Yeah basically their hearts. Deku wants to save people (like All might). Bakugo wants to be stronger than anyone and prove his strenght (he wants to be stronger than All might, who is the number one hero). But it's about their hearts : Deku wants to beat Bakugo.. And Bakugo is afraid of not having enough heart(/devotion) to be a hero, which is why he's afraid of Deku. I really like their relationship !!!!

I just realized that Bakugo stopped smiling after getting into UA, he smiled in the first episode genuinely because that was the only time he felt better than anyone else, he still does, but when he got into UA, he saw so many people wanting to be heroes and with so many quirks he started doubting himself, he doesn't know how to express himself, so he does it by shouting and pushing everyone away, but bakugo truly is sad I think..he doesn't show it but the sudden change got to him, where he used to be best now has a lot of competition. Yes, he likes competition, but I think that he is facing too many problems. When the league of villains got to him, bakugo saw it as him being weak, and thinking that if he wasn't weak all might wouldn't be 'ended.' I think it's also that he doubts himself, and doesn't know who he truly is. Deku used to have no quirk and bakugo could look down on Deku with no hesitation, but when Deku suddenly became strong, bakugo felt humiliated when he lost against Izuku who used to be so much weaker than him. whenever Deku tries helping bakugo , bakugo sees it as Deku looking down on him. But bakugo never shows his true self, does he? He hides behind a tough strong angry person but inside he is sad.. Bakugo is truly an amazing character and the character development from 1st to 4th season was immense.

Praising a child prodigy based on their attributes and not their own efforts will create a lack of self esteem because it's hollow praise which results in fragile self esteem. "The most inflated egos are the most fragile." - All Might He's a kid who has crazy high expectations for himself but has been feeling like he's been failing to meet them ever since going to UA because he cannot do anything but excessively compare himself to others. That causes the ningling self-doubt that has been at the back of his head since he was little to grow and be more prominent which is expressed through his anger. He was captured yes but it was in no way his fault. That's like saying if you get mugged, it's your fault for having money. The person to blame is Shigaraki but since Bakugo is so self-centered he thought it was his weakness. All Might never said he wasn't worthy. Bakugo thought since it was his fault and since All Might picked Deku, that meant he did something wrong. All Might tells him, "No, you didn't do anything wrong. I didn't pick you because you could already stand in the ring and I wanted Midoriya to have the same chance. You're image of heroism is flawed but so is Midoriya's. You need the drive to win & save to be the greatest." He then told them to learn from each other and raise each other up since they both embody traits of a symbol of peace. All Might never said Bakugo wasn't worthy. These are seeds for future plot points being set where in the future there won't be another single point of failure/lone pillar but instead a hero society with Deku, Bakugo and the next gen being the new symbols of peace, multiple pillars resulting in a stronger foundation for peace. There is a reason Deku & Bakugo were introduced before All Might. Out of the people who are chasing after All Might, they will be the main two chasing after the ideal he left behind. Heroes Rising and events in the manga support this, especially since that would've been MHA's ending if Bones wasn't planning on having a second movie.

You understand how important bakugou is in midoriya's story when you realize that the anime (and manga) started off with their interaction as kids. The first thing a mangaka chooses to show is very important.

This video makes me cry so much, My favorite characters (Bakugo, Katsuki and Midoriya, Izuku) makes me cry that much. And one thing about Kacchan's feelings being scared of Deku's big, loving, and friendly heart, is their reason that's why they're rivals and half friends it makes sense with the sounds and video. No one really understands Kacchan for always being mad be cuz he wants to be the number one, but his feelings grew worst so that is the reason of being so mad but, deep inside his heart, he is really crying... and btw thus video is the best amv i watched love it!
Ok, when i first found your channel i thought "ok kinda stupid name but ok" then i watched a few videos, and damn do you do good work, i always liked when amvs told a story, and thats exactly what you do, afew times i almost cried, you take time to go through and find scenes relative to a theme, instead of just throwing random action scenes with a random song together, my only problem(a small one really), is in your labeling of the video, you label it an AMV(anime music video), but i feel like ASMV(anime story music video) fits abit more, anyways you do you, keep up the great work
Thank you for giving me a shot! Looking back, my younger self could've come up with a way better name, but it had a nice ring to it at the time, yknow? I do agree that ASMV is a more fitting category for my videos, but I have two reasons why I use AMV instead: 1. "ASMV" doesn't look as nice as "AMV" in the video title (personal preference) 2. There's a negative stigma towards ASMVs (from my experience) and I want to introduce people to the genre by catering to a bigger audience. Just having "AMV" in the title makes it more accessible to the larger AMV community instead of limiting it to the smaller ASMV subgroup. Hopefully that answers your question, and thank you for the feedback!

Japanese voice actors are so superior. I feel like many emotions can’t get transfered good enough in the english dubbed version. For example with Bakugos voice crack you could clearly hear his insecurity, disappoinment and sorrow. This part gave me goosebumps!!

I think we have all been able relate to bakugo in a way, he may seem like a jerk but hes really just voicing what hes thinking, something i personally couldnt do very well.
Just recently caught up with this anime after hearing so much about it over the internet and let me say that this is one of the best shows I have ever experienced in my life I’m not too into anime but this show has made a impact on my life almost, I haven’t felt like this since the original naruto when I was a kid.

Actually bakugou works harder than deku cause his quirk comes with more weight than dekus Deku needs to only increase strength to use ofa while bakugou needs to improve both stamina and strength cause his explosions have massive knock back for him He also had to study more cause his quirk is pretty basic and without intellect he would without a doubt be like aoyama lvl so appreciate his drive a little more

Bakugo was blessed with a strong quirk from birth and was literally destined to become a great hero one way or another as opposed to deku who was not only quirkless , but lived his all childhood under the shadow of a bully who told to kill himself and so . My point is this one bakugo had 14 years to get used to his quirk while Deku was expected not to learn the fundamentals of the quirk but also to catch up to him with a self destroying quirk. I love bakugo but I don’t agree with the fact that he works harder than Deku ! How many times did Deku break his limbs ? He went through a lot of pain !
To become the greatest hero, Bakugo would have to take Camie’s (I think that’s her name) advice and “try shutting up” and stop being so rude and violent.
Can we talk about the symbolism in this fight? All Might is standing between both the white lines but Deku and Bakugo are standing on either side to represent saving others and fighting. And in the beginning, Bakugo runs on one side while deku plants his feet on both?

Comment time! I sound like a broken record but credit is due where it is due. This video is superb. The difference between this and some others, and it's marginal in one sense but makes a huge difference, is that you have a real finesse here with timing, transitions, and scene selection (which I think is VERY strong here). This reminds me, like someone said below, of Battle of Brothers, which is your best work by a mile and that says a ton considering how strong your other videos are. in both cases you weave scenes together effortlessly and have an incredible sense for pacing. It's like wine, you gotta let everything breathe for just the right amount of time, not too short and not too long, and this video does that in all the right places. Others have said this, but at some point you need to be doing this professionally. Oh, also, I know you did some past videos on Attack on Titan. I don't know if you read the manga, but after the second part of season 3 airs, you will have an ABUNDANCE of material to use. I suggest keeping an eye out for it as I think you should revisit the series for your videos.

i love the fact that they gave bakugo that win. they give his character alot of fight knowledge, and i like that. hes not just "the weaker rival" like most anime. hes actually got skill and tactics to help him win.
This video left me crying uncontrollably and hugging my phone so tight that it almost broke. This is an emotional journey of overcoming hardship and dealing with the consequences. This is truly a masterpiece and I’m so glad the my eyes have been blessed with this
Season 3 Ep 61 was a brilliant episode. For the entire series, we're seeing these memories from Deku's POV. All of them are his memories of admiring Bakugo or being bullied by him. It never really comes to mind that they're Bakugo's memories too, but they are. Clearly, he was paying attention, even if he was trying not to.

When the league of villains got to him, bakugo saw it as him being weak, and thinking that if he wasn't weak all might wouldn't be 'ended.' I think it's also that he doubts himself, and doesn't know who he truly is.
Deku used to have no quirk and bakugo could look down on Deku with no hesitation, but when Deku suddenly became strong, bakugo felt humiliated when he lost against Izuku who used to be so much weaker than him. whenever Deku tries helping bakugo , bakugo sees it as Deku looking down on him.
But bakugo never shows his true self, does he? He hides behind a tough strong angry person but inside he is sad..
Bakugo is truly an amazing character and the character development from 1st to 4th season was immense.

He's a kid who has crazy high expectations for himself but has been feeling like he's been failing to meet them ever since going to UA because he cannot do anything but excessively compare himself to others. That causes the ningling self-doubt that has been at the back of his head since he was little to grow and be more prominent which is expressed through his anger.
He was captured yes but it was in no way his fault. That's like saying if you get mugged, it's your fault for having money. The person to blame is Shigaraki but since Bakugo is so self-centered he thought it was his weakness.
All Might never said he wasn't worthy. Bakugo thought since it was his fault and since All Might picked Deku, that meant he did something wrong.
All Might tells him, "No, you didn't do anything wrong. I didn't pick you because you could already stand in the ring and I wanted Midoriya to have the same chance. You're image of heroism is flawed but so is Midoriya's. You need the drive to win & save to be the greatest."
He then told them to learn from each other and raise each other up since they both embody traits of a symbol of peace. All Might never said Bakugo wasn't worthy.
These are seeds for future plot points being set where in the future there won't be another single point of failure/lone pillar but instead a hero society with Deku, Bakugo and the next gen being the new symbols of peace, multiple pillars resulting in a stronger foundation for peace.
There is a reason Deku & Bakugo were introduced before All Might. Out of the people who are chasing after All Might, they will be the main two chasing after the ideal he left behind.
Heroes Rising and events in the manga support this, especially since that would've been MHA's ending if Bones wasn't planning on having a second movie.

Ok, when i first found your channel i thought "ok kinda stupid name but ok" then i watched a few videos, and damn do you do good work, i always liked when amvs told a story, and thats exactly what you do, afew times i almost cried, you take time to go through and find scenes relative to a theme, instead of just throwing random action scenes with a random song together, my only problem(a small one really), is in your labeling of the video, you label it an AMV(anime music video), but i feel like ASMV(anime story music video) fits abit more, anyways you do you, keep up the great work

I do agree that ASMV is a more fitting category for my videos, but I have two reasons why I use AMV instead:
1. "ASMV" doesn't look as nice as "AMV" in the video title (personal preference)
2. There's a negative stigma towards ASMVs (from my experience) and I want to introduce people to the genre by catering to a bigger audience. Just having "AMV" in the title makes it more accessible to the larger AMV community instead of limiting it to the smaller ASMV subgroup.

Actually bakugou works harder than deku cause his quirk comes with more weight than dekus

I sound like a broken record but credit is due where it is due. This video is superb. The difference between this and some others, and it's marginal in one sense but makes a huge difference, is that you have a real finesse here with timing, transitions, and scene selection (which I think is VERY strong here). This reminds me, like someone said below, of Battle of Brothers, which is your best work by a mile and that says a ton considering how strong your other videos are. in both cases you weave scenes together effortlessly and have an incredible sense for pacing. It's like wine, you gotta let everything breathe for just the right amount of time, not too short and not too long, and this video does that in all the right places. Others have said this, but at some point you need to be doing this professionally.
Oh, also, I know you did some past videos on Attack on Titan. I don't know if you read the manga, but after the second part of season 3 airs, you will have an ABUNDANCE of material to use. I suggest keeping an eye out for it as I think you should revisit the series for your videos.

the saddest thing abt their relation is that deku has been bakugous side since they were toddlers and up until now,and come to think of it i think [in my opinion] that bakugou really has some feelings for Midoriya and he just has some trouble opening up and telling him just like that he can only cry openly infront of Midoriya and Midoriya only
i love the fact that they gave bakugo that win. they give his character alot of fight knowledge, and i like that. hes not just "the weaker rival" like most anime. hes actually got skill and tactics to help him win.

Season 3 Ep 61 was a brilliant episode. For the entire series, we're seeing these memories from Deku's POV. All of them are his memories of admiring Bakugo or being bullied by him. It never really comes to mind that they're Bakugo's memories too, but they are. Clearly, he was paying attention, even if he was trying not to.
Season 6 will be extremely important for this two guys.
