Which movie was this?! It’s no secret they were related but other European royal couples like Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were cousins.
Inbreeding is still a problem for today’s monarchy. It is why Diana was brought in & William being allowed to marry Kate. They marry relatives from other countries that are close to England. The Queen & Philip were related. Charles & Camilla are also related.
It’s not exactly surprising. Inbreeding among royals was pretty common back in the day.
