    To all those who worked on this incredible short film: There was a guy I've known since the 1970s and he was a master story teller and a great side kick to have along when country car searching back throughout the 80s. You've captured his spirit in the art of American car lore, suspense and intrigue. Tragically, my friend who was beloved by many many people, died unexpectedly only a week ago. How your film, which I know he would have enjoyed immensely, mysteriously showed up on my YT screen...I'll just say, perhaps all Phantoms aren't too bad. Please, keep sharing your talents and most importantly...enjoy the ride while you're doing what you obviously love to do.

    • @spankthemonkey3437
      @spankthemonkey3437 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@senserfilms this movie has potential and it could go a couple different routes too, it could take dark turn or something a little brighter and less evil spirit. And maybe you choose a less spiritual approach and it could have been an old-school lore to cover for a hot rodder and car remained hidden because of a tragic accident that accidentally killed someone. Just a couple ideas to throw around unless you have already got something but either way hope I could help look forward to watching.
      Maybe few people in town or county helped cover for the car or cars driver. And dumped other vehicle in another county. a spooky story was made up to cover for the street racing. I tend to like the less spiritual story line not because I'm anti religion just it seems more realistic and easier to make. But I do like the sound of a spirit that possess anyone who drives the car and you are indestructible when driving forcing the other person to drive extremely hard and wreck. And the car "forced" someone in a race in opponent car to lose control and wreck. People come from all around to race the mysterious car and driver no one could beat. It doesn't have to go totally evil and it could present a valuable lesson on patience and carefulness

    • @Bikedueder
      @Bikedueder 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It used to be WAY more common. You would drive by an old house even in the middle of the city, and there would ALWAYS be an old car in the back, barely visible... Many times you could buy that car for pennies. Then the late 80's and 90's came along, and the Cash For Klunkers thing started. All those old cars seemed to vanish in less than five years. Now you drive by an old run down house, and you see a 1992 Buick LeSabre rusting away in the back, lol. What you get now are completely ragged out rusted junk cars for $10,000. The flippers have taken over EVERYTHING. No more deals, for anyone, ever. You have got to be VERY LUCKY, to find a complete old car in a barn now.

      That's a great idea. Kinda like Knight Rider, except without the cheesy talking. Mystery dude getting into various scrapes and adventures. The twist would be: the car doesn't save the driver. That's too cliche. The driver saves the car, over and over, episode after episode. Each episode would feature every more crazy/strange/impossible situations, requiring MacGyver-like ingenuity (get it? ENGINUITY!) to rescue the magic ride, the 6.6l TA. All the love interest of the car's driver should older, but hot women. The whole Mrs. Robinson thing, except the girls always are tied to something in the auto industry, somehow. Using just my proposed elements, intricate and unique stories could be woven each episode, continuing until the T/A is retired for something faster, sexier, and more refined: a Chevrolet C6 Corvette.

    When I was a teen, we worshipped these Trans Ams. We thought they were the schizzle. GINORMOUS 6.6 liter V8. My boss had a bright red 6.6l TA. We used to make these cars right here in L.A. in Van Nuys, the Valley. Nowadays? I'd take on any Trans Am car you want to throw at me in my C6 Corvette. My C6 is lighter, handles better, has more horsepower, more torque, a better suspension, gets better mileage, a faster 0-60, quicker 1/4 mile, and a higher top speed. I guess I wasn't as smart as I thought I was. Now that I'm older, I'm wiser, & faster, & I'll always love American muscle. Thanks for the cool little flick, and thank you for keeping these classic cars alive.

    I bought a brand new Pontiac Trans Am in 1979 with T-Tops, for $11K dollars..one of the best cars Ive ever owned and still gives me chills whenever I see one, and watching this movie brought back so many great memories of those carefree days growing up in the 80’s.

    John...you REALLY REALLY need to add to this short film!!! It is greatly worth it! I just bought a '79 Trans Am as a project. My parents had an '80 Formula Firebird when I was little and ever since then, I've wanted my own and finally have one. Your film re-inspires me to continue working on it. Sometimes I wonder if it possessed as well because it caught fire when I was driving it home from the used car dealership. Drove it 20 minutes and that's it! Took it to a repair shop and got screwed over with repairs and it's been fighting me every step of the way! I'm going to do it on my own, but it's been very challenging.

    Incredibly intrigued as to where this story goes, not sure why TH-cam recommended this to me but I'm glad it did. Would be cool to see the story expanded and see what happens if these two can actually Catch the car, as the first pair (If they even were the first) couldn't.
    Would love to get some insight on the creative, and production process If you're willing to share As I've always been incredibly into cinematography and film production.
    Please keep this series/Film coming If it's financially and logistically possible with your (I'd imagine anyway) Small team

    I'm hooked, and I need more of this story. I grew up around 2nd gen F-Bodies and I have a soft spot for them.
    I once stumbled across a Mayan Red 1979 Trans Am non-T-Top with a 400 that had been sitting in a garage for over twenty years. My buddy inherited the house from his father in law, and the garage was full of junk. They were cleaning it out and told me they found a car in there. I stopped by the house, and although they didn't know much about the car, I knew exactly what it was. It only had 40,000 miles and was last registered in 1989. I poured all over the car and was in awe of how original it was.
    It ended up going to my buddy's brother in law. He had it tuned up and drives it on occasion. I wish I could have had the chance to buy it, because it was probably the sweetest car I will ever find.

      That's kind of a low blow. Hollywood has been producing recycled crap for a long time now. They don't have any ideas. Definitely no new creativity. They are as unimaginative as they are predictable. Robot slaves to their dogmatic ethos. Jr. high school kids could do better than big name Hollywood types. Hollywood was yesterday's news yesterday. They deserve whatever misery the universe sends their way.
