Hi Gene Great to see another video. That has to be one of the most annoying dams I've watched anybody break. All those thin springy sapling branches, they were never ending. Have to say, I was beginning to hope you would just run off and get a bloody great excavator from somewhere, anywhere, hijack one....😀
Hi Excession, 👋 Thanks. It was brutal. There were so many tiny sticks! There were no big trees around for them to use. An excavator would have been nice for sure. This property owner had a couple of smaller ones. There was no getting through these fields without sinking, though. One day... lol.
Just ran into you again today, I've been a sub over 9 months at least I could find so far and glad to be watching your Channel too! Love to hear and watch while working myself too, split screens are ideal 😁 But umm.. what kind of snake was that? I am not afraid of them and know a little about them, also that a lot, just like a muskrat likes to live in a dam.. but just wondering what kinds of snakes live where you are working? But, loads of respect for you!! 👊😎
Hi Kaya, 👋 Thank you for sticking around 👍, much appreciated. What type of work do you do? I believe it was a Northern Water Snake. We have common Garter Snakes as well, but I am not sure what else. I know I have seen others, though. 🦫 🐍 🐢 🐸 🐟 🌊
It has recently been estimated that all of the beaver dams that existed in the tributaries of the Colorado River before the arrival of the white man held back more water than was held back by the Hoover Dam and the Glen Canyon dam combined when at their maximum capacity. And those beaver dams contributed a broader reach of water quality and water health, over the entire drainage, than Hoover or Glen Canyon could hope to approach. Just as the American prairies have never been made more bountiful than they were with the buffalo running wild upon them so too we are discovering, and too late, that the beaver surpasses the human being in building dams that maintain greater supply, health and vitality.
Seems like you are trying to get at something, but you're being very indirect. I am pretty sure even back then if a beaver plugged anyone's drainage system. They would remove the beavers and their dams. This one was flooding farm fields and private property. Maybe ask questions?
That's too bad. We have lots to spare, 🦫 I can't imagine living without them. I spend quite a bit of time with them. Our land would look so different in their absence. Northern Ontario 🇨🇦
some parts of england they are reintroducing them, YORK that floods every year and the somerset mashes, even the Thames vally so theres hope yet👍 scotland is doing well tho they are thriving
@@geneplumley4136 scotland is doing realy well, bears, red squillrels beavers and wild cats too, scotish wild cats are only small so we need to follow there example🤫👍

Hi Teresa, 👋
It really is the perfect job for me.
🦫 💪
Thanks.
A classic dam removal today. No visible traces of the dam are seen. A lot of labor, but excellent water flow make it all worthwhile. 😊
Hi Martin, 👋
I didn't leave much behind on this one.
Thanks 👍

Great to see you back at it Gene. Another awesome job; it looked to be hard work with all this whip thin branches woven through it.
Thanks, Cryogenic Fire!
It was difficult. At first, I thought it was going to be a quick and easy one. Wrong, lol! 🦫 💪.

Hi Dale, 👋

Thanks!
Man what a well built dam. Canadian beavers rock. Great job Gene good to see you back at it.
Thanks, Ken!
They are definitely smart, hard workers 🦫 💪. The dams are all a little different depending on what they have to work with.
Just a thought for when you take us on your canoe rides with you... would it be possible to get a view from right up front of the canoe?
Done!
Lol, 👍.

FANTASTIC

Hi Greg.
That's what I do best.......👌
