, writing surface etc. what makes it so cool is the light doesn’t spill everywhere it’s super discrete. Hopefully that makes more sense

The 16gb of ram would help indeed. Should be able to do it though. Probably should have the biggest hard drive you can afford internally or get good externals with fast transfer rates.

Good question. It was a struggle to get right at first but here is what works. Originally I wanted all monitors in one hub. And just connect one single usb c from hub to mac. That doesn’t work even on powered hubs. (Unless you spend like $400 on a specific hub). So I did a sort of middle ground approach and ended up getting this powered hub by Anker. Still won’t power both monitors in the single hub but it was a step closer and wasn’t glitchy in terms of power.

So ultimately my setup has one monitor and all my peripherals go into this hub. And the second monitor I just plug directly into the Mac mini by HDMI to usb c cable. So two usb c cables going into Mac mini.
An advantage of this setup is if I want to connect a monitor to my iPad I just pull that usb c cable from Mac mini and plug it into my iPad. So it’s always an extra monitor I can plug into another device easily.

How's the keyboard?
I love it. Just wish it was USB rechargeable and had lit keyboard buttons. But I love the size and battery lasts forever. Haven’t changed them yet.
How do you connect to monitors? I have mine stacked and the top one mirrors my bottom one it’s so annoying
One monitor I use the HDMI port and the other I use an HDMI to use C adapter. Then in settings you should be able to see both and make any adjustments.

How did you conveyed the two monitors simultaneously
Hi. If I understand your question correctly it’s merely extending the display. So a screensaver is going to apply to both at same time.

Yes, I’ve had mines for 2 years and haven’t changed the battery lol
Same experience here. haven't changed battery, the tactile feel is nice, it's small and portable if you need that and can have 3 different items you can connect it to. Only wish it had back lit keys, but for under $40 bucks I wouldn't get another keyboard.

My MacBook Pro i7, 16 gb of ram felt slower than this mac mini but I haven’t checked the browser with that many tabs. I’ll do that this weekend and upload a shirt with that performance! @@youtubeitisisntit7333 hi. I’m not sure about the specific benchmarks but Apple Silicon is very good from what I hear (and my own anecdotal experience). My 6 year old intel i7 chip was an excellent performer in the MBP and still felt quick and was fine for most of my work.

@@Mosryt hi there. The Mac isn’t a great gaming platform as most tier A titles aren’t available. But for streaming and editing and productivity it’s good. Whole setup is roughly as follows:
Mac mini: $600
Desk: $350
Monitors: $300 total for both
Accessories: maybe $100 bucks
So roughly $1,350 ish.
