      I have a pair of nursing shoes that a friend of mine tried on. The first words out of her mouth were " oh my god, oh my God. The brand is Anywear and they are dirt cheap. They are made of a very tough rubber and easy to clean. There are no holes around the toes, but, the insoles are breathable. Worth looking into. I promise!

    New Balance have removable insoles and in store they have a 3D scanner that shows everything about you feet and watches you walk so you can be fit properly. They also sell insoles with arch support that you can add to your shoe that the scanner recommends

    • @jamilgotcher5456
      @jamilgotcher5456 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes because as I've recently learned it's important to get the right type of sneaker for your foot, high arch, medium arch or flat foot, a shoe that is good for someone else to wear all day may not be good for someone who has a totally different arch or no arch at all. I'm glad she discussed that in the video.

      @@graciehoward3945 RN on a surgical rotation. I actually timed the whole thing and it took 7 hours to actually feel REALLY mild discomfort from my feet. I also have a flat-ish arch so my feet tend to hurt after 2.5 hours of walking regardless of the shoes I wear. I honesly cannot believe these shoes made such a difference. You can almost feel the weight distributed evenly with every step. It's whack! And thank GOD they were worth it cause I've never spent so much on a pair of shoes lol

      Custom insoles are always awesome! Arch Crafters has basically the same kit you'd have done at a foot doctor, but you can find them for sale on Amazon or other orthotic websites for under $100, rather than the $300-400 you'd pay at the doctor! :) They say they're made to last 2 years, and you can pay less to get new ones made form the same imprints! I'm just finally replacing mine at 4 years old because I found out I'm a wide width and it will help me greatly to get new imprints!

They remain stiff and gave me blisters and the ball of my feet ached for days after wearing them. Do yourself a favor and don’t believe the hype. These shoes are not worth the price and pain you will suffer. My dad had always told me you should always invest in good shoes and a good mattress because half of your day you’ll be asleep and the other day you’ll be up. But these shoes were not it

    I'm a vet tech, my job can get a bit messy. Bought a pair of sketchers summit shoes to try. Not THE best when I work 16 hour double shifts, but are good for about 10 hours no sitting. But I found out they're crazy water resistant! I got a fair amount of blood on them one day, I liberally rised with hydrogen peroxide, and my foot stayed dry. Have since stepped in poop, rinsed them *while still wearing them* and still stayed dry. They are almost perfect

    I work 3-4 twelves a week in the hospital. I have been loyal to Brooks after being a huge Nike fan (Nike because like you said, stylish).... I am no longer as impressed with Brooks and I don't know if I care what my feet look like anymore after 5 years. My last 2 or 3 pairs of Brooks broke down just a few months in, but then again I usually go for the clearance section rather than the more expensive Gel Nimbus or Ghost versions. I am hearing a lot of good things about Hoka. So many options :(

    I agree that you don't buy shoes online! Sanita did make Dansko shoes until the companies severed their relationship about 8 years ago. Sanita is what Dansko used to be and the price is better! I worked in a hospital and it worked well for me to have the Sanita rocker sole. I met a few people at the door coming in with bleeding patients or unconscious children over their arms and ran with them to get in the ER. The rocker soles helped me run at the speed I needed to go. There are different models from Sanita and Dansko for a narrower foot than the wider foot.

    most of hospital in my country used loafers for the nursing shoes. I got white loafers from my nursing school and must used it when I had my practical nursing in the hospital, it hurts my feet like hell. I often just used my socks to stand when there's no any patient's call. Pretty much the people behind who thought loafers worked for nurses in my country, well, maybe not a nurse themselves. Thank god, I got a job in a hospital where I could used sneakers. In my first-two year I used hush puppies then switch it to nike. Nike pretty much my bestfriend right now :)

    (I'm speaking ONLY of my experiences as a CNA in several nursing homes in my area that I worked at)
    I was a CNA for 8-9 years. Let me tell you those mandated overtime 16 hour shifts SUCKED!!! Proper footwear is absolutely a MUST! I have all the love and respect in the world for nurses but physically that job is easier on the body (@ least in the 4different nursing homes I worked at) than being a CNA. Still, both are rough and a lot of hospitals and nursing homes have floors that are not the best for spending 8-16 hours on your feet. Man I don't miss it! Lol
    I used to have a really good pair of sneakers...I wish I could remember wtf they were called. They were AMAZING! I spend almost $250 on them but they lasted me 8 years. I wish now that I could remember what brand they were because I sure could use them now. This video was helpful for me to pick a new pair. Tysm!

    I had the allegria Debra's with blue purple butterflies and got alot of compliments from coworkers and patients family. I haven't able to find a stylish replacement pair yet.
    Dansko felt like I walking in heels and I have a weak left ankle...and it gave out while running to a rapid response

    How do you wash sneakers? You said they should go in the wash? 😳 (Sorry if this is a gross question. This made me think there was a way to laundry wash shoes rather than hand wash)

    • @kdlove3118
      @kdlove3118 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes most mesh and cloth sneakers can be washed in the washing machine. Amazon sells shoe bags for the dryer door, so your shoes don’t beat and bang in the dryer.

    I had Algerias for nursing school and they hurt my feet and I kept rolling my ankles. I wouldn’t recommend. I also agree with what you said about the style..they are not that cute. They are very wide at the front and look boxy. They also have that weird slope at the toe and a thick bottom making them clunky and hard to walk in..
